Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training
We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training for security awareness training and phishing simulations, as well as to assess our security culture and proficiency. We're doing this because we understand that the human element is the most critical part of securing a company. Instead of spending countless hours coming up with training materials and phishing templates manually, we use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to do this for us.
Pros
- Very diverse and numerous training materials
- Large phishing template set
- Best sender domains compared to its competitors
Cons
- Campaign settings are overwhelming and non-intuitive
- While the domains available for sending phishing emails are numerous, they are still often obviously fake
- Certain features are locked away behind paid addons, when they should be incorporated in the base tool/licence, e.g. PhishER. It's fine that, for example, Compliance+ is an added feature, but PhishER is practically integral to the task KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training performs
- While we cannot provide any hard numbers, it is easy to observe that people succumb to phishing a lot less since implementing KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training. There's really nothing else to say, because that's the primary goal of the tool
People prefer different types of training materials, so it's nice to have something for everyone. It's also good that the materials are regularly updated because the threat landscape changes rapidly. Speaking of different training materials, KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training has a lot of licenses, which lock away materials depending on the tier you've opted for. This ties in with a previous licensing issue mentioned. The tiers and add-ons should be reduced and a lot of these pay-walled things integrated into a single, base KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training license.
We use AD sync, it's the most accurate and time efficient method.
Phish prone % and training completion %, especially divided by offices/locations
- Hoxhunt and Infosec IQ
As stated, larger volume of potential sender domains, larger phishing template and training material library.

KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training Feature Ratings
KnowBe4 Compliance Plus
The quality is high, and the impact it is having is that people enjoy it more, and there's something for everyone
We do not use Compliance+, if that is the question
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training New Features
They have made managing users completely hassle-free. We have integrated user provisioning with our AD, and it's working almost flawlessly. Sometimes there's an issue, but it's resolved promptly on our side.
We do not use AI because it's a paid addition to the base KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training license. In my opinion AI should be a part of any and all basic licenses of KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training.
Using KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training
All, KnowBe4 training is given to all employees, irrespective of role or location
1 - Just myself, the IT Security Analyst. The only skill really needed is inquisitiveness
- Teaching employees about security threats
- Evaluating their knowledge through phishing simulations
- Keeping track of security culture and proficiency changes across time
- When the time comes to renew the license I'd like to look into PhishER+, HRM+, SecurityCoach, and such
Evaluating KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training and Competitors
- Other
The deciding factor was the sender domains. KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training had the most extensive list of these, and they were the most similar to authentic domains (e.g. adobe.com, microsoft.com, etc)
I would not change anything
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal
- Ensuring all the adequate AD OUs synced properly, and that the sync functions without a hitch

No - the product does not support adding custom code
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training Support
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved No escalation required Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | Not kept informed Difficult to get immediate help Need to explain problems multiple times |
We did not, because it's an added cost?
Yes - We have not been notified of its resolution, so it is safe to assume that it remains unresolved
I guess we can call timely responses as exceptional. Other than that the support is, well, what one would expect, no more nor less than that
Using KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
Technical support not required Familiar | Do not like to use Unnecessarily complex Difficult to use Not well integrated Slow to learn Cumbersome Feel nervous using |
- Nothing really, everything is too complicated
- Maybe we can say that user provisioning is elegant, if you integrate with AD or SCIM
- Setting up campaigns
- Picking out training materials
- Picking out phishing templates
- Getting meaningful reports
Yes, but I don't use it
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training Reliability
Integrating KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training
- AD? If that is the question
We've integrated KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training with AD for user provisioning, primarily because that was the only option supporting group provisioning, and we need that in order to facilitate job role specific training.
