Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Gusto for payroll, performance reviews, hiring tracking, onboarding, offboarding and general HR data keeping. As a small and young non-profit- it has been the perfect platform for ease of use, compliance, and ability to pull reports as needed for finance, or grant management. We use the performance function for annual reviews, but also monthly goal setting and tracking.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company uses Gusto for onboarding, payroll, tax filing, time keeping, and off boarding.

Pros

  • Simplifying payroll
  • Streamline onboarding
  • Connects to my tax accounts

Cons

  • The app isn’t as straightforward as the web bowser
  • For some reason, my employees do struggle with clocking out. I have an employee that shows me every time he clocks out, the app says he clocked out, but then when we check his timesheet it never clocked him out.
  • Add more options for project tracking. Like if I can somehow mark the project for certain days or something. My employees don’t select the project because it’s not required.

Return on Investment

  • Gusto helped us take our business from a 2 person crew to a 4 crew business.
  • We will be able to double last year’s revenue with the features gusto has added to our tool belt.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Gusto for payroll and other HR-related needs. Gusto tracks our time off allotment by employee, employees submit reimbursable expenses in the platform, which finance reviews and approves, and payroll is ran out of Gusto on the semi-monthly basis. We also use the reporting features for end of year tax filing and other ad hoc reporting needs.

  • Reporting - at the moment it is a little cumbersome and not easy to run/pull data
  • More customization on the expense reimbursement - tying back to clients or projects
  • More approval workflow features

  • Gives us the ability to use multiple function across 1 platform, saving on other SaaS tools.

We're big fans of Gusto! The platform's reminders, customer service, and referral benefits are impressive, and its reliability is top-notch. As a one-person, S-corp Gusto fits my current needs perfectly and I can easily see how it can support me to scale into the future if that's something I wish to do. Truly recommend Gusto to anyone seeking a tool to help with overall business management and compliance.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

For me, Gusto is used to log my hours as a part time intern. Its messy to communicate hours to a manages so Gusto basically automates the time logging and payout process.

Pros

  • button to clock in clock out
  • add previous time you forget to click clock in for
  • pays out the correct amount on time

Cons

  • faster sync between admin and user. one time they updated my pay rate but Gusto tok longer to show that
  • sometimes confusing which pay period hours belog too. not a huge deal.

Return on Investment

  • In the big picture it saves us time not having to spend much time on hours and pay
