ADP TotalSource is a professional employer organization (PEO) that provides strategic HR outsourcing. It includes services and technology to manage employee benefits, payroll, compliance, risk management, safety, and recruiting. Users have access to an online portal for things like self-service reporting, generating pay statements, and managing applicant resumes/interviews. Help from the service center and industry experts is available by phone.
ADP seemed to have more customer service capabilities, I can get questions answered pretty quickly vs. the previous company we used. Also, the fact that you can utilize several products under the RUN Powered by ADP® umbrella was a plus. We feel the product is easier to use …
TotalSource was a very good service but we didn't use enough of the features to make the cost worth it to us. ADP ezLaborManager is good at collecting punches and producing accurate reports. Doesn't identify late or no lunches. It downloads into ADP RUN well.
RUN Powered by ADP® is well suited for providing year-end reports needed by our CPA for year-end and tax reporting purposes. Reports are easy to find and easy to export. RUN Powered by ADP® is well suited for finding earnings information when assessing budgeting information for the company as it relates to salaries, benefits, etc...
I would not use this company for anything. [I believe my] employees [absolutely] hate the software and there are constantly glitches in the software which occur every payroll run, benefits enrollment, etc. [I have spent] large amounts of time on the phone with outsourced customer support[,] so think twice when comparing [the] cost to other providers. [I feel] you [will] need someone full time to deal with all of their issues. We are currently in the process of setting up another PEO company. The amount of money and time to implement ADP has been a huge loss.
It is much better than the payroll system I used previously. The integrations that RUN has for on-boarding new hires are very convenient when they work properly. It saves a tremendous amount of time being able to email a link to new employees that allows them to enter much of their own demographic information. Payroll feature alerts me when someone's pay is significantly less or more than usual.
I have been using this system for years and they have actually made it easier and easier. The system is always making great upgrades that don't necessarily require any additional information or training. I love when I log in and see a new feature or button that I get to use to make my life easier!
We've had very little issue with RUN availability, only a couple times there were outages when least expected which occurred on our actual payroll due date
ADP Run loads a bit slowly at times, once I put in my credentials. However, that said, I think my perception of the time it takes is impacted by our "instant gratification" expectation of being able to get into everything quickly.
I appreciated having that issue finally take care of. it was extremely disheartening to see the issue had not been resolved. I also had my employees looking to me and thinking I was not trying to resolve the issue so it reflected poorly on my character. I do not know if i was because of a miscommunication, but nonetheless I was happy it was taken care of
ADP is a great HR solution for most organizations. It is truly all-in-one. I rated it a 7, because of the issues we experienced during implementation and the high cost of service when issues do arise.
Customer service was my biggest reason for moving, plus integrating our 401k with ADP. There are features on Paychex that I missed initially but have learned to navigate around and do not notice it as much now. We have only been on since January 1, 2025.
At the moment, we have not investigated any of the products available in the drop-down list provided. However, we have evaluated some other (unavailable) products and have been intrigued by the potential decrease in fees along with the potential for a much more "rich" benefit plan. We can't speak to the level of customer service observed by current clients, only to apparent cost savings.
Every summer, we hire three new college interns who have to be entered into the system. They can enter their information themselves, which takes a load off me. The onboarding is quite straightforward, and today's college kids are techy enough to be able to understand it.
When we were a Wholesale account we tried to bring every client over to RUN Powered by ADP® payroll which added directly to our bottom line.
When we moved to a different payroll provider they were so bad at most things payroll and cost us money which had us coming back to RUN Powered by ADP®'s trusted platform bringing all of our clients with us.
When we decided to discontinue the payroll portion of our business which had nothing to do with RUN Powered by ADP®. ADP still paid us a small commission for all of our clients that transitioned from wholesale to retail. That is unheard of for other payroll platforms.
It has cost us more money from a financial aspect and then taken away my main/other job duties because I have to focus all of my time on ADP TotalSource and basically fixing errors that happen weekly/every time an employee is added or terminated (which is more than the normal company due to the nature of our business).
