Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
Onboarding, offboarding, spending accounts (HSA/FSA), COBRA, HRIS, payroll, leaves, time & labor clocking in/out, employee transfers, benefits sync with Employee Navigator, file feeds with vendors, open API functionality with other partners, like AzureAD.
Pros
- Platform is laid out well and organized
- Our account manager is amazing. Our 2 other reps were not as motivated to assist us and would give us half/incorrect answers.
- PEAK articles are great!
Cons
- More open API/partner integrations would be great-wellness platforms, leave platforms. Vendors platforms we use that won't sync. It feels like Paylocity is behind in keeping up with this area of technology.
- Implementation was a nightmare, we had a new rep that set up a lot of things incorrectly and we're still trying to fix things 1.5 years later...another consultant often had an attitude and gave us multiple wrong answers and failed to educate us on how T&L systems talked to HR&P..
- Why is the SSN optional on the new I-9 form when E-Verify is REQUIRED?! Poor automation on the new I-9 form.
- Benefits sync with Employee Navigator is terrible, job titles don't sync, employer earnings codes don't sync and we manually have to add these deductions to every employees profile individually
- ACA dashboard is not as automated as it should be.
- ...time & labor issues, benefits set up under wrong post/pre tax, HSA contributions for mid-year renewals a huge issue, HSA contributions for employees over 55 (extra catch up)
- We were initially told by our sales rep it would not be an issue to have two payrolls in one company.....after 3 months of running payrolls we found out employees were accruing PTO any time a payroll was run (semi-monthly and weekly) causing a HUGE discrepancy with PTO and we previously had ADP as our PEO so we were not able to go back and cross check our data. This has caused a large negative view and distrust from our employees.
- 401k file feeds were delayed and the team members who assisted us were rude or not knowledgeable in their field....
- Company lost trust in HR
- Better data and decision making, we were previously with a PEO so data was hard to receive
- Our HR team has learned and grown a lot
- Maybe Paylocity could do a year in review for clients and bring up their most asked questions or pain points throughout the year.
I-9 form automation is actually causing more administrative work now that the SSN is optional. Having to reject the form and asking the employee to fill it out again is also causing onboarding delays. Leaves tracking automation tied to payroll hours would be great. Maybe product brief videos each month/quarter instead of just a newsletter? Something more engaging than a 29 page product debrief with no pictures or videos...I need to see how it works in action and how it can be applied to my company. BambooHR does great monthly product debrief videos.
I think communities is a really exciting feature of Paylocity and a big area that sold our team. The ability to post notices and communicate with employees is awesome, and they can nominate their peers!
Paycom looked very dated but had decent functionality. BambooHR is for smaller companies. Paylocity was a great price and platform switching from ADP TotalSource. Used Paycor at another company I worked for an did not have great customer service experience.
