What is Tidal by Redwood?

Tidal Automation, from Redwood Software since the early 2023 acquisition, is an enterprise workload automation platform for automating and orchestrating cross-application, cross-platform workloads – in on-prem, cloud or hybrid environments – from one central point of control. Tidal is used to optimize mission-critical business processes, manage SLAs, improve use of IT resources and meet regulatory audit and compliance requirements. Although Tidal has a 35+ year history, the vendor describes their continual commitment to innovate, with a product development cycle that includes launching three major releases per year.

The Tidal Automation platform is designed to be implemented in days, not weeks. The user interface aims to make it quick and easy to accomplish the tasks at hand.

Boasting a small footprint, a single instance of Tidal manages thousands of processes and applications, and hundreds of thousands of jobs per day. As the user's automation needs grow, they can expand the Tidal environment to meet business and operational requirements.

The vendor collaborates with Tidal's user community to define and deliver customer-driven enhancements to their solutions. Their first-line technical support is provided by engineers; there’s no “tier 1” or escalation process customers have to go through.

As sales operation Analyst, in our organization we work on multiple reports in a day which requires jobs to run frequently and due to this we had to manually schedule the jobs every time which was often time consuming and led to manual errors.
Thanks, to Tidal automation and its features which allowed scheduling of multiple jobs automatically without any manual intervention which in turn lowered manual errors.

Tidal automation is one of the best automation tool in managing the workload of an organization. The best part is that It's directly connected to the heart of our system where we runs more than 6000 jobs on the daily basis. It helps us to save a lot of time by doing all the repetitive tasks very efficiently with no error. We run all the batch jobs where it automatically monitors all the jobs by giving insights of how many jobs are failed, running, stopped and waiting for dependencies. It is among the greatest tools available for both monitoring and scheduling tasks at various frequencies.

As a Senior Analyst for Sales Operations I do handle a lot of Reporting, Visualization and Analysis which includes preparing data, uploading data on to Database, Extract data, prepare visualization and reports. Publish the reports, analyze business trends and share insights.
This involves a lot of manual tasks which needs to be repeated more often, Tidal automation has rapidly brought down the frequency of a same task being repeated multiple times.
All that we need to do is set-up configure and schedule the tasks and it does the job perfectly with minimal errors and high accuracy.
The buil-in customization feature enables us to set-up requirements as per the needs of your Stakeholders and just get the dashboard ready on your finger tips.

Tidal Automation is the new word for workload automation, Just setup and forget!!!!<br>As a lead senior on account you have numerous tasks to do and at time it is inevitable that you do it all. Here is when tidal automation becomes your life saver. First things first, forget about preparing daily status decks for the stakeholders, you get aa inbuilt customizable dashboard, set it as per your requirements and here you go. For the rest of the lifecycle just pull up the deck and present, it's that simple. View all jobs - scheduled, completed, ready, error, etc. This save a lot of time and effort on daily basis. We run thousands of jobs on tidal on a monthly basis, minimizing the staff and maximizing the ROI. The next wow factor is I can monitor all the jobs on the go, on the mobile application.

Tidal Automation is a tool which is used to schedule, automate and manage things in a way is easier while functioning and working on it. Some of the business problems and scope of use are: 1. Tidal is working towards hybrid solution (i.e) where most of the applications now are converting from on-prem to Azure environments. 2. GUI is an area where it can be improved, making more user-friendly and attractive by improving its functionality as it sometimes gets little busy and time-consuming. 3. Also, whenever there a bug/issue in Tidal we are reaching out to/ raising a case with TIDAL team so they help us in identify it which may sometime delay and if its production environment it leads to loss of revenue which may eventually leads to customers trust in product.

The most efficient way of handling the automated tasks in tedious jobs. One of the best featues in the automation tool is the triggers which are the functional alerting part of the application. They will help the users in getting a alert while the job is going on and when they are done. The other is the scheduler itself while it plays a major role in allocating the tasks for the automation tool.

We use Tidal mainly for scheduling and running SAP and Data Warehouse jobs. It is a single pane of glass that our operators use to monitor the daily jobs. They have the runtime instructions in the acknowledgement so DW will no if they should rerun job and or if it is critical. This company has the business owners create and maintain their own jobs which is quite different than any of the other places that I have worked. They have a development/test environment and production environment and use transporter to move from one to another.

We use Tidal Automation to run batch jobs for our payroll system, which is typically a few hundred jobs a night. We also use it to run IT-related jobs such as backups, system checks, maintenance, FTP transfers, etc.

Tidal Automation enables our business to have a graphical view into the schedule as well as control. If a job aborts, the schedule can pause or continue by using the events available. Our business is notified through these events so they can take action immediately for time sensitive jobs.

Job flow versatility is important to our business. Tidal Automation has many different options handling job dependencies that fulfill our needs.

Tidal Automation has been in our environment for a while now, probably since 5.x.x version days. We have leveraged the integrations of Oracle and Lawson ERPs and have been of great help in running several jobs every day on time. It helps us to have the end users run their ERP jobs without any dependency on the core team, also ensuring the security/SOX compliances.

We use Tidal Automation TA) to schedule and run the majority of our Enterprise Batch Processes. This includes our Claims, Policy, and Billing Processes. We have also automated with TA the sending of our document and checks to our printers for automated printing. We use TA to transfer files using SFTP to and from our enterprise the majority of our recurring file transfers. As our Enterprise Batch Processing is mission critical, we have implemented fault tolerance and have a backup master waiting to take over if the primary master presents an issue which allows our Enterprise Batch Processes to continue working 24 hours 7 days a week.

We have recently migrated our data center to Azure, to save the cost on VM we are using Azure Adapter which is much beneficial to reduce the cost of VM's which is used by development team to deallocate or shutdown during weekend and take snapshot of the VM's .
It helped us to centralize monitoring of all systems and also send report of critical jobs. With tidal Automation new features we have integrated it with ServiceNow which will create incident automatically and update notes based on action taken on the job.
