Overall Satisfaction with TriNet
Our organization signed up with TriNet last year as a PEO in order to take advantage of their network for benefits administration and gain access to preferable group pricing. Payroll administration has been relatively simple, and I can typically process our biweekly pay runs for approx 50 employees in under an hour (this is a huge upgrade from other systems I've used that took much longer). This does require some buy-in and training with our managers but it's been relatively painless. I don't love that we can't make changes to our leave plans or process terminations in real time, but rather we need to submit tickets and wait for someone at TriNet to acknowledge, review, and process these requests. Terminations are quick but altering a paid leave plan takes an inexplicably long time (12 weeks and counting so far, for an attempt to move employees from earning 6 sick days to 12 sick days per year??). Open enrollment was simple and the assistance for employees was very useful. I'm less happy about the rates we got from our carriers but I understand this is mostly beyond TriNet's control.
I will say that I am always able to get someone on the phone or email almost immediately. I remember interminable wait times using other platforms, and that has never been an issue with TriNet.
Overall a strongly positive experience with the few drawbacks mentioned above.

Pros
- Payroll administration
- Reporting (census, etc)
- Onboarding and I9 verification
Cons
- Payroll processing time (5 business days, should be 1-2)
- Time processing terminations (should be same-day)
- PTO plan changes (12 weeks? Way way too long)
- Payroll processing in less than a half hour (strong positive)
- Benefits enrollment and admin are clearly explained, fast, and almost totally hands-off for HR (employees can self-manage)
Effectively managed the additional paid leave required by the state. We only started using TriNet in late 2023 so we did not require support during the onset and height of the pandemic, shutdowns, etc.
Response time is much better with TriNet. All parts of their site are well-designed for a smooth user experience. Administration costs are reasonable (some others are offensively high and remind you that you could just hire another FT employee to do this work).
Do you think TriNet delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with TriNet's feature set?
Yes
Did TriNet live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of TriNet go as expected?
I wasn't involved with the implementation phase
Would you buy TriNet again?
Yes
