Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We utilize Paylocity for our payroll and human resource needs. We also utilize the benefits module that Paylocity offers. Paylocity helps to streamline our needs for human resources and finance by maintaining our data in one space. We have close to 200 employees on our payroll currently.

Pros

  • Payroll Processing
  • Tax Resolution
  • Reporting

Cons

  • Garnishment functionality - its cumbersome, difficult to set up on the employee.
  • Dedicated Representative - while we have 1 rep that handles our account, it is not always easy to speak with that rep over the phone. Usually I am defaulting to choose another available rep.
  • Benefits implementation did not go smoothly, there could be improvement there.
  • Created better in house efficiency
  • Reduction of payroll errors
  • Help to extract better data for HR & Finance
Paylocity has definitely created more time for HR to spend on our higher objectives through onboarding, file transfers, file feeds, housing of benefit information. The use of workflows is a huge help in terms of getting data from HR to Finance correctly and efficiently.
Very little impact. We have not utilized these tools to their fullest.
I think that Paylocity is a good product and can execute most HR tasks and operations. It could still use improvements.
Paylocity was already in place when I took over my position.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

- Good software platform. Easy to use, process payroll, and automation can be set up for onboarding and file transfers. - Very good at responding and researching tax notices. - Customer service is good. Representatives are always friendly and willing to assist. - Org Chart could use improvement, specifically extracting all or just some of the organizations departments. - Some representatives are better (more knowledgeable) than others. Leaves room for improvement for other lesser knowledgeable reps. - Pricing on prior quarter adjustments seems to be a bit of a "money grab". I feel the pricing should be lowered for the amount of work that is being done by Paylocity. - Workflow feature works well, however, some of the notifications do not get delivered to the intended recipients.

Using Paylocity

4 - 3 individuals work in our HR department.
1 individual works in Finance - Payroll
2 - Payroll Manager and Benefits Manager
  • Payroll
  • HRIS system functions
  • Benefits
  • Reporting
  • Annual Review Documentation Storage
  • Benefits
  • Annual Compensation
  • Data Insights
  • Performance
Works well for our organization for what we need to accomplish.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

I was not part of the first evaluation process. However, I think our organization would have looked more closely at some of the HRIS functionality within Paylocity.

Paylocity Implementation

It would not let me skip this question. I was not part of the implementation process.
Not sure - I was not part of the choosing of Paylocity or the implementation process.
  • I was not part of the implementation process

Paylocity Training

Training was adequate. I was not with my organization at the time of integration. All other trainings I have been present for and were good.

Configuring Paylocity

I do think there could be some more flexibility within certain produce modules. Time & Labor, Benefits, Performance and Compensation. Our HR/Talent team would certainly like to get more out of the Performance and Compensation modules. The limitations prevent them from using the product more often and integrate it with our internal procedures.
No. I will leave that up to their development team.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - We made some changes to fit more of our employees needs on the Home Page. Still we would like to be able to add more widgets or have more flexibility with the content that appears on the page.
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - Very easy.

Paylocity Support

The service is good, not excellent. Unfortunately, our dedicated representative is usually busy with all their clients, which is understandable, however it would be nice if they were available more. I think management needs to consider how they can provide better resources or relief to their service representatives in order to free up more of their time for their clients, perhaps lower amount of the clients they have assigned to them.

Also, the service will tend to vary due to difference is in service representatives. We have had some very good reps and conversely had an occassional rep that did not offer knowledgable and excellent service.
ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
No escalation required
Immediate help available
Support understands my problem
Quick Initial Response
None
No. I was not part of the original decision process for Paylocity, so I cannot answer the latter of these questions.
Yes - No, but to be fair it was something insignificant. So it was not pursued or followed up on. It did not affect any of our payrolls or processing.
Yes - when we implemented a number of Time Off Accrual policies there was one individual that really went above and beyond for our organization. Jacob Picklesimer was a huge help in regards to the set up and answering many questions in a timely manner, walking us through how the system would need to be set up and gave us examples of what to expect from the PTO set up. Excellent service.

Using Paylocity
