Considered Multiple Products
Cloudingo
Chose Cloudingo
We considered DemandTools CRMFusion. As a small company with a limited budget, it was considerably more expensive than Cloudingo. It also was an installable, on-premise piece of software which is a big drawback. While the reviews of CRMFusion on TrustRadius were very positive, …
Chose Cloudingo
I selected Cloudingo because I wanted a cloud-based solution and the user-interface was so easy to understand. It actually out-performed the other tools I evaluated by quite a large margin but more than anything the company as a whole treated me better throughout the process. I …
DemandTools
Chose DemandTools
Cloudingo is great for de-duping, particularly automated de-duping, but doesn't have the same quality of data maintenance capabilities. Because it's done in the cloud, it can be a little slow to use and the interface can get confusing and hard to understand what you're …
Chose DemandTools
We considered Cloudingo - however we found DemandTools performed better in terms of handling our records in terms of volume.
Chose DemandTools
Cloudingo was purchased previously to me joining the team. I have only worked with DemandTools.
Chose DemandTools
We only stayed with DemandTools because we had too many implementations this year
Chose DemandTools
We tried these products, and also Duplicate Check for Salesforce from Plauti. All of these are great tools but for us specifically DemandTools worked the best and fastest.
Chose DemandTools
Regardless of how outdated the user interface is, for me DemandTools has been so straightforward to use and the number of resources at hand when onboarding yourself is enough to master it. The only thing the other tools have that are better are strictly the user interface of …
Chose DemandTools
Best in class for data mass update and dedupe. At the time of selection, this was the most cost-effective. May not be the case in the future with the new pricing strategy. Working with large data sets seems to be best when using a GUI program like this. Compared to Apex Data …
Chose DemandTools
DemandTools is no frills power. The top of the line tool, best suited for moderate to experienced admins

Jitterbit is an incredibly intuitive tool, easy to use and map. Not quite as powerful as DemandTools and doesn't handle the de-duping process.

Cloudingo is great at mass merging account and contact records based off a specific criteria instead of having to do it manually within the record in SF. It also is easy to analyze a record while in a mass merge to see if you need to edit some values. However, having other standard objects would be very beneficial and even having it for custom objects could be helpful.

DemandTools is perfect for any system that constantly adds new records to its database. For example, in higher education, we are constantly purchasing search names from various vendors and DemandTools allows us to make sure we are not doubling up on the same records. It saves us money in the long run as we are not mailing out multiple copies of our brochures to the same person.

Information Server is extremely useful to replace manual developments that require a lot of coding effort. It significantly increases the productivity of the initial development and the future maintenance of the processes since it has a visual development environment with self-documentation.

Pros
Symphonic Source
  • Cloudingo displays a single dashboard view of the quality of data you have in Salesforce. You no longer have to guess how much of your CRM is "clean" or "dirty".
  • Cloudingo allows you to test functionality in Salesforce Sandbox prior to conducting changes in Salesforce Production. I highly recommend thoroughly testing functionality prior to making changes in your live CRM.
  • Cloudingo allows you to mass merge and converts records automatically and manually either individually or in groups. This saves a lot of manual time in trying to keep your CRM's data clean.

Cons

  • I would be nice to have a new web development environment for DataStage.
  • Connectivity Packs such as Pack for SAP Application are a little pricey.
  • It is confusing for new developers the possibility of developing jobs using different execution engines such as Parallel or Server.

We spend enough money on Salesforce that the cost of Cloudingo when compared with its benefits is extremely small. We've been able to see measurable KPIs move as a result of the work we've done with Cloudingo

It's a great product. The only thing that holds us back is it was frustrating working with their sales team. We also don't like that when Validity purchased DemandTools they immediately started charging us quite a bit while it had been free for non-profit users when CRMFusion owned it. They also don't let you buy it for just 1 or 2 seats, you have to pay, I believe, in batches of 100 seats.

I have had to reach out to Cloudingo support several times. They almost always respond that same day. Often times they will call me directly to fix the problem or walk me through best practices. They even reach out after the fact to make sure that everything worked okay. They are also kind and personable.

Support can be slow so do not expect quick turn for urgent issues.
Help for specific queries not not there. Product tech support is offered. It would be great if query support, even if paid, was offered
The training webinars help with the basics but not much if you need advanced functionality.

For us it was just a matter of committing the 10 minutes to install it from the AppExchange. It automatically builds out a dashboard based on standard filters and you get a lot of insight from them. We then copied some of the standard ones and pulled two from a filter library that rounded out what we needed. I wish I had done this months before given how little of my time it actually took.

We considered DemandTools CRMFusion. As a small company with a limited budget, it was considerably more expensive than Cloudingo. It also was an installable, on-premise piece of software which is a big drawback. While the reviews of CRMFusion on TrustRadius were very positive, it appeared to have a steeper learning curve as well. So the combination of cloud-based, easier-to-use, and lower price led us to select Cloudingo over CRMFusion.

Though RingLead has much more to offer in terms of automation (and it is in Salesforce rather than a separate program), DemandTools still has our heart. DemandTools is very cost-friendly and we were able to increase the value of DemandTools by programming in additional saved scenarios. I decreased admin time in the DemandTools suite by approximately 25% after implementing saved scenarios for every reoccurring update or list upload.

  • It is a tremendous time saver. It does things Salesforce doesn't even have the capability to do. Tasks that would take hours to manually complete.
  • We can process a tremendous amount of data daily through one person, vs. weeks for the data to be cleaned, reviewed, routed and input.
  • Saves on headcount by allowing a dedicated user to set up batches and jobs for other teams to ensure their data integrity.
  • The return on investment isn't easily quantifiable but it is FELT in our department.
