Gusto offers three pricing plans for payroll, benefits, and HR.
I used Gusto a long time ago so my memory won't provide much but I believe BambooHR® has more features for tracking that are available for the employee to use/view, which is nice.

Everything is pretty similar, but personally I prefer BambooHR® over Paychex and Gusto over BambooHR® due to Gusto offering personalized 401k plans that you can customize up to the maximum details.

In my experience, I prefer overall reporting and functionality of Rippling, Gusto, and Ease. It is on par with Employee Navigator and Paycom (due to more user friendly design) Prefer to Worklio, Paylocity, and ADP Workforce.

Gusto has an applicant tracking system that we considered using. However, the tool was to simple and did not offer enough customization with application question types, pipeline, and automated emails.

When reviewing which HRIS to go with, BambooHR came out on top for a few reasons. One was the cost compared to others and what you get for that cost. It saved the company money versus what we had, including Lever, ADP, Calamari, etc., and condensed it into one system. Next, the …

In terms of GUI, Gusto is well-made. It's much prettier than APS and Bamboo. Bamboo and APS both have a lot more capability and, thus, are a little more complicated to use. Bamboo does not have a built-in payroll, though they do have a partner. We ultimately ended up going with …

Pros: You can handle multiple time-off requests from your team members at once. A complete list of directories is available to all the employees of the organization. As a result, communication with other employees is easier. All the important documents and agreements are available in one place. Cons: You need to manually check how many team members are on leave on a given day and whether there are any conflicts.

I think Gusto is well-suited for any business, big or small, to use for accounting purposes. It makes it easy to keep track of many things, such as pay stubs, benefits, paid time off, and much more. Where I could see it being less useful is maybe for enterprise businesses with way more employees.

Although the withdrawal is limited to the ACH US accounts, as they aren't real bank accounts, it's a convenient way to get paid fast from Stripe, although if there is a small fee or a chargeback as these are way in payments only, it becomes a nightmare to fix those problems. It does allow the bank accounts to be accepted with Stripe. For any kind of ACH payment to vendors, the service is way too limited, I wasn't able to pay anyone, unless I use the card to do it, as any regular card. In my experience, I think Import export, international trade transactions or high ticket items are impossible due to the small upper limits, for instance I can't use it to pay a vendor for a regular inventory of the latest iPhones(more than a million dollars for just a few items), nor to get paid by an overseas buyer(for instance my clients in Dubai), that buy these items on a daily basis, for these operations is just not suited.

Gusto upsold us labor law posters, but I later found them available for free online. Since we’re a fully remote team, I had to manually download and distribute them digitally. It would be much more efficient if Gusto offered free, auto-distributed digital posters tailored to remote compliance.
Benefits setup is unintuitive for startups
While our rep was helpful, navigating the benefits system felt complex and not tailored to early-stage companies. More guided flows or simplified options for small, remote startups would be a big help.
Limited dashboard customization for remote workflows
As a fully online company, we’d benefit from dashboard options that highlight relevant tools for remote operations—like compliance tracking, digital communications, or onboarding checklists.

Unless they break it, I'm never leaving. It's just too easy. Gusto is also really affordable, and for what I pay, it's worth having the historical record within the system. I like that I can go back and pull up W2's for year's past. This sort of easy access reporting, has been helpful especially when getting reports for PPP loans.

I often have trouble finding where a setting or task I need should be. It's gotten better since we started using BambooHR®, but it's still hard to find things. Support chat is ALWAYS unavailable when I do have a question, even during their posted business hours.
Gusto is pretty user-friendly, and the website is easy to navigate overall. They also offer good, responsive customer support and have helpful articles available when needed. So far, I have not had any major issues with the platform and am overall very happy with it.

Yes, there is a huge team in the back of the online platform or it looks like it because I have never been left without an answer when I have a question or waiting from a response on my chat .... There must be a huge team, this is so great and I always seem to have someone that is very knowledgeable too. So many times in the past I had to leave with customer service that would connect you with someone else because of the expertise, here everyone seems to be some kind of an expert in the HR function.

I love BambooHR. Reports are easy to run and download and it usually covers any types of requests I get from the management team. You get excel or .csv downloads/reports and it is fast and simple, not too crowded so it is easy to read through. We don't integrate the tool yet but again, soon we will. we just did not had the time to utilize it yet but that's the plan.

Gusto's customer service has really deteriorated lately and they seem to have really changed their focus. It used to be when you called you were routed to an individual who knew about payroll, benefits, reporting, etc. but now you get someone who seems to have not received the correct training. My last call about a dismissal payroll took me over an hour of my time and the person still could not help me and finally transferred me to someone else.

The support is really awful. They send you generic answers, and actually don't really understand what is going on. For example, when our re-verification was stuck, support agents told me that the account is active and you can send a payment. I did that, my card was charged, but the payment was declined, because the account was not active

Overall this training was great and our implementation specialist was wonderful and very helpful. We implemented bambooHR in Fall, 2023 then implemented Payroll 1/1/24. A vital piece of information was not known or missed in that we are exempt from State Unemployment Tax and have a Reimbursement Set-up, so bambooHR did not send Payroll Reports to the State. Those reports need to be sent regardless if we are exempt or not.

Payoneer has outperformed them all, with speedier payments, a larger network, and international business accounts. We first tried a few different payment service providers before settling on this one, like PayPal, Payeer, and Skrill. Since my organization has dropped with employees, I always find ways to reduce costs. I thought there would be a cheaper option, but I was glad that my package included a lot for the price, and downgrading would cost more. The rep could have let me downgraded and taken me to a higher package. I am thankful that didn't happen.

There is so much you can do with this platform, it is incredible and so welcoming. We don't utilize it 100% yet just because we are growing and the HR team has not been able to concentrate on other areas offered to us but but we will soon.
