ActiveCampaign

For the small business who is just getting started or has a list smaller than 2,500 contacts, ActiveCampaign is a leader in smart communication. Compared with free (or cheap) alternatives like MailChimp or Constant Contact, the feature set provides a lot more value. The one real caveat here is that you have to really want to use the features. For someone who is happy to just send out their monthly newsletter, this might be more than you need.

There's often a controversial gap between, being called a sales-driven company or marketing-driven company.   • Creating emails or templates is VERY easy as well as the automation builder is easy to use.
  • Affordable for small companies. Even if your database is growing, the price will of course increase but it is still affordable.

Cons

  • Unavailability of incoming text messaging integration. They should integrate this feature for better engagement.
  • Sometimes I have difficulties creating my campaign through the HTML builder. I think it happens because of some bugs.
  • Its pricing is very steep for a small company or for a starter.

  • Post-sales client relationship management - once a client is through the sales process, the app becomes irrelevant with regard to that client. I need a separate management system for current clients.

Pipedrive is an amazingly excellent CRM and I definitely recommend that all sales people use it. It is extremely versatile both in its day to day use as well as reporting. It has helped me gather insight into the overall progress of certain pipelines in my business. It has been worth every cent spent

Alternatives Considered

It's easy to set up and accurate deliverability makes it one of my best choices for crucial product promotions. It also helps me with various integrations to reduce my time in creating a campaign.

Pipedrive is a lightweight tool, both in terms of price, and features. This means that it is easy to use and not very expensive. Other apps had unwieldy interfaces, or too deep a feature set (which corresponded to higher costs.). Pipedrive was the the right level of tool for our business.
