Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We utilize Paylocity for our payroll and human resource needs. We also utilize the benefits module that Paylocity offers. Paylocity helps to streamline our needs for human resources and finance by maintaining our data in one space. We have close to 200 employees on our payroll currently.
Pros
- Payroll Processing
- Tax Resolution
- Reporting
Cons
- Garnishment functionality - its cumbersome, difficult to set up on the employee.
- Dedicated Representative - while we have 1 rep that handles our account, it is not always easy to speak with that rep over the phone. Usually I am defaulting to choose another available rep.
- Benefits implementation did not go smoothly, there could be improvement there.
- Created better in house efficiency
- Reduction of payroll errors
- Help to extract better data for HR & Finance
Paylocity has definitely created more time for HR to spend on our higher objectives through onboarding, file transfers, file feeds, housing of benefit information. The use of workflows is a huge help in terms of getting data from HR to Finance correctly and efficiently.
Very little impact. We have not utilized these tools to their fullest.
Paylocity was already in place when I took over my position.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors
Not Sure
- Ease of Use
I was not part of the first evaluation process. However, I think our organization would have looked more closely at some of the HRIS functionality within Paylocity.
Paylocity Implementation
Not sure - I was not part of the choosing of Paylocity or the implementation process.
- I was not part of the implementation process
Paylocity Training
Configuring Paylocity
No. I will leave that up to their development team.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - We made some changes to fit more of our employees needs on the Home Page. Still we would like to be able to add more widgets or have more flexibility with the content that appears on the page.
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - Very easy.

No. I was not part of the original decision process for Paylocity, so I cannot answer the latter of these questions.
Yes - No, but to be fair it was something insignificant. So it was not pursued or followed up on. It did not affect any of our payrolls or processing.
Yes - when we implemented a number of Time Off Accrual policies there was one individual that really went above and beyond for our organization. Jacob Picklesimer was a huge help in regards to the set up and answering many questions in a timely manner, walking us through how the system would need to be set up and gave us examples of what to expect from the PTO set up. Excellent service.
