Offering the ability to take analytics to the next level is another positive impact Qlik Sense has had here. Every developer is free to build extensions and use tools such as Python in building extensive machine learning and AI based solutions.

It is possible to connect Qlik Sense either in the script or at front end level to ML engines like R. This allows moving from descriptive analysis to more advanced AA, moving to predictive and later prescriptive analytics. Main challenge here is to make business follow the technology and finding use cases in a field that evolves more quickly than most business areas.

For dashboard creation, it depends on the quality of your data and number of your measures and dimensions. For example, if you have lots of measures and lots of dimensions, the Insight offered by Qlik Sense will pick those data randomly. Sometimes it causes the result of automatic dashboard generation, which is useless for you. If you have only one measure and a few dimensions, then yes, it can be pretty useful.

The fact that Qlik Sense allows the access and the preparation of huge databases open our mind in term of what we can do with data. It is so easy to link information and visualize it that questions come naturally and push us to ask for more and more information. The way this system is designed is easy to understand and really helps thinking differently about how to use data.

While my team tends to push for pristine data models built through Load Script, other departments have leveraged the cognitive learning that Qlik Sense offers to build the best dashboards possible. We benefit from the speed this offers in development, but we still have the option to apply detailed governance on top of the end product.

To be honest we are a relatively basic organization when it comes to our analytics needs (or at least that is the current state of the play) but having these more advanced features in the product provides our organization that once our maturity gets there then the product will be able to keep up with our needs (as well providing us confidence that our selected product is able to be compared to other players in the same software domain).

This is not something we use in our current version of Qlik. I have seen it demonstrated when attending a Qlik learning webinar. The natural language feature looks to be a nice tool to have. I will make it easier for end-users to discover new insights.
