Considered Multiple Products
Kaseya VSA
Chose Kaseya VSA
While Atera and NinjaRMM are both solid products, they seemed to be more oriented to MSPs which we aren't. There were more features associated with costs per user/system, etc. that we would never utilize.
Chose Kaseya VSA
We moved away from NinjaRMM for support of PowerShell scripting and APIs. Overall, the experience with NinjaRMM, though limited in features, was tenfold better than our experience with VSA.

We have been desiring strongly to move away from VSA to N-Central (having been provided a …
NinjaOne
Chose NinjaOne
Prior to switching to NinjaRMM, we ran it side-by-side with Kaseya VSA for about a year. Kaseya VSA does not even compare to NinjaRMM. Kaseya VSA feels very outdated in comparison. NinjaRMM is snappy and works well.
Chose NinjaOne
We found NinjaOne far more user friendly and less resource heavy than VSA. Our overall experience was greatly improved from VSA as we experienced many recurring issues with the agents. Additionally, NinjaOne was far more cost effective per endpoint and provided similar, or …
Chose NinjaOne
We came from Manage Engine and it is a night and day difference. I would never imagine going back after working with NinjaOne
Chose NinjaOne
Prior to NinjaOne, our IT management was a blank slate. We knew we needed something, and we wanted to ensure we were making the best decision for our organization. We attended demos and talked with sales reps, sales engineers, etc. At the end of the day, it was the relationship …
Chose NinjaOne
NinjaOne isn't the cheapest or the most expensive. However, it has the most functionality out of the other solutions that we looked at.
Chose NinjaOne
NinjaOne feels like it is way beyond its competitors. Their UI is fantastic, with the exception of no Dark Mode. It is very responsive and easy to navigate. Also, NinjaOne bills monthly with no contract commitment. This makes it much more accessible to smaller and medium-sized …
Chose NinjaOne
NinjaOne has more overall features than these competitors bundled in their package. Both of these other products have separate add-ons that will accomplish the additional features that NinjaOne bundles in. While it seems that both may be slightly more powerful when it comes to …
Chose NinjaOne
NinjaOne was cheaper and had a more robust platform. Other competitors didn't offer the same number of features or customer support.
Chose NinjaOne
Hands down the performance and features of NinjaOne is what puts the in front of the pack. They are not perfect, no RMM is, but they are up at the top. Being able to quickly navigate the system, access computers, and deploy policies makes our team more effective and our clients …

Kaseya
If the software functioned as it was intended, it would be probably a 7 out of 10. It lacks the majority of customization that SolarWinds N-central supplies, but also supports some customization that other solutions we have tried do not. Again, if the software didn't consistently break, the ability to implement automated scripting via PowerShell and the capacity to manage 10+ endpoints at once in different windows is great.

Well suited for support and management of a large fleet of endpoints, particularly across multiple regions and locations. Its well suited for MSPs for this reason. Its also effective for managing patching and updates for server infrastructure, where some other products are unable to manage. Its useful being able to access these features across multiple networks and domains. There is an option to monitor network equipment such as switches, but it didn't provide any information that wasn't already provided in the switches cloud portal.

It is mid-level when it comes to running it by a non-IT person. I have no technical/IT training and can figure out on my own (or with a little web search) how to do most tasks. It may not be best for the very tech-challenged operator.

Pros
Kaseya
  • Being able to see systems that are not within the local network allows us to be able to troubleshoot and work with the end users no matter where they are or where we are as it is cloud based.
  • Several functions can be "automated" so staff do not have to keep going back and scanning for updates, push Windows updates and or push sensor updates.
  • VSA offers a variety of system information about all of the assets that have the endpoints installed on them so we can easily see the system specs without having to actually connect to them and pull up the SysInfo on each unit.

  • Remote connections: the NinjaRemote client is spectacular and very easy to use and navigate. It quickly connects to customer systems so my engineers are able to work. As a bonus, they also offer a really good mobile app to connect to client systems.
  • Antivirus: Bitdefender Endpoint Protection is built directly into the NinjaOne portal. This makes deploying and maintaining AV very easy.
  • OS Patching: NinjaOne makes it very easy to handle patching across multiple clients and locations. It is very easy to use and doesn't take long to set up.
  • Support: NinjaOne support is always very prompt and helpful.
  • Documentation: the NinjaOne Dojo is a one-stop shop for all of your FAQs, guides, and forum needs. You can find almost anything here to help you deploy and maintain NinjaOne.
  • Automation Library: NinjaOne comes preloaded with a large number of ready-to-go automations. They also provide you with a scripting module to create your own.

Cons
Kaseya
  • Support - Like all other competitors support is OK but the product is robust enough to reduce support requirements.
  • Customer Service - another team that is a bit poor especially when the issue involves multiple departments. Otherwise, the direct rep is very friendly and professional.

  • NinjaOne does support Mac, however I would like to have more options for automation and scheduled task on Mac devices.
  • I would like it if NinjaOne also provided an MDM solution.
  • It would be nice is NinjaOne could integrate a PAM solution as well.

  • Interface is a little difficult to get Hands On. It can be simplified for better adaptability
  • XDR compatibility should be enhanced
  • More simplified white-books should be provided to train the non tech teams
  • Commercially also the cost should be improved for different industry segments

Usability
Kaseya
I think this is a solid tool for enterprise IT, however it would be higher if Kaseya VSA addresses the areas raised around recent stability, their support team, multiple session & screen support etc. It does do it's main job and allows an easy way for IT to operate and is mostly fine.

NinjaOne is easy to use, intuitive, and provides great value for our organization specifically with inventory tracking and patch management. There is also a wealth of control from an RMM perspective that we have over our fleet of hardware as well as customer websites. The communications with our account representative is outstanding as well. I'd highly recommend for organizations to engage with NinjaOne, and this is from a user who's used other RMM's and related software offerings at different MSP's. Go NinjaOne!

I am pretty satisfied with Sophos Central Device Encryption's overall capabilities. It is easy to implement and ultimately brings more peace of mind because fewer tickets are generated. As a result, security within the organization is also improved. Another significant advantage is that you can quickly see the statuses in real time on the dashboards. This gives you a better overview and reduces the chance of missing minor security settings.

It was lots of back and forth email communication whenever I tried to solve my connection issues. I would send them detailed logs of the date, time, computer, and more of when I was experiencing connection issues. All I would get is an email back a few days later saying that they didn't find an issue in the service

It was nice and self paced learning. The sections were easy to understand and the functionality was very worthwhile. The online training was very easy to learn and intuitive. I did not feel the need to ask for any clarification or assistance with any of the sections. I am still learning a lot of the functions but fined it very easy to use.

There are other products that do some of what Kaseya does, but I've not personally worked with another product that does everything Kaseya does. Sure there are plenty of remote control products, but products that do as much as Kaseya are few and far between. Hard to go wrong with the sheer scope of functionality!

At that time, we chose Sophos based on the reputation and our partnership with our partner. And in general Sophos could give us more benefit than other competitors with the similar solution. However we do not feel comfortable to disclose information about comparison with other solutions. Despite that, we think Sophos could deliver our requirements very well with the cost that were reasonable for us.
