Happy Namely User
- Signed documents are stored directly in the app.
- Employees love how easy it is to submit PTO.
- We have just finished setting up all our EDI benefits files and I love that it takes a lot of extra work off me.
- Processing payroll is a breeze.
- The biggest con I hear from employees is that their payroll check does not show pending the day before.
- When a Workflow has been declined by any chain, the target's manager (the person who created the workflow) is not notified. This is a big problem for us.
- Their ACA support is not the best. You call in and talk to someone about your issue and then they talk to Namely's ACA specialist and then they relay the answer to you. You do not get to talk directly to the ACA specialist so if you go back and forth with questions (like I did), it takes forever to get a problem solved.
Namely is a user friendly system
- If you have everything set up correctly, the payroll process is relatively simple and seamless.
- When I have an issue and need to call Namely, I'd say I get the help/answers I need 98% of the time. Cases submitted get resolved relatively quickly 95 - 99% of time depending on the complexity of the case.
- As an employee, it's a pretty friendly system to use...the news feed is familiar (like FaceBook); accessing my paystub, benefits, and other resources is pretty self explanatory and easy to use.
- Namely Time reports are very cumbersome and not user friendly. I have to jump through hoops to manipulate the excel reports make the information usable.
- We have one pay group with many hourly rates and job codes. When it comes to calculating overtime for this group, I have to do this outside of Namely. This could be a problem on my end. I don't have time to figure this out.
- The biggest issue is that the payroll system does NOT talk directly to accounting system. I have to export the payroll journal entry detail reports to then manipulate to then import into our accounting system.
Try out Namely
- UX interface
- New interactive org chart
- Customer service- non benefits related
- Customer service- benefits related
- State registration. The Help Community is helpful but a designated support team would be more impactful.
The Pros and Cons of Namely from a Previous Paychex User
- Prorations for salaried employees based on start dates
- A feed for shoutouts, promotions, terminations, new hires, birthdays, and anniversaries
- Automatic state and local taxes added based on employee address (a big plus for Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana)
- Limits to custom reporting
- No direct feed for Ohio Workers Comp (now a manual process on our end)
- No option to place an employee on Leave of Absence and exclude them from payroll while they are "inactive"
- No option to suppress certain deductions for certain pay types (i.e. allow 401K for commissions but block remaining deductions - also now a manual process to uncheck the suppress box for 401K for each commission check)
Is the name in HR software still Namely?
- ease of access to critical data
- consolidates all HR functions into one platform
- provides top level insight into corporate structure for inter-departmental communication
- tracks hourly employees
- job code and time tracking
- the time clock app
- general ease of setup and use - many users struggle to set up some of the time tracking features
Meets all Industries and Company Sizes
- Processes our RSU stock payrolls
- Custom built HR work flows
- Custom reports to third parties through FSTP
- 360 integration with third parties (401k, benefits)
- More robust custom reporting tools
Namely review
- Social media type home page with birthdays and anniversaries
- Easy to view employee information
- Onboarding new employees
- In benefits administration, in life insurance and disability sections, there's no option to include employees' bonuses as earnings. Therefore, employees' coverage and premiums are all incorrect.
- Time off recorded in Namely Time does not transfer to HRIS, resulting in employees needing to enter their time off twice - in Namely Time and in their Time Off section of Namely.
- In Namely Time, only the previous week can be copied into the current week. It would be helpful if time recorded could be copied to any week.
Outstanding.
- Benefits offerings to employees.
- Integration of payroll and time tracking.
- Website layout.
- Ease of registering employees in more than one state.
- At the conclusion of onboarding sessions, they always ask, "do you have any questions" but the sessions are scheduled with a 'hard out" so it can sometimes feel like questions would take too long.
- Every communication needs to be written on their platform. I would prefer just picking up the phone to ask a question. It would take less time to get the issue resolved.
Namely for HR Department of One
- Integration with Adobe Sign for new hire documents
- Namely support for payroll
- clean and user friendly interface of users' profiles
- I think project management side of onboarding and coordination could be more robust, the new task list is a step in the right direction
- configuration of permission and bundles seems overly complicated
Just implemented!
- Customer Support
- Implementation
- Platform
- Benefit implementation
- Need sick time accrual by hours worked
- There should be a way to store documents on each profile, even if they dont need to be signed or reviewed.
Namely
- Namely Representative is very responsive.
- Reporting needs major improvement.
- Payroll is very limited cannot prorate.
- Payroll and Time do not work on same system.
- Manage payroll and Time create separate employee numbers rather than one.
- Database is restricted.
Quick review of Namely
- HRIS tracking
- Payroll
- Consistent interfaces and tools.
- Easy to use searches.
- Job titles are very wonky in the system.
A barebones HRIS for basic needs (globally friendly_
- Very user friendly interface, for both employees and admins
- was very good for German data
- had an HR dashboard (and relatively good reporting)
- in my opinion, HORRIBLE performance review platform, we had a really hard time with it and would not recommend that you use this function
- In my experience, poor customer service, difficult to get ahold of them when you need support
- Capabilities are limited in comparison to other more robust HRIS systems
Last Chance.
- onboarding
- benefits
- off boarding-removing terminated employees from plans
Start Up Tech Org Switches to Namely
- The product is really easy to use.
- The benefits wizard is very user friendly.
- The tax feature through Manage Payroll is really difficult to navigate, especially when you have multiple places you have to register your organization with a remote workforce.
- The ticketing system is incredibly confusing. Its hard to find historical conversations. The tickets are closed if you don't respond within 5 business days and you have to reopen an entire new case, filling everything out.
Namely getting back to basics.
- Multi state taxes.
- Reporting
- Hours tracking.
- Customer Service.
- Ability to enter more then 3 permanent earning codes.
- More enhanced filter capability in reporting.
- Ability to enter earnings codes instead of Namely having to do it.
If I had it to do all over again - I would choose Namely!
- New employee onboarding - easy to set up and simple to use
- Compensation tracking/updates - synchronizes well with the payroll system to make sure pay is accurately handled.
- Task Lists for multi-step projects (like onboarding/offboarding) are *so* helpful!
- Namely Time TCP is a little quirky and does not synchronize bi-directionally with the HRIS.
- Payroll Reports user-level customization needs a little more attention so that users that know what they need can access data from different sections without having to pay for a custom report.
- There is no "Onboarding" workflow for re-hires.
All-in-one HRIS
- Their interface is top notch - no disjointed modules.
- They're constantly improving - we get a quarterly update on new features and they listen to feedback (and they're pretty good to start!)
- Customer service is top notch - if we run into an issue - my problem is always solved in a timely manner.
- The performance management module is great (and has lots of options for customization) - but the interface for setting it up could improve (still - very usable).
A real good HRIS
- Reporting
- Time off control
- Engagement
- Org chart
Customer Review.
- Report building.
- Payroll
- Time keeping.
- ATS integration.
- Performance management.
- Better e-signature integration.
Mostly good, often improving, needs better customer service.
- Customization of review templates.
- Personnel data storage and accessibility.
- Some parts of custom reporting (point in time still has room for improvement).
- Payroll
- Benefits brokerage and administration.
- Customer service has been largely disappointing and sometimes horrible.
- The tax reporting team has had some major hiccups for us.
- Some of the custom reporting filters could be improved by adding an in-between dates filter.
- Some of the performance review tools are still confusing after 7 years.
- Can I say customer service again?
