What is Pypestream?

Pypestream is an automation platform that enterprises use to give people better self-service options. It is a self-service automation platform, delivered as a turnkey solution and sold on a pay-for-performance basis. Its centerpiece is the Pype, an app driven by cloud-based microapps. Pypes offer self-service assistants.

Pypes are built in the Engagement Studio, which is a visual editor used to rapidly build and deploy the microapps that drive engagement in a Pype and other channels. It features a palette of rich-media widgets, real-time previews and a no-code/low-code user interface.

Additionally, Pypestream can be used to support the employee experience with an intelligent virtual assistant that can be used for a variety of purposes, such as password reset, purchase requests and authorizations, or other onboarding and employee self-service tasks.

Pypestream has been a game-changer for companies focused on self-service processes, call deflection, and content awareness. The product has helped businesses streamline their customer service operations by providing a conversational AI service, ensuring timely resolution of customer support-related issues. Users have commended Pypestream's excellent customer service and its team's understanding of their needs throughout the entire process.

The most significant impact of Pypestream has been the integration with Docusign, which is expected to solve many problems for companies. Working with Pypestream has been a great experience as the team goes above and beyond to ensure the success of deployments. Users have reported that they truly understand their requirements and help them come up with ideas and solutions for improving the automated experience. Pypestream's customer success team has received high praise from users as they have gone above and beyond to ensure the product meets their needs.

Comprehensive Solution: Users found Pypestream to be a comprehensive solution, providing chat and human-in-the-loop agent handoff in a single pane of glass. This feature eliminated the need for users to manage two products and contracts separately, resulting in a more efficient and streamlined experience. Many reviewers praised this aspect of the software.

Easy to Use: According to multiple reviewers, Pypestream was easy for staff and customers to use, with seamless integration with any apps. The virtual assistant was incredibly flexible and could integrate with many other platforms and APIs. This flexibility allowed users to customize solutions for just about every business need.

Quick Deployment: Several users were impressed by how quickly they were able to deploy Pypestream's conversational AI service. They also appreciated how the Pypestream services team guided them through a painless migration from keyword-based scripting to advanced NLU.

Inaccurate NLU: Some users have reported that Pypestream's basic NLU process may struggle with accuracy when dealing with multi-intent and entity utterances. However, reviewers note that the company is working to improve this by using classifiers from Dialogflow and others.

Difficult Access Control: According to some reviewers, it may be difficult to control access to the software as any developer in the company could publish to any Pypestream chatbot.

Limited Reporting and Analytics Functionalities: The reporting and analytics functionalities of Pypestream are not very comprehensive out of the box, according to some reviews. While these features are improving over time, reviewers suggest that real-time access to a detailed heat map would be helpful. Additionally, users feel that data reporting solutions could use refinement, and more sophisticated real-time dashboards would also be beneficial.

The Pypestream platform is being used to build and deploy Conversational AI Chatbot services. Primarily to help drive self service, meet the customer with a digital virtual assistant, and help with sales and support initiatives. Some goals that the platform assists with are contact center call deflection, automation efficiencies of repetitive tasks, and e-commerce functional support.
  • Native live agent platform
  • Managed services for service creation and maintenance
  • Custom analytics
  • Generative AI - Large Language Model Support
  • Standardized Reporting
  • Custom UI Support
  • Developer Tools
Pypestream is suited for standard chatbot and conversational flows versus more multi-departmental scenarios. They do very well with guided flow bot services which are great for agent bots within a contact center, but less so for those implementations that have a large document management implementation for FAQs. They do well with service integrations; however, at times troubleshooting edge cases that are impacting performance and adoption can take a while to remedy. I want to believe that better monitoring tools on the platform side would alleviate this for them.
  • Native live agent platform which removes the need for a 3rd party live agent application
  • Service feature assortment - Carousels, Multiple Menu Types, Image, Video, and web hook integrations
  • Custom analytics solution to help you dive deeper in understanding performance and where opportunities exist to improve or expand
  • Enabled the contact center business lane to grow a chat agent support channel that has a 2 to 1 (customer to agent) support ratio
  • Provides an alternate channel for training, marketing information, and data services which help grow our business and support different value streams
  • Azure Bot Service (Microsoft Bot Framework)
In comparison to Microsoft Bot Framework or now Azure AI service structure, where Pypestream is better suited is in those organizations who want to truly have a partner in development. Pypestream allows the flexibility for your Dev teams to do it themselves, or to be in a managed service where you provide requirements and information and they build and allow you to test and give approvals. They are more willing to work directly with you versus a Microsoft where you will eventually get pushed off to a 3rd party partner to help with advanced implementations.
