Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

At my organization, we use Monday as our primary project management tool. Because we are a small org without someone serving in a dedicated project management role, Monday has been a vital part of our workflow. In particular, in my department, Monday is used as the central hub for every creative project, our content calendar, and to track metrics for content performance. Monday is also utilized by our systems team for support tickets.
  • Monday is very flexible in display options for each board, which allows for a lot of customizability to the needs of specific kinds of tasks. Switching between spreadsheet and calendar views has been very helpful for tracking content deadlines.
  • Monday offers notification customizability that allows you to determine what is worth being notified for.
  • Monday's test lab allows for beta testing different functions. Having that transparency into what the company is considering implementing is helpful, and it allows me to feel like I have a vote on what direction they should go in.
  • Customizability is king on Monday, which includes even the visual design. I love the option of dark mode.
  • The menus do not feel as intuitive and helpful as they could be.
  • I would love to see subitems broken down into more levels than just 3.
  • The inbox feature takes a lot of tweaking to really make it work.
  • Time has been saved due to streamlining our workflow.
  • There is a strong coherence in our creative team; Monday allows us to stay on the same page.
  • Having a central place for reports to live galvanizes us in knowing what weak content and marketing areas to shore up.
Overall, Monday is exceptionally customizable. This means that users have the ability to really tailor its functions to their individual needs. It does not try to force one template on all users. The options for automation are exceptional. However, there is definitely an extent to which it's so many features that it can be overwhelming for new users. Not every feature is named in a way that is intuitive for everyone to find. The initial learning curve is quite a steep one.
In the past, Monday has always provided appropriate support when our team needed it. Occasionally it has not been quite as timely as we might like, which is the only reason for a lower than perfect rating. Overall, however, the support timing and insight into problems has proved to be quite sufficient for our needs. There has never been a moment where we felt stranded with an issue.
Monday has performed very well in terms of bug-free functionality. I cannot think of any time when a feature has not performed as promised. Especially because of the excellent use of the test lab, it seems like most bugs are worked out in beta. This is an excellent model for developing an effective application. This means that we don't ever have to waste time-fighting with Monday.com.

Monday is incredibly helpful for collaboration and project management. Especially for teams where there is not an assigned project manager, Monday can serve as a central hub for communication. This is particularly helpful in project-oriented settings like marketing and creative, where at any given time there are many projects in progress at once. Monday serves as a central hub where individual projects can be seen in context with each other. With their "My Work" feature, you can easily see which projects you're assigned to. For teams of just two or three, it might be less effective. Maintaining clean Monday boards and tweaking workflows is a significant time investment, and if that burden is not able to be shared between either one dedicated person or a collaborative team, then it would become cumbersome. There has to be enough slack in the work hours to allow for time spent on management.

monday.com & Collaboration

At my organization, Monday is used for collaboration across all departments. In particular, it has been helpful for integrating Systems and Marketing. This allows for Marketing to easily collaborate on needed reports and metrics from Systems. It has also been helpful for collaboration on campaigns. For example, given that I work at an NGO, fundraising season often contains multiple major campaigns that Advancement and Marketing are collaborating on. Monday allows us to stay on the same page, even when there are many moving parts.
I would rate the project management capabilities at 9 out of 10.
I very rarely have moments where I look for a feature that Monday does not have when it comes to project management. The only additional thing I would like would be more layers of subitems becoming possible. This would allow for breaking out task groups and hierarchies better.
