SAP [Customer Data Solutions] is definitely a tool to use for managing a large individual database, especially globally. The question is more related to which methodology to use for implementing it between screen sets or APIs. In case you have to handle multiple languages, APIs should be the best option for you. Otherwise, screen sets would work well.

WatchGuard AuthPoint

Watchguard AuthPoint works well for securing VPN on Watchguard firewalls and windows computers. It works well on any SAML authentication as well as M365. It doesn’t work well with the Microsoft Exchange server 2013. I wanted to set this up on an exchange server but you need a bigger firewall to act as a reverse proxy for that scenario. I would say it’s less appropriate

  • Ease of use, the mobile app is very ease to use once set up.
  • For companies that may have employees that are not comfortable using their personal smart phone for this MFA service, WatchGuard offers a hardware token solution. It's like a mini stop watch keychain that allows the MFA service to function without a smart phone.
  • Setting up new MFA accounts is ease, you can simply scan a QR code or do a quick manual setup.

  • Nothing obvious. Some editors and traffickers want a more detailed analytics package. Gigya reports are pretty basic. There is a strong need for more advanced analytics and automated reports.
  • We have talked to Gigya about it, and they are working on it.

  • Remove the use of Java. I didn't like the dependence and it caused problems early on prior to me realizing what was happening.
  • The addition of "operators" could be streamlined. I should be able to easily select an existing AuthPoint user to be added as an operator (i.e., one of my IT staff).
  • The timeout graphic/visualization on the mobile app sometimes confuses users who think that something is wrong even after approving the notification.

We mostly work with the API which is of very good quality and is well documented.However, some of our success is also due to having very talented developers on staff, and also understanding advanced gamification design. The tool supports a talented team! It won't actually do everything for you automatically.

WatchGuard AuthPoint is very user friendly, with minimal interaction needed to both set it up, and to maintain it's continued use. The log in interface is easily understood, with clear and easily understood icons to allow for different methods of authentication. The WatchGuard team is constantly improving their Login app, which is constantly improving the user interface, allowing for a smoother and quicker login process.

Like I have mentioned, I have never discovered any drawback on SAP Customer Data Solutions. It’s readily available 24/7/12/365 with no downtime. I am sure if there would some time in the future, the vendor support team will rapidly solve the issue.

There are some latency issues. The 24 hour caching problem mentioned earlier is a problem. Sometimes the Gigya system makes two calls instead of a single call if we go directly to the social platform. For this reason, it's sometimes more efficient to go direct rather than use Gigya.

It was an Onsite demo at the ditributor with the benefits of Watchguard Authpoint. Was very nice to see the abilities of the product. This Demo was a few years back, since then Authpoint changed allot. It is very nice for partners that you can get this demo without any aditional cost.

They trained me in a train the trainer model. I then trained the internal team. Total training was about two hours, with an additional two hours for system setup.
Training was maybe a little thin, but the system was fairly easy to learn and this wasn't really a problem.

You can use this for the Watchguard Partner Program which can give you aditional benefits. Every now and then you have a webinar that discusses multiple Watchguard products.

WatchGuard AuthPoint has similar or more features than both Duo and Microsoft 365 Azure MFA. Its setup guides are much more fleshed out than Microsoft's and it is priced lower than both options. As long as your options for the 3 years licensing.
