Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

We use it for prototyping and testing layouts and the usability of our products. We have conducted tests from basic layout all the way to high fidelity to garner information about user navigation and habits. The video and feedback we get then goes into the next round and so on, we have used it for multiple projects in this nature

Pros

  • the video feedback, it works really well
  • The participant selection is on point as we want new users most of the time
  • its really easy to use, i've never found an issue with getting about on the site

Cons

  • I wish you could specify for things like high level of detail needed, some people give short answers and some give great explained ones and some projects require more of that
  • price, when we started with it we used the smaller packages, but once we grew and had more budget it got easier to deal with
  • when you first start your first few tests can be a bit off but thats more of a training thing
  • We managed to drop the number of clicks from homepage to product by 4 based on the results we discovered
  • We saw TTS (time to sale) drop but basket items increase due to the implemented feature
  • we saw an increase in basket size across the board
they are a good team, I only really ever needed them 2 or 3 times but it was always in a reasonable amount of time and we got the answers we needed which is about what you want. They were friendly and helpful so all around it was a win
I found the site easy to use and the features almost self explanatory, there is plenty of training materials if you take the time to learn it then you should have no problems with the platform. a lot of the features and layout are standardized now so its not a steep learning curve.
It helped speed up our time to market for sure when it came to developing new features. this was a massive win for us as before it would go back and forth a lot before it even got in front of a customer. once we started using the platform we became less precious about how polished we need to make things before getting it in front of customers.
They all have different needs but we used the others to try and do what we wanted before we switched to UserTesting. we wanted to utilize as much of our audience as possible before but we noticed that people who had familiarity with our products would breeze through the testing.

If you need to test the functionality and user experience of a product it is a really good way of doing it in "mass". you are essentially getting 85% of the experience of real world test but online. One bit of advice though is to make sure you have a really clear idea of what you want to test, the more specific the better.
