Upland PSA formerly (Tenrox) is a modular cloud project management, service delivery and billing solution that is designed to support globally dispersed customers and project workers who are operating in multiple remote locations, currencies, tax jurisdictions and time zones. Tenrox automates project requests and approvals, resource scheduling and management, time and expense tracking, and project billing and invoicing. Upland PSA also includes configurable cost and billing rules with full support for time and material, fixed bid, recurring, and milestone-based projects. Also supported are general, requisite features common to most project management software (e.g. document management, skill set allocation, time management, etc).
Tenrox has caused headaches across offices and the frustrations with reporting is huge. It's been great to have a starting point to track hours and try to see what is billable and non-billable, but after this was implemented across our company where are seeing the negative ROI as its been so difficult to pull these reports accurately across teams, individuals, and clients!
Tenrox enabled our company to continue to grow at an extremely high rate of speed and keep up with the payroll and invoicing needs that were changing along the way. We were in a manual system for processing previously with about 75 employees total and more than doubled in 6 months which made our process very difficult.
Tenrox provided reporting to track charges that were not being billed that could be, allowed us to change the way employees entered billable and non-billable time, improved efficiency of administrative team and project managers.
Tenrox allows us to provide detailed work reports for our clients to show description of services provided by running a single report over a given amount of time without having to keep hand written files that provided the same information previously.
Tracking, tracking, tracking. It keeps the data we need and gives us the ability to look at it in countless different ways with just a few clicks, which is a big time saver. Without Tenrox, we would definitely have to increase our headcount in order to accomplish billing and payroll.
We recently were able to automate a huge portion of business that was still (yes, still in 2014!) being managed out of an Excel spreadsheet. We experienced a great deal of resistance to the change with our own employees, however now that we have it going we have cleaned up our invoicing and impressed the highest-financial officer for two consecutive months - our first/only two months billing directly from Tenrox for that group.
A newer development for our team - Some client managers in the other divisions our company have begun to look at what we are able to do with Tenrox and our other primary system and get some of their work moved over to our group. This is great and is giving us new opportunities - we will likely need to increase the headcount of our admin. team, but for a good reason (too much work coming our way!).
