We need to create accounts on almost every website, and Dashlane helps generate secure passwords and store them safely, but easily accessible through its seamless browser extension. SharePoint Document Management excels as a central repository for storing, organising, and retrieving documents. It supports version control, metadata tagging, secure access, and integration with tools like Power Automate. At our organisation, it's used for managing contracts, policies, and supplier documents. I use it on an almost hourly basis. With probably 10+ years of use, I have used it for everything and have found very little that it won't complete, but it isn't very good on mobile devices. I use it on my phone strictly as a reference because it does not work with either Samsung internet browser or Chrome for Android.
The mobile app works fine for quick access, but autofill across different apps can be inconsistent. Sometimes it doesn’t recognize the login field, which slows people down when they’re on the go.
Occasionally the browser extension logs users out or doesn’t sync immediately with the desktop app, which causes frustration if someone just updated a password.
Windows Explorer users have some difficulty having to constantly UPLOAD / DOWNLOAD files. Specifically on the DOWNLOAD when they are used to Drag & Drop in & out of LOCAL folders via Window's explorer.
Microsoft SharePoint supports multiple "library" types. When implementing our "image" library the search function is done via "tags" and boolean logic. This is challenging to most end users. I'd like our users to be able to search our Microsoft SharePoint image library without having to enter KEYWORD or other BOOLEAN logic.
Microsoft SharePoint can also be an internal website for each department or company wide communication tool but I believe these features are geared for much larger organizations. Since we are a SMB we really aren't using these features. So maybe something more useful to SMBs would be nice.
It's integral to our business. It's already included with most of the Office 365 licensing we buy, so the cost is effectively zero. It stores our files, it is the foundation for custom applications, and Microsoft only continues to enhance its functionality and its connections to other Microsoft tools. SharePoint just keeps getting better and better.
Dashlane is usable, but there are 2 key issues that annoy me. 1. The mobile app and the browser extension are not synced and i cannot find passwords in the app that are clearly in the extension. 2. The system doe snot make it easy to assign a password to a specific subdomain. I get hundreds of passwords that i have to go through any time i go to any subdomain on my main site because of the nature of my business. I need the option back to assign a password to only work with a specific subdomain (and all related paged on that subdomain) note: The search features have been annoying in the past. I just went to test them to verify my issues and found that notes inside of a password are finally searchable. This helps
No usability issues reported. Individual teams also have allocated areas which replace legacy shared drives on local LANs. Access to Sharepoint resources is fully integrated with corporate Active Directory with additional two-factor authentication required for administrative users. Users have access to Microsoft Services Hub which allows you to create, manage, and track support requests while staying current on Microsoft technologies with access to select self-paced learning paths
We've had no issues with Dashlane. I can't speak to their customer service because I have not personally needed to contact them. I guess that speaks about their product if we've not had any issues to reach out about. Great for supporting data/information on multiple platforms that are shared among team members.
The face to face training I received was on SharePoint Administration. It was rushed as there was a lot of information to cover and the application of the labs weren't that great either. I like to be able to relate what I am learning to what I am currently doing.
I like to learn at my own pace and online training allows for that. Additionally, you can skip through pieces of content that you already know or are already comfortable with. Microsoft actually offers great videos on their website for basic fundamental SharePoint Training. I have used these training videos in some of my own training sessions with end users.
Dashlane’s customer support is often rated higher, providing more responsive and helpful assistance. LastPass has a slightly steeper learning curve than Dashlane, but it offers more flexibility with user permissions, which can benefit teams. Dashlane includes unlimited passkey support and a clean breach history, while LastPass is more accommodating for smaller teams.
The reasons for selecting MS SharePoint are: SharePoint provides ease of use and web design assistance and support SharePoint helps you schedule your content for publishing. enables users to share documents with external parties and offers a better internal structure of the content and better indexing and searching capabilities.
The number one alternative we see is LastPass. Many of our clients use it and are happy with it and I'm sure it's very close to RoboForm. I have personally used RoboForm for at least 10 years and have been extremely happy with it, so we did not do much comparing recently.
