Data.com

Data.com is a good prospecting and data information tool for any agency or company doing outbound prospecting. Data.com requires you to also have Salesforce CRM, so this tool is really only suited for those companies that can afford Salesforce. Because of this, Data.com seems like a better fit for companies with at least 30 or more employees (total in the company) and at least 5 Salesforce users. Data.com is not a good fit for small businesses.

HubSpot Sales Hub

In my humble opinion, everything that Buildertrend and Salesforce can do is inferior compared to HUBSPOT. Sales, Service, Marketing, etc. are all better in Hubspot. Hubspot is not cheap though. That is the kicker. I suppose Hubspot is more well suited to larger businesses with larger budgets and the smaller businesses could be more willing to pay for something else...

  • Data.com is appealing because it's affordable. You might need to purchase a few contacts to get rolling, but once you're able to add some yourself and gain additional points, it can very rewarding to "earn" additional contacts by submitting some of your own.
  • There is a wide range of search terms available to narrow down your list by name, region, company name, and others.
  • Easy "add contacts" function, and a template to add a large number of them at once.

  • If it provided more details about the company it would be great- information such as employee size or software used would be great.
  • The ability to add a contact with just a number would be great- sometimes you don't have an address.
  • It would be helpful to be notified when a contact you have "purchased" has been changed/updated.

  • Search feature is horrible. When you have a prospect on the phone and you type in their name or company it isn't always visible. You have to use emails, otherwise all other searches are suspect and have to double and triple checked.... tough to do when talking to a prospect.
  • Deal cards need to be MORE customizable (last update aside). There needs to be control (more) on what is presented on the card. Also, the order in which the cards are visible should be customizable. Allow the organization to sequence.
  • The ability to create "online reports" dynamically. Simply allow me to create a report on needed criteria and then publish the report in a custom URL that I can share with non-HubSpot users. This can be used to share with my vendors, dealers, partners who I would never allow in my system but I want to provide visibility

Very intuitive to use and I've never had any confusion with features. Anyone can create an account and use the platform simply by adding a contact or company into the database to earn points. It's a great option if you don't have budget for lists or pay services. It is easy to use and anyone can benefit from it.

The ease of use and the interface experience is amazing and that was a main priority for us in the purchasing phase. Whenever I've had a question their support has responded pretty quickly and gives me exactly what I am looking for. I have not had any technical issues so I can't speak to issues there, but as far as general questions from a free user they have impressed me with how quickly they get back to me and the thoroughness of their answers.

Oh my goodness HubSpot Support is just amazing. I submitted a question/issue to them yesterday and by this morning I had this response:
"Hi Stephanie,I hope this finds you well and thanks so much for your patience while I was working to update the extension with my team. We were actually able to push through an update yesterday afternoon which set the default lifecycle stage to lead in the sidebar. If you take a look now, that should be in place. If it has not updated yet, I would recommend uninstalling and re-installing the sales extension so an updated version and be pushed through.Again, I want to say that I sincerely appreciate that you took the time to reach out to us and help us iron this out. HubSpot really values constructive feedback with real use-case backing to help push it along. So, thank you!"

They scheduled a call to go over each individual tool with our team and provided guidance and best practices plus answered any questions are new users had. My client chose Data.com based on the experience during the evaluation period and the cost comparison. Data.com was the better-suited solution in this scenario. The size of the InsideView database was significantly smaller than Data.com and had limitations on downloads that Data.com did not. InsideView also provided little detail in profiles that were a dealbreaker for my client.

HubSpot Sales Hub

kvCORE is provided by our brokerage. It is great, but more techie and complicated than I like. There are 10 videos on how to use it. They say the BEST CRM you can have is the ONE YOU USE. So, HubSpot [Sales Hub] allows me to use it without having to know anything different than using my Gmail. The dashboard and all the functions are simple, look familiar, and work the way you would expect them to.

  • It does an excellent job of creating a more complete picture of an account and key contacts.
  • Helps clarify the key contacts. Sometimes all you get is a mumbled name on a call that might be very important. Data.com allows for a quick search and identification of the contact that would have been lost otherwise.
  • Even helped us begin sending marketing assets to customers of our partners that share a need overlap.

  • We are able to consistently hit our outreach goals every week of 160 emails per SDR and BD. Sending 160 emails used to take us about 20 hours / SDR / week, and now it takes about 5-7 hours / SDR / week, based on the Sales tools.
  • We've gotten to within 75% accuracy on our sales forecasts by analyzing our Hubspot reports, and better understanding the predictability of our revenue.
  • We have saved hundreds of hours in sales training by onboarding new SDRs and BDs using Hubspot's templates and sequences.
