Overall Satisfaction with Rippling

We use Rippling for our company Benefits administration for a team of geographically dispersed employees. We utilize the platform for easy access to health, dental, life, and vision benefits, as well as options for HSA, FSA and 401k plans. Since we are a small company and do not have a large HR team, Rippling helps to simplify this process so any employee can easily access their benefits or tax information.

Pros

  • Easy to use web interface
  • Access to multiple options of suitable medical, dental, and insurance plans
  • Quick and reliable customer service help

Cons

  • There have been some outages when the platform was not available to access for a few hours.
  • It would be great to get an alert about 401k distributions once you hit a certain benchmark or limit for the year.
  • Making use of HSA/FSA funds could be easier (ie. monthly recurring payments have to be submitted and filled out every month instead of just submitting receipts).
  • Rippling provides an easy one-stop for our HR coordinator to access relevant tax and employee information quickly.
Rippling was recommended by one of my mentors and used at my previous company. We migrated off Gusto for one main reason - the increased options for benefits coverage were much more attractive for a growing company with employees in different parts of the US. I haven't used TriNet in a while, but I remember it required training and was a clunky interface to interact with.
Support has been very helpful and has responded quickly to requests when needed. This has mainly been around questions with FSA, HSA, and 401k as well as getting pre-hire Benefits options to share with candidates during the offer process.

I rate usability by how much training and FAQ reading you have to do to get comfortable with the product. With Rippling, our team did not have to do much (if any) research on how to effectively use the platform.
It is a very easy to use interface that will be accessible without any real employee training. It offers a variety of integrations and health care plans that were suitable for a diverse team of employees based in different parts of the United States. Their customer support team and onboarding team were both very communicative and helpful getting things set up quickly.
