Overall Satisfaction with Tidal Automation

Used for scheduling of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly batch processing scripts on Linux and Windows servers.
  • Easy to use
  • Stable platform
  • Great support desk
  • Continually enhances product
  • Well designed and easy to under database structure
  • Comprehensive API
  • API is poorly documented
  • I would like to be able to code Python, Powershell, Linux in Tidal rather than have to call a file on the server
  • Agent updates must be applied manually or using third-party tools
  • Limited variable functionality, no string manipulation, limited numeric manipulation
  • You do not need a large staff to support Tidal. Users can be easily trained to use Tidal. In the three companies where I used Tidal two admins were sufficient to support Tidal.
I liked the ability to write code directly within Automic. I understood the logic of the "object oriented" design of the user interface, but I felt it was confusing to understand and troubleshoot.

You don't have to look too deep into Control-M to see it's mainframe roots. The user interface works, but is dated.

Do you think Tidal by Redwood delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Tidal by Redwood's feature set?

Yes

Did Tidal by Redwood live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Tidal by Redwood go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Tidal by Redwood again?

Yes

Tidal is easy to use and can accomplish quite a lot with fill-in-the-blank forms. There is integration with many standard third-party tools with more always being added based on industry trends.

The API is powerful and comprehensive, but lacks good documentation.

The agent service is lightweight and scales well.

Calendar support for scheduling is unmatched.

Versioning support is kludgy and migrating between DEV, QA and Prod needs work.
