Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite

We use Hootsuite for social media management, competitor analysis, and campaign analytics. Hootsuite addresses all of these.

Pros

  • Social media post planning
  • Custom Reports
  • Easy sharing drafted posts to stakeholders
  • Basic social listening
  • Competitor benchmarking

Cons

  • Basic Social Listening
  • Sharing analytics reports
  • Inbox
  • Streams
  • During a weeklong campaign we were able to grow our followers by 17%
  • Our team has cut their time from planning to post down by 30%
I gave it a 7 because there is a learning curve. The UI can be a little confusing for those who aren't familiar with using social media management tools. Also the categorization of functions makes it hard to decipher how to find things. But once you learn it, it's very seamless
Our org never used a social media management tool before. Before Hootsuite we would be using a combination of Google sheets and posting on each social media channel natively. It was very time consuming and we often had mispellings because Google Sheets doesn't do a spellcheck. With Hootsuite, we've been able to use bulk upload and preview the posts before they go live to ensure consistency.
Our team had a budget of $1000 annually for a social media management tool. We wanted functionality like Sprout Social but we couldn't afford the price tag. Hootsuite was our next best because we got almost all or similar functions of Sprout Social within our budget and more! The other tools we researched also didn't offer as much as Hootsuite did.

Do you think Hootsuite delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Hootsuite's feature set?

Yes

Did Hootsuite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Hootsuite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Hootsuite again?

Yes

Hootsuite is well suited for small to medium orgs who have an established social media following and want to grow or engage more with their audience. Hootsuite might not work for a super large org like Disney
