Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Asana for project management and issue tracking across multiple departments. This helped us defined future goals, track current issues, and increase project visibility and communication between departments.

Pros and Cons

In my opinion, Asana is very easy to use and intuitive.
Setting up projects and organizing tasks is very quick and easy.
Granting outside access to tasks is very simple.
Multiple integrations exist to customize Asana to fit your particular style of project/task management.

Visibility into what other people are working on is limited.
No built in Gannt charting.

Return on Investment

The positive impact Asana has had on our organization is an increase in communication and more project visibility.

Alternatives Considered

Workfront, JIRA Software, Podio and Mavenlink

Asana is very simple and straight forward, other more expensive products offer more features but require you to do project management their way. Asana provides a nice interface for task management.

Likelihood to Recommend

Asana seems very appropriate for small teams or companies with a flexible project structure. It is great for task management and organization but there other products that are better suited if you're looking for more traditional project management.
