Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for our payroll, time cards, onboarding, and recruiting functionality. This is coming up on the third year our company has used Paylocity. We just switched over to the recruiting platform as we had used an outside company to manage this for us. I'm actually happier now than I was previously.

Pros

  • ease of use for time cards clocking in/out
  • onboarding is simple for HR and users
  • recruiting function runs smoothly

Cons

  • The Expense section is cumbersome. Uploading receipts, expense reports in general are not user friendly or intuitively obvious at all.
  • Sometimes employees can request time off categories that they don't have (or have a zero balance). I'd love to see a way to stop this as the HR Director.
  • The anniversaries and birthdays are a nice feature but I'd like to see more of a lead time for them to give us time to send out acknowledgements.
  • We saved approximately $3000 by utilizing Paylocity's recruiting platform this year
  • We've been better able to track the time off usage by our employees
  • Payroll runs well and smoothly
Using the recruiting platform in Paylocity has saved our HR department over 100 man hours in the 4th quarter as we were resorting to posting our jobs manually due to a loss of functionality with the website we were paying for recruiting. Having a workflow to use and pre-filled job descriptions to input has saved us additional man hours.
We will often see employees across the state recognize others for accomplishments, such as work anniversaries. Sometimes they will simply wish each other happy birthday. We know that increasing morale and supporting one another is key in any organization, so we fully support and encourage this within Paylocity and elsewhere.
Paylocity is much more user friendly. I have used Paylocity in multiple organizations. It is intuitive, it works. There is no guessing as far as where to navigate. The time cards are easy to use and edit as necessary. HR-wise, the onboarding and recruiting functions are also organized and efficient.

We are happy with the functionality of Paylocity. Employees are generally able to catch on to how to clock in and out fairly easily during our onboarding/orientation training. I had a steep learning curve trying to learn how to design the event packets in the onboarding feature, so sometimes the user friendliness of Paylocity could be better.
