It is an electronic way for us to maintain patient files. It solves the problem of massive amounts of paper documentation tracking and storage. Literally, everyone in our agency uses WellSky Kinnser in some way to perform their job duties.
  • It provides very basic tools to schedule visits and capture chart notes from clinicians.
  • It has a decent search feature.
  • It works on a desktop computer.
  • There appears to be no configuration for the site to work well on a mobile phone. Difficult to capture patient signatures and save charts in progress.
  • No integration with other software systems, ie; no way to import new users from an HRIS.
  • Just some standard reports available, no room for any DIY customized reporting.
  • No way to set job title-specific User Profiles to grant the same user role access to specific disciplines.
  • Time-consuming and tedious user profile set up, have to remember to go back into the newly created profile to update the demographics of the user. Not an intuitive programming feature - it should be a logical workflow to bring you through the steps of creating a user, assigning roles, and then updating the demographics. Lots of room for user errors in forgetting to finish all three steps.
  • No tool for a supervisory role for clinicians to be assigned as a lead over a group of other clinicians to ensure that they are completing their charting timely and correctly without giving that supervisor access to the ENTIRE patient roster.
I've not used any other Agency Management software besides WellSky Kinnser, but in my discussions with clinicians here at my company, the gist is that Kinnser is more user friendly for the clinical staff by allowing them to start and stop documenting patient charts or by doing things 'out of order' vs. some other software services that force things to be done in a specific sequence to ensure compliance standards. The Administrative side of WellSky Kinnser leaves much to be desired - there are not many built-in tools to identify gaps in business operations.
  • The ability to capture electronic signatures from patients with a GPS coordinate location capture. This ensures that visits were completed and not falsified by clinicians.
  • A basic report can be produced to show productivity (patient visits with start/end times) in up to 90-day periods.
  • Online tutorial courses and articles are available in the WellSky Community portal to give you a place to educate yourself about a basic process.
  • There is a "Work Log" report that you can use to audit a users activities in Kinnser.
  • It has eliminated paper patient files which is a wonderful thing.
  • It provides a single place for our clinicians to see what is assigned to them each day/week.
