Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for both payroll and Human Resources functions. We do everything from recruiting through separation and COBRA using Paylocity and find it very user-friendly. Any issues I've had that have required me to contact Customer Service for assistance, they have always been responsive and helpful. I appreciate the Community section where all the employees can interact, and as a Manager, Data Insights gives me access to metrics that help me with reporting and planning. Our insurance interacts with the payroll and HR features which makes administering benefits all that much easier. Overall it meets the needs of our company and is easy to navigate.

Pros

  • Payroll
  • Performance Reviews
  • Community
  • Data - Metrics

Cons

  • Supervision sections, check in (other than journals)
  • Easier time capturing for payroll - interfacing with other software
  • Easier to add own choices to drop downs and templates
  • Turnover tracking by dept and manager
  • Reduced missed reports with reminders
  • Data insights
Allows all SMT to participate in employee engagement. Allows employees access to their information easily, avoids paperwork backup/misplaced papers. I've only been using it for a year and continue to find hidden tasks it does that helps.
We have not used this portion yet. This is our goal for this year; to have all staff engaged and involved with Community and use that as our Communications Hub.
Most have the same features, or the capability to access those features, so it's a matter of how you build your platform

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

It is appropriate for small to mid-size companies, we have about 100 and it's helpful. For businesses that want a lot of freedom to create unique templates and features. If you are operating a large HR department, it may require tweaking.

Using Paylocity

85 - Landscape Construction, Irrigation, Seasonal Services, General Landscaping Maintenance, Fine Gardening, Property Enhancements and Snow Removal
1 - HR Dept of 1.
  • Ease of Use
  • Going Paperless
  • Efficiency
  • Community and Badges
  • Additional Fields to track other information
  • Move towards time and labor
  • Learning
There is always room for improvement. Paylocity has proven it can adapt to the changing needs of businesses.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

I would put more emphasis on what kind of personal support is given to smaller businesses.

Paylocity Implementation

Was not part of process
  • Unsure
  • Lack of buy in from staff at the time

Paylocity Training

Configuring Paylocity

It seems to be growing at a healthy rate.
Administrators could have a few more abilities to personalize their platform.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - We did need to adopt an API for payroll.

Paylocity Support

We went through a lot of AM's - the one we have now is great, but I feel I'm being pushed to use AI and PEAK vs. a live person.
ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Immediate help available
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
None
Unclear what this is.
My AM walked me through a very stressful situation and I came out of it feeling much better and had confidence in our new AM (we've had challenges in the past with others).

Using Paylocity

Always room for improvement
ProsCons
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Lots to learn
  • Onboarding
  • Recruiting
  • Journals
  • Performance Reviews
  • Workflows

Paylocity Reliability

At first we had two locations in different states and it was easy to navigate
Seems like it's never down and I've always been able to solve urgent problems, quickly.
Works well, everything always has room for improvement.

Integrating Paylocity

For the most part it seems to run smoothly
  • Checkr
  • Aspire (other)
We use a different Aspire and it does not integrate at all - it handles our time and labor.
  • Aspire (landscape management software)
Aspire is very prickly about who they integrate with.
  • File import/export
  • API (e.g. SOAP or REST)
I'm not sure if it does it or not, but I'd like to see google calendars and time off calendars integrate.

Relationship with Paylocity

I wasn't part of this. We were going to add on a service but decided against it (cost).
Wasn't part of implementation team, did not get any individualized training when I came on as an administrator.
I've been here over two years, nobody has spoken to me about my contract.

Upgrading Paylocity

  • Would like to know what it is, how it works, and what we need to do
