We consume data from various sources. Qlik Sense has made this easier by providing most popular connectors out of box. Also the ease of use of ODBC connectivity has made is further easy to expand and add additional sources.

We basically have all possible scenarios, from SAP to Oracle, passing by SQL, Excel data or even cloud services that require the use of an API for gathering results. The ability of getting data from all this sources and to create dashboards that combine them is a invaluable added value to the organization and the ability to improve decision making.

We currently use a single data source. The underlying data comes in the form of Excel spreadsheets which are compiled through the manual review of expense reports in our expense reporting tool. The reviewer looks for specific policy violations and records them in a multi tab Excel workbook which Qlik consumes and creates easily read charts and graphs.

Our customers had data from heterogeneous sources and the volume was also huge. So when we were proposing a BI tool to the customer we couldn't think of anything else other than Qlik Sense because no other reporting tool can support the extraction and transformation of huge complex data from different sources. Also, the associative model of QlikSense has helped us a lot!!

Creating a data model is extremely easy in Qlik Sense, we just need to import data from the source, and Qlik Sense supports all the data sources. So once data is imported, Qlik Sense makes the model automatically by understanding the keys. Then these data models can be viewed from the Qlik Sense model viewer and can change easily if required.
Qlik Sense engine is faster than the SQL engine, so importing that in Qlik Sense is much faster than importing in any other tool. Once data import and data model is created, Qlik Sense has the ability to provide very smart charts and data visualization techniques which provides us the very good looking dashboards. Once the dashboard is done, we simply need to import the dashboard from the Qlik Sense hub and export it to the Qlik Sense production environment and then we can publish that with one click only.

Not involved in this process, however can confirm that multiple data sources are used and combined into one area which has been fantastic. Creating relationships has been valuable, especially when looking at individual customer behaviours/patterns in a specific geographic area as an example.

Our organization has data in many different data sources including Greenplum, DB2, Oracle, Amazon Redshift, Azure, Snowflake, Excel, Google Sheets, SQL Server, Essbase, Access, Sales Force, SharePoint, Web files. Qlik Sense is able to ingest easily and create a data model from these various sources without using another ETL tool.

We have operational data scattered in many locations using different technology. The greatest achievement is Qlik has SAP Connector which enables us to utilize SAP Extractor. This way, data extraction from SAP has minimal impact on server performance. The validity of data itself is guaranteed, since it utilizes a standard SAP program.

We have been using Qlik Sense to create a supply chain app. This one allows us to connect to 3 different systems and gather in a central place a lot of information, very useful for our logistic team. The capability to connect and collect data from multiple sources and then create a model that links all of this information together really made us save time and start making some of our decisions smarter.

Millions of records, hundreds of data sources, thousands of fields with misaligned naming and data, some clean others needing cleaning, Qlik Sense made the task to join and develop the views needed to understand where gaps were.

We have a large collection of varied data sources (Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, hundreds of Excel workbooks, other non-Microsoft SQL databases, R and Python scripts, RESTful APIs, and much more) and Qlik Sense very elegantly allows that data to be reshaped, cleansed, and related with powerful syntax. The Data Manager also allows end users to pull data together in a friendly user interface.

As mentioned earlier in the review, we have definitely benefited from these data blending features. It is a scripted (syntax-based rather than drag and drop) development environment when it comes to data ingestion so in that way it is very flexible and a lot can be done if the developer puts their mind to it.
Datasets are easily shared and can also be restricted by security rules so the collaboration is well-balanced with the governance aspects. The Data Catalog tool is not something we opted for (as it is also an extra licensing aspect there) so it would be great if it was also incorporated into the main product instead of being sold as an additional optional product.

Our instance of Qlik connects to over fifty Google sheets that are in use by our field reps, Salesforce.com, NetSuite, our internal product, and our professional services tool. Using Qlik we are able to merge all of these data sets together and create charts and dashboards on the same page. This single view of our business was the biggest benefit from Qlik.
