Overall Satisfaction with Webex Calling

Webex Calling is the telephony service in my organization, with more than 1500 extensions/end users. Now, [...] has the availability of mobility, hybrid work and flexibility in the telephony communications, while integrating with Webex Contact Center and in turn with the ITSM tool of our service desk and our CRM (SAP). Webex Calling it's great! We can also enjoy the latest innovations at zero cost, such as summarization and simultaneous translation.

Pros

  • Connection stability
  • Noise reduction and optimizing the speaker voice
  • Programmability and API's

Cons

  • Pricing
  • Analytics in Webex Control Hub
  • WxC Integration with Third-Party Phone Systems
  • Reduce on-premises cost
  • Optimize the phone communication
  • Add complementary services to the telephony service
Webex Meetings, Webex Contact Center, and webex devices. We can manage all these things in Webex Control Hub, helping us to view, analyze, and troubleshoot the infrastructure in a single pane of glass. The end users are very happy with the Webex Calling App on their laptops and mobile phones because they now have mobility and an optimal platform to work.
Webex Calling with the Webex App offers a secure collaborative space for calling, messaging, meetings, and file sharing with high levels of security, easy administration, and support with the Webex Control Hub. Webex Calling alone may not be very attractive due to the decline in the use of telephone services, but with the addition of complementary services to Webex Calling, the solution is innovative and very useful.
The best thing about Webex Calling is its quality and innovation, as they frequently add capabilities and features to the service without requiring additional payments. This isn't the case with Avaya or Microsoft. Furthermore, Cisco Webex Calling can now be integrated with different systems and services, creating a robust and highly functional technological ecosystem.

Cisco Hybrid Work

  • Webex Meetings
  • Webex App
  • Webex Calling
  • Working from anywhere (e.g., coffee shop, airport)
  • Working from an office or other company space
  • Working from home
The implementation process of hybrid work is a very important phase in technology deployment. In this moment, we are planning and designing the final solution, preparing design documents (LLD), and setting all the variables to start the implementation plan once hardware (local gateway, phones, videoconference endpoints) and licenses arrive. Also, we are preparing a detailed schedule in a Gantt diagram to be clear in each step.
The main challenges we face in implementing hybrid work are that the end client is a bank, the largest bank in Colombia, so the challenge is to guarantee the operability, security, and adoption of the technology by users and end clients. In some ways, they are accustomed to hybrid work, but on our part, we had to guarantee more than 50 use cases in both telephony and workspaces.
The use of hybrid work solutions has had a profoundly positive impact on our customers. Cloud telephony with Webex Calling, direct and effective collaboration through the Webex App, and telepresence in meetings with Webex Meetings and Webex Room Devices (Kits and Boards) are highly valued by customers seeking efficiency, interoperability, and quality.
Hybrid work is here to stay. During the 2020-2021 pandemic, it was a mandatory solution for organizations and individuals to maintain their business activities. Currently, it's part of people's emotional well-being, flexibility, and quality of life. While it's always good to go to the office and spend time with colleagues and friends, the mobility and dynamism of today's world mean that being able to work from anywhere, at any time, and with the technological tools that allow it to be done efficiently will always be highly valued.
Cisco devices have always stood out for their excellent quality, stability, and design. Additionally, and specifically in hybrid work technologies, Cisco has excelled in the interoperability they've established with Microsoft, now with Zoom, and also with Google, as well as significantly improving the user-friendliness of their administration and configuration interfaces, such as Cisco Webex Control Hub. Other brands have improved significantly, and it can't be denied; it remains a challenge for Cisco to improve pricing, especially for the Latin American market.

Evaluating Webex Calling and Competitors

Yes - Microsoft Teams. The organization's new policy is to replace Microsoft Teams with Cisco Webex as a meeting and collaboration tool. Microsoft will remain the provider for desktop software and the office suite. The overall goal is to get the most out of meeting rooms with Cisco Webex Room Kit, Room Kit Pro, and Room Kit EQ devices.
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
The decision was driven by the desire to use Cisco video devices in meeting rooms, as well as the interoperability they offer with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom. Additionally, the stability of the cloud solution, which guarantees over 99% availability, has been proven, making it highly flexible and attractive.
The process of analyzing the solutions to be deployed involves a rigorous technical and financial analysis of the options. In this case, if we had to do the analysis again, we would most likely choose Cisco, because although the financial investment proved to be significant, the cutting-edge technology, the use of AI capabilities, the flexibility of the subscription model, and the cloud-level security meet all the organization's requirements.
