Greenhouse is well suited if you have an organization where recruiting is a top priority and hiring top talent is the standard. Small to mid sized businesses will most likely be the perfect market.Greenhouse is not well suited if you are an existing organization that has more than 1,000 employees.

iCIMS

The experienced Senior Recruiters in our organization say that iCIMS Talent Cloud is the most all-encompassing Applicant Tracking Software they have used thus far which I believe speaks a lot. I cannot picture any scenario where the products are not suited; the options available for different organizations seem to be versatile.

  • Greenhouse job listings look neat and are very user-friendly. As an applicant, I always appreciated that Greenhouse job listings looked uniform, contained all the information I needed, and made applications simple. This is helpful on the other side of the hiring process too.
  • I really like the dashboard. It's clean and makes it super easy to make referrals, see upcoming interviews, and view/share jobs.
  • The interview scorecards are great. Thorough without taking too much time to fill out, and strikes the right balance of structure (yes/no questions, number ratings, etc.) and open-endedness (short answers).

  • Once I submitted a Scorecard for a candidate after an interview, I had a hard time finding that scorecard again in order to make an edit. I would like to have an option to view scorecard written by me on my dashboard.
  • I wish the software's setup provided more of a structure to help small companies that may not have a fully cooked HR department yet with guidance and guidelines on how to conduct a thorough candidate review and a bias free interview. There are other HR/recruiting software out there that helps its customers by providing best practices in performance reviews and recruiting that are reflected in the tools design and functionality.
  • Great product but minimal support past sales and onboarding and the high cost can be a hard sell for small companies.

  • We've had changes to our account managers that have been confusing. We lost our months ago and still have not been assigned a new one. They are very helpful as they take the time to understand how you use the system and ways to make it even better.
  • Reporting is overwhelming.
  • Searching is cumbersome. Sometimes I just want to look up a phone number who called me, but I can't because of the formatting.

I would say that we are very likely to renew with iCIMS. They seem to continuously be improving their product based on the feedback from their clients. In addition, the thought have having to go through another implementation of this level is daunting and as long as the software continues to meet the business needs of the company and provides the appropriate level of support we will most likely stay. Costs regarding future renewals will also impact this decision and if necessary we will go to market to evaluate other options.

It could be a bit more user-friendly for the hiring managers and those folks that do not have much experience with systems like these. I feel like the design of it appears intimidating to them and they decide they don't know what to do even before they have tried anything. I think it might be nice to have a more basic platform as far as visual appearance and usability for regular users and save the "techie" platform for the admin users who are more likely to be well-trained in how to navigate the suite.

There is always ample advance notice before the software goes down for maintenance and this is usually done at off-peak hours. As for system failures - I can't think of any that have effected us in over two years od use.

I have never needed to call Greenhouse for support. I am not the primary account holder, nor do I use Greenhouse enough to merit calling support. I delegate that responsibility to the Recruiting team. They have never mentioned any experience with Greenhouse technical support, either bad or good. I would assume that they would tell me if the support was poor.

iCIMS Customer Support sets the bar for other vendors. They are hands down the best vendor to work with for any issues, modifications, new integrations, etc. iCIMS Customer Support is the 'face' of the company and they are all professional, knowledgeable and ready to help.

I would say I believe iCims online training is very good. It's informative, visually appealing, and simple in explaining all the different aspects of iCims. I also really like the new candidate onboarding, and all the other training curricula you have up to be able to inform or send out to the candidate. I like you can attach a URL link for videos as well so you can really customize the training. I feel that overall, I would like to see more. Perhaps, more robust options with the training, if that's something iCims is expanding on in the future.

I've used a wide variety of Applicant Tracking system's that all had their pain points:
  • Kenexa Brassring
  • Peoplesoft
  • Jobvite
  • Taleo
I have to say out of the Applicant Tracking System's I used, Greenhouse has been the best to use. It has done a great job in helping our overall recruiting process. I can do a variety of things right in Greenhouse and it eliminates using other software. It is truly a one stop shop for my recruiting needs. I really like their chat support feature, their one click sharing jobs to social media postings, the ability to customize many reports, and the ability to set reminders of any action items I need to do for certain candidates. Also, employees can easily submit their referrals and find info on their referral's status. I've had very few issues using Greenhouse and my Account manager has been wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend Greenhouse to any recruiting organization. There are so many benefits and very few issues, it's truly a great ATS to have.

We have some very unique processes, and it was important for us to have a system that is highly configurable, and would also integrate well with other programs that we were already using. We found iCIMS to be the best for us in configurability, and the program already had integrations in place with other software products that we used--more so than other companies we evaluated.
