Adobe Campaign is well suited for enterprise-level marketing communications. It can manage and deploy large volumes of emails very efficiently. Workflows can allow multiple touches, staggered sends, and segmentation to occur all within one delivery if needed. Interactions and reporting can happen in real time or near real time if needed. When integrated with the rest of the Marketing Cloud, Campaign becomes even more powerful as platforms like Analytics and AEM can have functionality brought directly into Campaign for more effective content creation and reporting.

Adobe Test & Target is a tool that delivers what it says, it offers insightful results to help improve user experience and performance. However, it does require thoughtful planning, road map, proper technical staff in order to fully maximize the potential of it and leverage its capabilities to benefit your operation. But that is not the problem of the software, it is the preparation the team is required to have in order to succeed with this tool

  • Cross-platform: the ability to manage campaigns - SMS - Email - Social media etc.

  • The features and navigation are very intuitive.
  • Reports are very informative with ability to create custom segments to help analyze results from different angles.
  • Setting up campaigns is very straightforward. Anyone could do it with basic training of the tool. And Adobe offers assistance for questions when setting up campaigns.
  • Adobe also offers assistance for technical support for setting up offers, but it's limited.

Cons

  • There's always room for improvement with the interface. The UI is amazing and works very well, but, as a designer, stuff like this is always a work in progress.
  • A little slow to load – sometimes the program takes a while to start up. I have a high-end Mac, and I'm sure it's not my machine that's the problem.
  • The program crashes every once in a while. It'll just freeze up. Not sure why.

  • It relies on mbox and depending on how they are implemented, you may need to rely on your IT team to implement additional mboxes for certain tests.
  • To set up test offers, most of the time you will need to have knowledge of html and css. And depending on how the mboxes are implemented, you could be heavily relying on jQuery to manipulate the elements on your site for test offers.
  • There is no WYSIWYG interface for you to highlight elements on your site while creating offers, which could be useful for users with less front end development experience.

Once you go for Neolane you are a bit stuck with it, so we will most likely stay with Neolane. Cost of investment and training are the main factors at work here. We havesimply have invested too much in the product to stop using it after 2 years.That said, my score of 8 does not imply that the product is worthy of getting an 8 but reflects our willingness to renew.Given that upgrading to a new version will cost again a substantial sum, we most likely will keep using the current version we are on which is 6X.

The software is so expensive that we can only use it in limited capacity. It does not simplify any work for our development team in our testing process. We also found that testing results from it weren't always accurate.

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

The instructor that came to train us was awesome and this training was very useful. I would recommend it for anyone who is going to be using this software. I only mark it lower because it is an added expense to an already expensive product, and a lot of the training covered the "Target" portion of the software (which again, we didn't use)

The training was very easy to understand, however it would have been more useful to my development team than me. It was also primarily over-the-phone, which is never as easy to follow as in-person. We ended up scheduling and paying for an in-person training session to supplement the online/phone training because it wasn't helpful enough.

Ensure that documentation is thorough and detailed. Make no assumptions that IT or developers know why they are doing what you're asking them to do, and provide detailed instructions to them.

Alternatives Considered

Look, Adobe Campaign is the best program to use for your online media marketing. Adobe understands what online marketers and social media strategists need, and deliver the proper tools necessary for them to be successful. I swear by Adobe, they've earned my trust and I will continue to use their programs throughout my career. Everything else is just...noise. Until I find a program with better customer service than Adobe, I will always be a fanboy.

Return on Investment

  • It's driven up our sales/clicks 100%. Now that we're able to target our audience and what drives them, we're able to determine what the best course of action is with our online marketing campaigns.
  • I really wouldn't say there's much of a negative connotation, except for the fact that everything is updated via Adobe Cloud, so it can get kind of pricey if you're a smaller agency – either yearly subscription, or a monthly fee.

  • Our site is primarily motivated to generate more traffic and conversions (leads) for our clients. In using this software, we had hoped to optimize our traffic and lead generating pieces so that we maximized signups.
