Constant Contact is great when trying to target specific market segments. We typically like to segment our master list by region, but also have product segments, as well. They do provide pre-made segments to start you off too.We don't usually use their email builder, we find others to be more flexible, intuitive, and have more variety. We do prefer emailing from Constant Contact, however.

I think Insightly is a pretty good option for anyone looking for a database for their contacts. The different plans allow for a small number of contacts to a larger number for bigger companies. I'm not sure that really is a database that is completely perfect for everyone, but Insightly does a great job of covering at least a little bit of everything which makes it relevant to a lot of industries. I would say that if you are a really tiny company, this probably isn't the best software for your contact.

Insightly offers a great product; it's the right fit for our company at this time. We were, however, considering moving to Contactually due to their cost effective automation features. However, they lacked the project management capabilities of Insightly. As our company grows, we would love to stay with Insightly - and if they can nail the automation and add the ability to customize a little bit more, it would be the perfect solution for us. For a larger company with a more involved sales team, you might find the metrics/reporting to be a bit basic. Insightly offers great customer service even to free customers

There is always room for improvement. I don't know how they test their systems, but they should invite not-so computer savvy people to test it. If I, as an expert have problems, they need to think like the technophobe. Since I've used Constant Contact in the past as part of my former employment, I have not viewed any of the tutorials and just jumped in to work on my client's newsletter. With that said, I found some areas easy and some a bit cumbersome

Insightly cannot store large amount of data as it has limitation of storing large amount of data and that requires a lot of effort. It requires great amount of computation time as well to perform territory and customer segmentation analysis based on algorithm used which leads to delay in delivery of projects.

The system seemed quite slow sometimes. Specifically, there was sometimes a delay in sends if it was during a high traffic period. There were time-outs when uploading new code for an email, and a lag in reporting analytics which was sometimes as long as 72 hours

We're very disappointed with the technical support Insightly has to offer. Firstly, there is a lack of proper training modules or technical resources available online, even with a strong community of users. Then, their support team is highly unresponsive and so slow in getting a speedy resolution to your problem. We have faced issues in the past and it was almost impossible to get in touch with their support team. On the other hand, during implementation, their support team was great and made sure everything was set up properly and smoothly.

Implementation is very easy for someone who wants to send out the “batch and blast” type newsletters. If you want to use their templates with no customizations, the product works fine. However, the more customizations you get into involving link color, etc, that’s where things can get tricky for someone who may not be familiar with coding

And we simply found more people read the emails and responded more frequently when we used Constant Contact. (+) Being able to download my LinkedIn connections was a huge benefit. (+) I use the task function to stay on top of my follow-up activity which is another positive feature. (+) The sorting capabilities also help me pinpoint the contacts that I need to stay on top of.(-) When I add a new lead from an existing organization, I would like the organization's information to automatically populate the fields like address, website, description. I enter all that information manually. (-) My mass mailing experience has been tedious due to the email function being interrupted and crashing due to bad email addresses in some of my records. (-) Many of my leads do not have current email addresses. I wish Insightly offered a tool to help find email addresses. I spend too much time researching to find email addresses.
