Most people use Google or have an account which makes it very easy for them to use. SurveyMonkey is also easy but lacks some of the integration that Google Surveys offers. Google Surveys has a feature where it can send the user a record of their responses. This is not a feature …

The other survey systems are similar, but Google Surveys has a higher price point. I also find support to be lacking at times.

Chose Google Surveys
We used Google Surveys a couple of times because it was easy to set up a quick set of questions. We also liked that it created a visual of the data and fed our analytics. But overall, we've remained with Qualtrics because many of our surveys are complicated and found it …
Chose Google Surveys
Google Surveys is a more complete program compared to SmartSurvey and SnapSurveys because it is well integrated within the Google Classroom and for me, that is very important because as a Teacher I want to find out what my students are thinking about a specific subject area. …
Chose Google Surveys
Google Surveys is easy to use when you are familiar with other products from the Google family and makes it quick for everyone to set up simple surveys and send them out to participants. While our organization is using Microsoft, often staff and faculty choose to use Google …

Chose SurveyMonkey
I haven't personally created a survey using Google Surveys, but I have received one from multiple employees lately. I believe it is slowing going to push out SurveyMonkey from our school, as the Google Suite of products have been adopted and are more widely used throughout the …
Chose SurveyMonkey
In my opinion, SurveyMonkey is the gold standard. Google Forms and Google Surveys, while being able to connect easily to other Google tools, are not as adept or intuitive as SurveyMonkey is. Google is trying to be all things for all people, and while it does a lot of those …
Chose SurveyMonkey
It's probably above Google Surveys and below the other two. I didn't select SurveyMonkey, the company already had it and I made the decision to get an additional license for my work.

Google Surveys is perfect when trying to collaborate with co-workers and find a date & time that works best for them to get together, whether it's for a regular meeting, team photo session, celebratory dinner, or Christmas celebration. It's also great for getting feedback on proposed changes that would affect the team.

SurveyMonkey is best suited for you if you find that you are creating multiple survey regularly. It offers a variety of questions and options and is a well-rounded surveying tool. It is not best if you do not create surveys often, typically use the same survey, or looking for software to create quizzes or assessments. Also, if you are easily overwhelmed by too many options, this may not be the tool for you.

Pros
Google
  • Measure the pulse of how our members are feeling (yes/no questions, multiple-choice questions).
  • Learn how students are doing with specific projects (textual-based questions, essay-type answers).
  • Run an election for board members (use of the "other" notation so that people can write in their own choices).

  • SurveyMonkey templates have made it very user-friendly. It is very efficient to create a survey.
  • I love that they have multiple ways to answer questions. For example, short answer, paragraph, and radio buttons to name a few.
  • The surveys are very easy to share. You can import a large list of email addresses or free type just a few.
  • I like that you can test the survey before sending it out live. I send it to myself to verify how it will look and feel to the end-user.

Cons
Google
  • While it is very intuitive, there are many ways you can fine-tune your survey (such as word limits, counts, etc) and these are not always obvious where those settings are.
  • I would like to see some ways of changing the formatting (and maybe I just haven't explored that yet), ie: colors, set up on the screen.

  • Recognizing that there are more limitations when it comes to a mobile interface vs. a desktop interface, I would love to see more profound levels of programming functionality on the mobile side.
  • It would be helpful to have better access to greater levels of third-party results analysis, particularly as it relates to open-ended questions and answers.
  • As an admin, it would be very cool if SurveyMonkey were able to use AI to match the survey we're building (questions, topics, target respondents, etc.) to existing results that might negate the need to ask certain questions in our surveys.

Compared to other competitors in the market (including a few I've used internally), if you're looking for a survey application, this one does the job and it's quite inexpensive too. Considering the fact that it comes with a handy mobile application too (on iOS and Android), you also get flexibility thrown in the deal too.

Usability
Google
Relatively simple so that those who are less than familiar with computers can figure it out. User friendly and already embedded with other Google products. Receives an 8 because many features available with Google Surveys are also available with similar, free products on the internet today. Good, but not stellar.

It does everything a survey software should do, and it does it very well. I can't speak for how well it would work for a business that was surveying tens of thousands of people - but for a small business of 50 employees with a couple of thousand clients, it does everything it needs to do.

This is by far the only area where I think that there is room for improvement because Google does not respond as fast as I would like them to. We live in a fast-paced world and this is probably the only area where Google can improve on and as a teacher, I find it challenging to wait for a day or two for a response when everything that I am doing in the Google Classroom is running instantly and with no breaks in between.

I've never had to contact the SurveyMonkey customer care team directly, but they have a pretty good library of help articles on their website. Everything from designing and executing your survey to account and billing questions. I never had a need for further support from Survey Monkey.

I selected Google Surveys to create them because it was free and helped to improve our overall information and data. It was easy to build it into our systems and get the data. Other survey providers have offered a larger variety of options, which have helped even more - but the higher costs were not worth the extra money.

SurveyMonkey is easier to customize and provides much more in depth analytics. SurveyMonkey also provides better templates providing us with a better presentation to our employees. SurveyMonkey also comes with a more trustworthy platform that ensures confidentiality, which is incredibly important to our employees and means we're getting more reliable results from the surveys.

Return on Investment
Google
  • Google Surveys are responded by our customers - dealers, retailers and end users. As it's easy to handle, greater is its adoption and hence it definitely has a good ROI.
  • Employees as internal stakeholders also use it well to drive initiatives & projects within the organization. This enhances their engagement showcasing digital workplace and hence again a good ROI.

  • We use this to survey vendors after a trade show and their comments to me have helped improve other shows. I don't have hard numbers but I know our vendors, some of whom are associate members, are very happy to give this feedback because it helps their ROI too.
  • I know it has saved us employee time as we aren't sifting through email responses and entering them into a spreadsheet. SurveyMonkey does that for us.
  • We often need to do quick polls to our members to make decisions. This makes them feel like they are getting value for their membership dues that they pay our association.
