Considered Multiple Products
Infor CloudSuite ERP
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Compared to other ERP softwares like SAP and Oracle, Infor CloudSuite ERP is simple, flexible and adaptable with specific industry solutions. SAP is quite powerful but at same time it's quite complex for organizations that are looking for leaner business processes, this is …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
it is more transparent and easier to use with more functions.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
THey are rather different, but whilst Blackline is able to be connected with many things - M3 is not on that side of the road. Compared to Blackline, m3 is a bit more robust I must admit - however, nowadays this can not be an excuse for lack of flexibility.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
It suits well for our Engineering and Construction compared to SAP and Microsoft Dynamics. Cost effective.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
We evaluated Epcot and Sage but Infor CloudSuite ERP was most aligned with our requirements.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Infor CloudSuite ERP is industry-driven. The Infor CloudSuite ERP comes bundled with proven solutions tailored to specific industries. Infor CloudSuite ERP offers a broad Technology Stack that not only facilitates the interaction between differing Infor products, it also …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
We previously used Microsoft Navision and considered SAP, NetSuite and Sage in our selection process. Infor CloudSuite ERP was not a one size fits all solution like many of the others. Infor CloudSuite ERP has 3 cloud ERP for Distribution, Manufacturing and Service industries. …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Infor CloudSuite ERP presented a better manufacturing solution and value proposition for our business.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
I think they all offer different things, but depending on the industry you need Infor can touch and be used for most of them.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
All products have their strengths and weaknesses. The deciding factors for us was the robustness of their offering (at that price point), the Infor ecosystems of related and connected products, the effort Infor put into presales to make sure this was a good fit to deliver …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Infor CloudSuite is much easier in my opinion to understand and get up and running. All ERPs are complex... but Infor was less complex than SAP. Infor had prebuilt processes for our industry that we could start with and then tweak and adjust further for our specific needs. …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
In our experience, Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is more flexible/easier to customize than SAP.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is equivalent to ADP, as the system is old style with poor navigation to where you need to go. But just like ADP is effective at the data management they have to handle. Paylocity is more user friendly and easy navigation but has quirks …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
In my opinion, Infor ERP lacks in a lot of customizable features and navigation through the system. I believe If you are using this for the recruitment process in your organization, the system is very slow to navigate, does not accommodate for high volume of applicants, and you …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
When it comes to how Infor M3 stacks up against other ERP systems, it really depends on the specific needs and requirements of an organization. Infor M3 has several advantages, such as its strong support for process manufacturing, advanced inventory management capabilities, and …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Infor M3 effectively manages the material plans and production schedules. It has also served well for our upper management of multiple business units which require months of consolidation, multi-currency financial operations, and the complete life cycle of business processes. …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
I am a user, I did not participate in selecting, though I am satisfied with Infor M3 (formerly Lawson Intentia).
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
We only had Lawson initially because it was "what we had always used". Closer to when I left the company we began looking for alternatives and ultimately engaged Oracle to switch to the Oracle ERP Cloud. We needed something that had better API integration and ease of use, and …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
We have used Lawson for over15 years. I'm not sure what products were reviewed when Lawson was implemented. We migrated from AS/400 to Lawson for most of our product verticals/geographies. Lawson is easier to use compared with other ERPs, perhaps due to the fact it has been …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
I've worked as an administrator, functional consultant, implementer and end-user of 3 different ERP products (Lawson, Oracle eBusiness Suite, and ViewPoint). Lawson fits in the middle of this pack. Oracle is the most feature-rich of the bunch (and also the most complicated …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
I was not here for when Adage was introduced but I can say having had experience with Oracle I can say that it can hold its own. When it gets down to, Adage is easier and cheaper to maintain then other ERP's. It can do the same tasks other ERP's can do and does them well.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
One of the products I have used is an Oracle accounting product. I feel that Infor stands up well when comparing to the Oracle product especially for the accounting functions. In comparing it to Microsoft Dynamics I feel that Infor is easier to use in some accounting tasks. The …
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Adage is much cheaper to operate, scales well, and just keeps running smoothly. Doesn't require a huge support staff.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
Lawson is comparable to the other ERP's I have used. Similar functionality and interface. Usability is comparable.
Chose Infor CloudSuite ERP
We might move away from Infor, the business is growing and Infor Lawson is no longer fit to the business, so we are in the process of evaluating other ERPs.
Microsoft Dynamics SL
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
We started with QuickBooks Enterprise when our company was young. We quickly outgrew this program as it was not able to accommodate the financial reporting we needed to satisfy our investors. QuickBooks was also very limited in managing our revenue as we grew.
We did try Great …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
MIP is a more robust product with more comprehensive modules that is tailored toward a non-profit accounting environment. The reporting and GL analysis features on MIP is also a lot more robust than Dynamics SL and the interface within MIP is designed to tailor to user needs. …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
Different class. Microsoft Dynamics SL isn't modern in design or interface.
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
Dynamics SL provides built in complex project accounting flexibility with the benefit to accommodate additional complexity with customization tools to enhance the system capabilities and fill requirement gaps either as to process, reporting, or controls.
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
I have been on this product for 17 years. I have worked with Great Plains and have worked with products in the Health Care industry and believe this product pulls in all the main functionality into basic core modules and allows users to quickly grasp how to use the product. …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
Of the comparable mid-range ERP systems, Dynamics SL competes at the lower end based on price, but also above the high-end based on flexibility, data, and reporting. Being able to stay with the same core accounting from a $100 million dollar company to a $3 billion dollar …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
They were both pretty easy to use, but I started using Microsoft Dynamics SL so it was a matter of knowing and becoming familiar with this program first. I became very accustomed to the modules and how to navigate the program.
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
I have used QuickBooks when I was in college and I did enjoy it mainly because that was my first experience with an accounting product like that. I did not switch to Microsoft Dynamics; it was the product used in the first company I received a job in. Although I did not select …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
QuickBooks is not a bad solution, but it is typically used by smaller companies since it is not a true, auditable accounting system. Dynamics is much more robust than QuickBooks and handles complex accounting much better.

FinancialForce may be a good option if you are looking …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
QuickBooks is a good entry point software. Dynamics is the next logical progression in a company's growth. Dynamics SL will allow for rapid growth and provide the necessary controls that QuickBooks is lacking.
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
I have evaluated many competitive products in the past. Dynamics Nav, Mass90, Dynamics GP, Platinum and others. This product is ahead in TCO and flexibility. Since the customization uses standard Microsoft tools (VBA, Visual Studio, and MS SQLServer, Object Model) it is much …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
I would love to have the Quorum product for our company; it is what the future-focused players in the industry are using.
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
SL is lacking in various places for a direct sales type of company plan. Currently, we are looking into other options and have decided on Microsoft Dynamics AX as a solution. The move to AX will allow us to keep ordering in one system instead of two (right now we are forcing SL …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
We used Connectwise, which did a good job costing function, but had to be periodically integrated and lacked some reporting capability.
We looked at GP but it does not have good project accounting, so it was not a good fit for our company.
We looked at NAV but there was too much …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics SL
We selected Dynamics SL because our business lives and dies by the success of our projects. A product that can tell you that you have a problem before you invoice, helps you get your project back on track much better. It's also much easier to evaluate across projects, tasks and …
Workday HCM
Chose Workday HCM
Workday Human Capital Management is it's own engine without the one stop shop embedded into it. You have to establish the payroll money movement in the beginning whether that is ADP or OSV. UKG and Rippling and one stop shops but pretty much offer the same type of things …
Chose Workday HCM
Workday had more capabilities for self-service, and was also utilized by many companies in the same sector or the same size as our organization. The level of customization was adequate, without being 'too' flexible, which would result in high levels of maintenance. It was also …
Chose Workday HCM
Workday Human Capital Management is more than just an ATS, Greenhouse works as just an ATS. I think Workday Human Capital Management is great for the entire candidate lifecycle. From applicant to hire to onboarding.
Chose Workday HCM
I find that Paylocity is more user friendly than Workday and Workday is more user friendly than Kronos. Paylocity, Bamboo HR and Workday all offer similar platforms and for many users, it may just come down to cost and intuitiveness. Integration may also be a factor. I've …
Chose Workday HCM
BeyondTrust Remote Support, Microsoft Power BI, SAP Concur, 8x8 Contact Center and Agile CRM
Chose Workday HCM
The issue with ADP that I have found is that it is not as user-friendly for employees, nor the administrators using the product. I prefer using the Workday Human Capital Management system as our HCM place of record.
Chose Workday HCM
Workday is more robust and works well with interfacing on Social media for job posts. Also, the main thing that the Workday Human capital management platform tool has going for it is that Workday can and often is used in other capacities and other applications, so employees …
Chose Workday HCM
UKG can have some security issues with new user profiles on personal experience and its harder to adapt for elderly users. We had many situations where support was slow to respond to our tickets as the platform glitched or failed sometimes, unlike Workday HCM where all users …
Chose Workday HCM
I do not remember the names of other ATS. But the last one I used were much more logical.
Chose Workday HCM
We do use Workday as the other HCM systems do not have a good built in communications channel. Choosing Workday was particularly easy due to its interface. Employees feel that they are on a social platform even when they are in office, which breaks the usual barriers to …
Chose Workday HCM
The workday human capital management stacks up against ADP due to the overall different features that we have got in a single platform. With Workday HCM, we do not have to select multiple vendors or tools to manage employees, salary details, career progress, etc. Also, the …
Chose Workday HCM
They are almost similar, to be honest. But because Workday was introduced to me first, I learned a lot from this software. Lattice comes close, but I think Workday was way easier to use.
Chose Workday HCM
Workday HCM helps my organization better align our corporate strategy with defined objectives and KPIs while managing the performance of team members to deliver results. The user interface and time tracking capabilities of Workday HCM are also best-in-class. The Workday cloud …
Chose Workday HCM
Workday is an incomplete product, by this I mean it must work alongside other products and does not work by itself. Trying to make several different products work smoothly together becomes very challenging. As compared to ADP products, when purchased all together work very well …
Chose Workday HCM
Oracle Cloud HCM and PeopleSoft HCM are well-defined tools for HRMS activities. Oracle Cloud HCM is super easy to use by end-users and gives all standard functions for HR activities. The personal information, career, performance are well defined in Oracle Cloud HCM. It's out of …
Chose Workday HCM
I'm not the decision-maker, only a user, so I haven't compared other products like Workday [Human Capital Management].
Chose Workday HCM
I have not worked with similar products in my career experience. Since we deployed Workday Human Capital Management, everything has been running smoothly. I will recommend this product due to its high performance records. It has developed and streamlined our plans effectively …
Chose Workday HCM
I did not make the personal selection, but Workday [Human Capital Management] hands down has way more capabilities than ADP time tracking used to be able to do. The software is intuitive and a "one stop shop" for relevant information, and helps employee efficiency when electing …
Chose Workday HCM
Again the ability to search for anything easily beats out a product like ADP. Getting into a profile or running a quick report or getting into security or any other items is super fast
Chose Workday HCM
Workday has more features that fit my company's needs.
Chose Workday HCM
Unfortunately, I do not recall the brands of the other human capital management software programs or tools I used at my current company or workplaces prior. I do think that is a testament to Workday with its strong branding and compelling features. I was not part of the …

In the service series, there is a weakness in applying revenue recognition concepts which are a strong point of the project series. It is difficult to get a period sensitive WIP that could be recreated at any time for a point in time (fiscal period).

I would say it's well suited in every environment because I think it does so much. It's like the holy grail of HRIS systems is what I like to call it because thinking about all parts of the employee lifecycle, it lives here in Workday Human Capital Management. So I love the fact that you can do the people data analytics, you can store employee records, the talent acquisition pieces there. I'm thinking I can't think of anything negative right now except for the fact that I can't drill down into the data for the people analytics side. Other than that, I think it's literally, yeah, the holy grail of HRIS systems, I love it and I would highly recommend it.

Pros
  • The accounting function of Infor ERP is designed very well and it is easy to use. From journal entries to generating a trial balance it only takes a few clicks to get what you need.
  • The job tracking process within Infor ERP is easy to understand. You can view the progress of each job a number of different ways and this helps users know how close each job is to the finish line at any time.
  • It is very easy to run month end processes that ensure all costs are accurate and then be ready for the next accounting period.

  • Ability to add companies, and sub-accounts on the fly allows for the growth of the system without conversions, and flexible reporting allows for the quick utilization of the data.
  • Multi-Company allows for easy and automated data entry and reporting across multiple legal entities and business segments.
  • Multi-Company also allows for easy centralization of business processes (AP check writing and Fixed Assets for example), while spreading data entry across the enterprise.
  • Ability to Copy/Paste into Dynamics SL has always been a strength- especially from Excel. The additional power of being able to use Excel for a myriad of calculations, including complex allocations, and formatting the result into a JE to paste directly into the Journal Entry Screen has saved countless hours in data-entry, and made re-use of complex items very easy.

  • Since it is cloud based, it does not have version control issues (e.g. get 10 years behind on versions that are no longer supported), or the need for constant upgrades. This is completed behind the scenes.
  • The flexibility of Workday HCM implementation and then taking it to day to day operations was superior. You can then blow and out and start using other system cababilities when ready.
  • To enter the system, we must use multi-factor authentication for additional security of employee data. A user downloads their reports and then they are shown in their archive of work transactions and history.

Cons
  • You need an IT person in order to customize reports, overcome system locks, etc. But, usually having an IT guy in house is a good thing as well.
  • There isn't auto lock future that would sign put users if they don't use the program for extended time.
  • Missing auto warning messages when you're about to run a big amount of data.
  • A continuous improvement (Lean) section with employee suggestions (ideas) ability would be great.
  • Updates for latest technological improvements usually come late.

  • When we have a lot of invoices rather than just a few large invoices, we can be frustrated by how long it takes Flexible Billings to generate a lot of invoices
  • It would be nice if Dynamics SL had an easy integration to some of the nicer salestax tools such as Avalara and CCH.
  • It would be nice if the fixed assets module and electronic banking were not third party.

  • The web interface is awful
  • Terrible, terrible, UI. No modern features like auto-save. I can't count the times I have lost work.
  • Their UX team (if it even exists) must be aliens, because I can't see how humans would have come up with the UI conventions they have.
  • Who creates a website application where you can't open stuff in multiple browser windows and tabs easily?

Other than the inherent pain of a new implementation, it's a great platform and Infor is a great partner to work with. Every system has problems, our are no worse than any other platform. Maybe even a little better, nothing to make us want to change platforms any time in the near future

Unfortunately, Dynamics' lack of ability to smoothly integrate with our CRM system is causing us to look at other solutions. The efficiencies that we gain by using Dynamics for our day to day accounting are lost in the constant headaches of getting sales quotes to import properly into the system for invoicing. Another major issue for us has been budgeting and reporting. We currently do all of our budgeting and board reporting in Excel, which is too time consuming and inefficient, especially when a system as robust as Dynamics should easily be able to handle this relatively simple task.

It is work to make one system the source of truth for our data, but now that it is done, there is less work involved in staying on this path. This means for us that maintaining and/or implementing new modules like performance, finance, talent, etc. is simple. It's a no-brainer

Usability
This is a highly configurable product. Where all available support provided by [Information] is very good and exceeds our expectations! The investment in this product by Infor continues to be significant and is showing results! Infor is going a long way and is here to stay! No doubt about that!

SL itself is relatively easy to use and most of the Help Files documentation is well kept and outstanding in the amount of information that is given. Most end users pick up the functions quickly and are off and running after some limited training. There will always be questions and research to be done, but overall SL is relatively easy to follow for a seasoned user

Overall this is a highly useable product. It does require continual use to stay current on changes in the User Interface and functionality, but as noted earlier, this is a reasonable trade-off for the rapid rate of improvement. It is very user friendly and the templated business processes prevents the system from becoming overly complicated

Reliability and Availability
No answers on this topic
We have had only one unplanned outage for 2 hours in the last 30 months. We shut down for 30 min to 1 hour once a month, but that is for Microsoft OS updates to the servers. Being a 24/7 world wide operation, the reliability is really important. We do get an 8 hour window on the weekend that we can be down for a short period to install Microsoft Dynamics SL updates, but we do not have many of those. On our last version upgrade, we shut the users out at 9:30 am and were fully operational in less than 6 hours. The upgrade was New SQL server, New SL server and 2 new Citrix servers.

In 2014, Workday has changed the update process. There will be two updates a year; the updates will be delivered to customers typically in a 24 hour window during these two weekends a year. They also keep the Community up-to-date about any planned outages, etc. There is weekly scheduled downtime on Friday night.

From my perspective, the system runs like a well oiled machine and I have not had any issues with customers complaining about speed. If a report is taking long to run, the report can run in the background and you can go about your business. For larger enterprises, there is additional space and machines to process the application in what Workday refers to it as Extended Configuration Tenant

Support Rating
The support is satisfactory, given the large user base of the product. We had no issues to meet our reporting deadlines with Lawson. The organizational support team internally are well trained and hence only on exceptional basis issues are escalated to Lawson support team. We had no negative experience so far with the support of Lawson.

Many times support will tell you that your issue is an identified bug and will be scheduled in the future to be fixed in a future release. The knowledgebase has gotten worse in recent years and much more difficult to use. many times you can't find the error during the search

Support is provided by OneSource, the reseller. They really have no expertise and their level of technical expertise is poor. When we went to our training, the room was filled with OneSource people going through the same training. We finished training in 1 day, they took 4 days. They are hardly experts. Workday has come out with two more releases since then and Onesource have doubled in size in the last year – so it’s hard to see how they can keep up.

There is an online community/portal that is pretty good. There is however no easy answer to “guided completion”

In-Person Training

Some training is offered online. Cost is per-person. This also gets quite expensive. Training doesn’t follow a logical path A to B. Starts in middle. When you try to do it afterwards at your desk, difficult.
• Training scenarios are not very real

I have done for report writing and mass imports (EIBs). They give materials and you run through examples, i.e. you don’t just watch them do tasks, so that is helpful. Training is expensive – a single reporting writing class is $600 per person for virtual training

Just to let it take its course. The implementation for me once I became a part of my former organization was pretty seamless. Just get to know the basics and call the support team to ask questions if you need help on an issue, should they arise. They are ready, willing, and able to help!

We had a small team - 5 of us total. It would have been nice to have a little larger team, but we made it work. Definitely helped that for our first payroll our 3rd party partner OSV was onsight. This minimized issues.

Alternatives Considered
We previously used Microsoft Navision and considered SAP, NetSuite and Sage in our selection process. Infor CloudSuite ERP was not a one size fits all solution like many of the others. Infor CloudSuite ERP has 3 cloud ERP for Distribution, Manufacturing and Service industries. In our case, Infor CloudSuite ERP also have a specific tract for food and beverage.

We started with QuickBooks Enterprise when our company was young. We quickly outgrew this program as it was not able to accommodate the financial reporting we needed to satisfy our investors. QuickBooks was also very limited in managing our revenue as we grew. We did try Great Plains and Peachtree (now Sage 50) and we discovered that they were rather complicated for our users. They were not as easy to maneuver and manipulate as SL and we felt that SL was much more "user friendly" and simplified, but still able to produce the same results.

The workday human capital management stacks up against ADP due to the overall different features that we have got in a single platform. With Workday HCM, we do not have to select multiple vendors or tools to manage employees, salary details, career progress, etc. Also, the workday human capital management is very easy to use in all the different use cases that I mentioned above.

Since the backbone of the database is MS SQLServer, the database can be easily scaled.

Workday has released Financials and is continuing to develop it's Human Capital Management footprint with the addition of Workday Recruiting. I think customers will find that is easy to add on additional functionality in the system. Workday does make it easy for customers to make changes without relying on IT resources. The Business Process framework is a visual tool that allows functional resources to make changes and see the flow of the transaction

Return on Investment
  • We've been a customer since the early 80's. Avoiding conversion has saved us an incalculable amount of money. Fortunately, Lawson has kept up enough to keep meeting our needs.
  • Having a self-service portal saves us internal FTEs in Human Resources and Accounting. Benefits enrollment alone likely saves us one Benefits Coordinator FTE alone.

  • Dramatic improvement in our ability to judge the profitability of jobs.
  • Lots of improvements in delivering invoices and statements to customers.
  • Automated AP approvals and imaging made our last tax audit a breeze.
  • Ease of reporting data is a big plus. Financial statements with drill down capability are very useful.
  • One integrated system means less data moving around and more real time information.
  • EFT payments, email statements and live linked Excel charts have improved our efficency
  • Too many more to name.

  • To get the most value out of all possible automation in Workday you really need to use a lot of their modules, otherwise you may not be able to solve for some pretty important and necessary needs.
  • The system maintenance is way more than what I have seen with some other systems and therefore you need a quite large team dedicated to it.
  • The ability to automate a lot of administrative tasks and the ability for employee and manager self-service definitely create a lot of opportunity for HR to spent time and effort elsewhere. A lot of the automation that can be leveraged in Workday also allows for eliminating third party vendors as well as the cost of their maintenance and integrations.
