Overall Satisfaction with Paycom
We chose Paycom so our employees could manage their own time, payroll, and personal information. Paycom handles all our payroll taxes, HR documentation and pretty much everything HR related and does a fabulous job at it. Our employees love Paycom as well. We have 3 different concrete companies, with multiple languages spoke and they all use Paycom with ease.
Pros
- Their software is top notch! Extremely user friendly.
- Their customer service is great. You most always speak to the same person on your "team" they designate to you.
- They have so many "standard" reports set up in their system, ones so specific, you would think they know HR a little ;)
- Year End Tax time, has been breeze with Paycom. W2's come with no issues, reporting, etc.
- Their benefit coordinators are extremely knowledgable of benefits and they make enrollments so seamless!
Cons
- The documents and checklists section is probably the only section I might struggle with a bit from time to time. It's a little more complex than other areas of their website.
- They have cut our admins time in half. We're spending much less time on HR tedious tasks.
- The reason our time has been cut in half, is the responsibility is transferred from our admin to the employee with Paycom. Which cuts liability down as well.
- open enrollment is not dreaded near as much with Paycom!
I handled implementation for our companies solo which was a tad stressful but my implementation team was fantasic. They answered all quesitons I had, were beyond patient with me and informative. I was sad when I was transitioned to my long term team. I wanted to stay in implementation!
The customer service for starters. I used ADP for years and the customer service was awful. Their software is not user friendly either. When they upgrade something, they do not train you. The last straw I had with ADP was when they made complete chaos out of our open enrollment and our manuals team did not enroll employees until 13 days after they were supposed to be enrolled. I processed Payroll in Quickbooks which was just that, only payroll. I did all HR myself, including taxes. It doesn't really compare to Paycom in that sense. I chose Paycom because 1, the person that sold me on it knew their product in and out. The pricing was better than others with more options. What they could offer as far as onboarding, HR, payroll and employee self service was perfect. Has exceeded my expectations.

Paycom Feature Ratings
Support and Self-Service
Yes, employee self service foremost. Before Paycom, I was inputting all employee information manually allowing room for error. All new hires were put in manually. Our open enrollment was all manual. Everything is done from the employee directly into Paycom.
Open Enrollment. We had our first open enrollment with Paycom in 2023. We also had a full carrier change at the same time. It went so smooth, actually smoothest open enrollment I have been through from an admin and employee POV.
Paycom allows employees to view and manage their timecards and payroll. With the Approve My Check feature, any and all errors can be caught prior to being paid which cuts back on so many errors. Not allowing payroll to be processed without reimbursements, bonuses, incorrect time, etc. Our managers now have a better grasp on their employees time, because with Paycom all our managers approve their employees time which in 37 years, was never done prior.
