Overall Satisfaction with SAP Commerce Cloud

we use SAP Commerce Cloud as a platform for b2b commerce. We created a branded platform on top of SAP Commerce to be able to deploy different solution for different market segment of our company, each of those segments are separate organisation that sell other products.
  • Provide a generic solution.
  • Is highly customizable.
  • can be integrated with anything.
  • Is quite up-to-date regarding java versions.
  • The developer experience is really bad (long build time, long startup time)
  • The communication around the product is really blury (roadmap, dates)
  • The communication around the architecture is not direct enough, sap should embrace the modular monolith, like other do it (Shopify, doctolib ect)
  • Communication around the cloud migration and pricing unlear, are we force to go to the cloud ? What if we cant affort it ?
  • Delivering a package with more than 1GB is really a bit much, maybe cleanup a bit before you deliver it, you would be amused about what images and resource you find in it.
  • Why delivering so many empty folder and not cleanup before ?
  • After so many year, still waiting for ant to be replaced..
  • the java API for impex is awfull, some api are not made for reuse.
  • Increase ecommerce revenue
You can do it, but there is a big problem regarding multitenancy in my organisation, our architect want some tenants/brands to store their data in such a way that the data is really separated, and this is not easy to realise in sap commerce cloud
You have a full flexibility of your solution, and we dont have to use complex solution everytime (like kyma is not an option)
SAP Commerce is perceived as old, expensive and not born in the cloud, SAP has a negative touch in general. The monolithic approach is seen negatively, which is a mistake, SAP should sell the current mixed approach better, and focus on a low TCO, which is difficult given the price model (nobody know what it really costs)

Do you think SAP Commerce Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with SAP Commerce Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP Commerce Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of SAP Commerce Cloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP Commerce Cloud again?

Yes

You are in a big company, you already have an really experience team of developers, you already have a SAP Landscape, and your purchasing department can negotiate a fair price.
