Overall Satisfaction with Zuora

Zuora is our billing software. It is used primarily by the finance department but also used in other departments. It addresses our invoicing, and customer data storage needs.
  • Zuora does a great job calculating tough subscriptions and auto -generating credits
  • Constantly improving with new versions.
  • Amendments to detailed subscriptions are not allowed.
  • You must delete and rebuild the subscription in order to change certain information.
  • Support response time is slower than I would expect sometimes.
We utilize the unique subscription capabilities on a daily basis with many of our tough, manual bill customers.
We use Zuora primarily for invoicing, we have another actual accounting software that does our accounting close. We generate and send all invoices from Zuora and allow half of our batches to run automated; the other half we manually work with them as they are more complicated and take some manual touches to ensure they are correct.
If you have a very basic standard billing structure, you could go with a less 'fancy' software than Zuora.

Using Zuora

  • Use some technical billing functions that create pro-rations for us and do the calculations when we credit and rebill.
  • Z-quotes for sales operations and allowing the reps insight into current customers billing statuses
  • Improving z-quotes to better sync with SFDC and thus push subscriptions through properly
  • Utilize dunning email operations, tax help and storage of more financial metrics.
I very much like using Zuora and feel it is one of the most comprehensive tools we have in this company (in my line of work).
I it user friendly, gets the job done and the support there at Zuora is incredible.
  • Positive - allows for ease of subscription building and billing off of those subscriptions.
  • Negative - issues properly using z-quotes.
  • Positive - Has many options for customer data to be stored properly thus making it our primary data storage center of customer information.

Relationship with zuora - they care about our success with the product and it goes a long way in renewing with them
I wouldn't change it, I like zuora a lot and would like to see my company keep zuora and even purchase more features of the software.

I don't have specific thoughts on this since I was not here for the original implementation.

The onsite was so helpful and worth the hours spent. All three people that came to represent Zuora had a lot to offer.
Online is good but I am a very hands on learner, so I appreciate in person training the most.
Only certain parts were self taught, I don't recommend self teaching the software to yourself as you miss details that are important to getting the most out of the product.

Configuring Zuora

Needs to be more configurable to SFDC, the quoting tool seems to present issues at time.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface

Zuora Support

I am always impressed with both the turn around time of a request and the detail at which they offer to solve my issue.
Zuora came onsite with us for a day and I was very impressed with the level of attention they gave us and the feedback.

Yes - It was.
When they came onsite for an 8 hour meeting with us, three representatives of Zuora from all over the nation met with a core group of us Zuora users and provided an exceptional meeting for us. They were comprehensive with their support and suggestions.

Zuora Reliability

The product is capable of a lot, small companies and large companies can utilize it with ease
There have only been a few days/instances in the past 2.5 years of using zuora that I, personally have had issues or been notified of issues relating to Zuora.
Zuora does a superb job for all the tasks I use it for. Billing - it is trustworthy and accurate. Customer data- it holds it and keeps past records for even cancelled accounts, and subscription builds - it has the ability to make very difficult subscriptions seem easy.

Integrating Zuora

Z-quotes has been a major pain in the butt to integrate. I don't blame it entirely on Zuora though, I think we may not be using all the features properly.
The integration with both of these has not been completed.
We need to finish integrating with these two systems. SFDC and the z-quote tool needs work

Be sure to use Zuora experts to help you. Don't do this without training.

Relationship with Zuora

I didn't deal with the sales process directly for this relationship, I have however been a part of the potential renewal and upgrade of the system and I can say Zuora has our best interest in mind and is working to make sure we are a happy, satisfied customer.
They have maintained a strong working relationship and are just as available and wonderful to work with as they were from the start.
I did not partake in the initial negotiations.
