ClickUp - a tool that enables excellence in business execution
Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
As Head of Product, I use ClickUp to clearly communicate our product roadmap to both internal and external stakeholders. ClickUp has helped us to create and track measurable goals using the Goals feature. This has also helped us to ensure we have a lean workflow to focus on what matters most.
We've been able to share our roadmap to our external partners, too, by using the sharable/public board which has aided in transparency and live tracking.
I also use ClickUp for my personal to-do list, to ensure that I can track various data to measure and improve how I work.

Pros
- Tying tasks to goals for measurable outcomes
- Board configurability to meet our organisation's and teams' custom needs
- Toggle views between boards, gannt charts and lists
- "Me mode" is awesome so that we can have people easily focus on their own tasks, as well as seeing the broader team's items, without having to duplicate boards so it's a lot cleaner
Cons
- Some of the status items don't always work for us. For example, it would be great to have an "on hold" status or "backlog" that can come before "to do", but the "to do" is fixed
- Some of the scrolling functionality on the gantt chart is finicky on a Macbook so instead of scrolling left, my mousepad often reads the action as going 'Back'
- Tables within the docs could have more configuration. We have had to embed a Google Sheet which doesn't work as well as a built in solution
- This made collaboration possible, which we never had before. Linking the metrics between departments to the overall goals was a new one for us and made a big difference to how we approach work
- Our deadline adherence improved to 80% from around 35%
- Our future planning became more accurate as we could forecast, mitigate and navigate around blockers
Previously, we did not have cross-collaboration, but rather we had vague visibility of what was going on in other areas.
Now, we are able to see where certain efforts may have a dual impact for different departments, which brings exponentially more value to the executed items, and makes them more streamlined.
Not only has brainstorming become more involved, the ability to take those ideas and make them into SMART goals and task has become very easy.

As a fully remote company, this has enabled teams to work asynchronously a lot more, which has halved the team meetings and reduced update sessions by 75%.
ClickUp also makes it easy to deal with problems proactively as the transparency it allows surfaces symptoms immediately, which can signal an underlying problem.

ClickUp's value for the cost is a lot higher for our company. It is intuitive to use, and the configurability is unmatched by its competitors.
The sleek look and feel makes this product enjoyable to work with, and ClickUp balances simplicity in design with complexity in the structure. It's easy to start using.
Other products like Jira are intimidating to start and feel unintuitive. Trello on the other hand, is too simple and doesn't have the same level of depth that ClickUp has.
