I've used SalesNavigator and Zoom Info. I actually think that Ranking is a great solution if you can use it in tandem with SalesNavigator. When it comes to pulling lists, in my opinion, Ranking does it best. Now that it has the database combined with Discoverorg, it's even more …

We recently switched to ZoomInfo, which we believe is perfectly equal to RainKing (DiscoverOrg).

We did not renew with RainKing. We chose to go with InsideView, Ibis World and FactSet which provide more accurate data and have very supportive customer satisfaction and account managers. We feel we receive a lot of support in better understanding how to leverage the products, …

I have used Data.com via Salesforce, which I think the org chart and industry feature is easier to understand in Rainking. DiscoverOrg, it has been a while since I used it but I remember liking it. I think the information was not as accurate as the information of Rainking.
Chose RainKing (discontinued)
Hands down best tool in its space! The information provided across all levels is unmatched, whether it is about technology or initiatives or org charts or just getting a prospects contact info, I trust Rainking more than any other tool available.

RainKing is far better than InsideView. The information is much more current and correct. RainKing was selected for its focus on IT management and the hygiene of its information. InsideView was very compatible with Salesforce and was actually featured on the Salesforce …

It ends up that their datasets didn't have a huge crossover so, having used both, I can say that they both had very high-quality datasets. Now that they're one company they have the best data in the world for IT (to my knowledge). Between the two companies, I would say that the …

This fares well against Sales Navigator because of having the e-mail address and phone number. With LinkedIn Sales Navigator, it does match up well with RainKing when it comes to exporting to Salesforce. I do enjoy being able to see the picture of the individual, as LinkedIn …

RainKing is awesome if your organization is planning on using it to help you acquire more targeted leads that fit well in the space you are going after. I love that there is no limit as to how many companies you can go after. The CSM that I worked with (Will Elchorn) did a superb job of answering any and all questions that I had.

Well, I've been using SAP Sales Cloud for 6 months now so my conclusions are that if your employees are techy friendly then I would recommend It, but if they are quite not used to advanced CRM tools could be a bit overwhelming at first. Pricing it's okay thought, compares to other tools I've used previously.

Pros
  • Being able to search for companies that are currently evaluating solutions in your space.
  • The contact information for people and related people is also great, I have used dozens of other data solutions and prefer Rainking.
  • Rainking also gives you the ability to create lists of your ideal buyer and download them which was great for my team and I pull new contacts to prospect!
  • I can't get over how impressive the org chart info is in RainKing, it allowed myself and my team to find other involved prospects and get a good feel for organizations.

Cons
  • I'm not a fan of my account manager. He's not the most responsive.
  • There are limitations to the software (ex: I've found several instances where I get a message that says I need to pay more to get information about certain people/companies).

  • One area of concern is the many data silos that are present within SAP sales cloud
  • While creating filters for accessing sales lead reports, the accuracy is missing sometimes.
  • The product is quite vast and a lot more learning material and knowledge base documents are required.

I know what SAP CRM can do in the future. We are very happy with the product and think it is a great choice for both SAP ERP users and even those who do not use other SAP products. We have both Salesforce and SAP CRM, and we feel that Salesforce is a good product for a few years, but SAP CRM is a more fully-featured product and is a better choice for complex organizations capable of running installed software of this complexity. It is often just a question of budget.

Support Rating

SAP's customer service is quick and efficient, with a response time of fewer than some minutes. In either case, you'll get instant help from the vendor or online forums. In addition, the vendor provides excellent global support for this tool. Like Salesforce, SugarCRM, etc., it's probably fine as a standalone CRM option.

Implementation Rating

I would rate the implementation a 7. While the process overall was successful, there were challenges related to data migration, integration with other systems, and initial user adoption. However, the support from SAP during the implementation phase was helpful, and we were able to resolve the major issues as the process progressed.

Alternatives Considered
We actually originally went with another product but changed our minds because of the price. While it may be pricey, it costs less than other products we looked at; however, this doesn't include [the hefty price tag that comes with] federal data. We're still deciding whether to purchase government/federal data. I also really like RK's customer support - they seemed very nice and genuinely wanted to make sure we were getting the best ROI.

Return on Investment
  • In general can help with more accurate targeting (competitors provide more accurate and granular department designations)
  • It can help with account penetration since it does provide the family tree and it is quite accurate
  • Alerts do help in understanding companies initiatives (however competitors do provide similar service)
