Lansweeper helps organizations see, understand, and make confident decisions about their technology estate across IT, OT, IoT, and Cloud. Lansweeper automatically discovers and inventories every asset: hardware, software, and user—then connects that data to insights about usage, lifecycle, and risk. This is to create what the vendor describes as Technology Asset Intelligence (TAI): a trusted foundation of knowledge that turns raw inventory data into clear, actionable…

Our platform is broken down into Pro and Enterprise Pricing. Pro includes monitoring for all of your cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure. Our Enterprise package includes all of this, plus our AIOps and Machine Learning functionality that provides dynamic thresholds, root cause analysis, anomaly detection and more!
LogicMonitor only charges by the device. What is considered a device? A device is anything with an IP address that you want to monitor, including a physical device or a cloud resource. This means multiple data sources under the same IP address can be monitored for the same price. Unlike some monitoring platforms. we don’t charge per node, interface, or metric.
Broadcom Unified Infrastructure Management gives you an extremely easy implementation facility whether it is the core application, reporting hubs, or agents. Apart from that, it has extremely good customer support. The documentation with respect to each component is really …

Our initial business requirements in 2016 were to monitor Vblock and FlexPod deployments. We had specific gaps with particular storage appliances the monitoring tool we used at that time could not monitor effectively. When evaluating the mentioned solutions, LogicMonitor was …

LogicMonitor has simplified many of the menus and context compared to their competitors. Being cloud based, it is also very lean on local infrastructure.

LogicMonitor was in place prior to my employment with the organization so that decision had already been made. As far as features LogicMonitor compares well with Solarwinds. I would say it is much easier to get support than Solarwinds and much easier from a licensing …

The above are just two tools we used for monitoring which I would say both did around 35-40% of what we needed. So even using both, we still had gaps in our monitoring. After consolidating these two tools into LogicMonitor we had what we already did covered as well as things …

Well Suited: - Multiple units (you may split Nimsoft per Groups, companies, etc.) - When your Business Teams NEED Dashboards (they'll love it after they learn how to use, for example, if they discover that the may even run SQL queries together with monitor the webpage of the application, and display business data) Less appropriate: - If you are beginning to monitor your environment (because you need to know your environment at least a little bit to check if the entire set of monitoring Nimsoft plugins will really help you or you will only use it to ping your application) - If you don't have at least one (i do recommend 2 or 3 after some short time) people dedicated to deploy and fine-tune the monitoring. The tool is really good, but if you don't have anyone working on it, you will notice that you're spending money in an elephant to kill an ant or worst, that you passed the entire year, and still have the same problems of the last year, cause no one put the hands enough time in the tool. I saw this happening during the first year when I was the only one working with the tool and still supporting the entire team.

Lansweeper I believe is well suited for any environment - its low cost and small footprint make it an easy addition to any organization, big or small, that is looking for an asset inventory solution that can either replace or supplement existing asset management systems. It may not be well suited for situations where a lot of customization is necessary, such as pulling in custom fields or details from equipment that don't reside in a registry.

For environments that mostly use VMs and baremetal devices, LogicMonitor is a fantastic choice. It lends itself especially well to situations where you want individual teams to be able to manage the monitoring and observability of their own domains, and if you take the time to customize it to your environment in the frontend, you can get to the point where your LogicMonitor platform administrators are very rarely needed.

Inventory - LANSweeper scans the network for devices - anything with an SNMP trap or using AD or local credentials. We can get an in-depth look at devices.
Reporting - LANSweeper can generate just about any report you can imagine. We can check RAM in groups and determine where upgrades are needed. We can find local printers (which aren't allowed on our network) and address that issue with the user. We can check CPU type to help determine end of life without our network.
Printers - It's nice to have a quick look at printer statuses. Toner levels, out of paper, and service errors are all reported via LANSweeper.

I'd like to see improvements in inventory management. Currently node management isn't as efficient as I'd like.
I also see a big opportunity to offer greater customization in the Detail Tab. I'd like the ability to pick and chose which metrics are displayed by default in the Detail Tab snapshot.
Can only scan what it sees. Doesn't show every item on the machine. Patches are also absent.
Software Recognition is OK with Microsoft. It is dire within our network of multiple products. Recognition is at about 35% with constant manual work needed to baseline for each manufacturer in each network
Datacenter compliance is a manual project. We used Excel extensively.
License optimization is limited to installations v surplus licenses. We need to know who's using what and how.

This product has met virtually all of our needs. It was easy to implement and has been simple to support. Customization has been intuitive with many options available. They keep adding features and expanding available options. The future of LogicMonitor looks even better than it is today which is very promising. The management and support teams at LogicMonitor are always helpful

The tool is a web gui, and is mostly easy to navigate, but certain areas are more unclear than others. Identifying what im filtering for, or what menu option has what impact can be less straightforward than I'd like. Overall though, this tool will provide me with information other tools in my box just don't.

Set up is super easy. Just stand up a small Linux or Windows server to act as a collector. There are no agents to install on monitored devices and all you need is SNMP or WMI access. When creating dashboards, all you have to do is find the widget on the device you want to show up and choose the menu option to add it.

Lots of info online there are tons of SQL Reports you can copy from the web as Lansweeper and users post many of them. They also send out alerts that pop up on Lansweeper, letting you know of an update that you need for certain software and provide an SQL report so you can scan your system to see what PCs need this update.

The sales team support we received was top notch. They worked hand in hand to make sure the product met all expectations. So far we have not really had to work with support that much; we have worked with setup team after purchase to deploy product fully. No issues so far and we are four weeks in.

The implementation experience was awesome for me, as the LogicMonitor team was really helpful to us. They installed everything on our primary server and provided clear, intelligible explanations. They even trained our non-tech team on it as well. Therefore, my team and I had a very simple and pleasurable implementation experience.

All tools have their own gaps , some seem to do more than others, some just work better. With UIM we have found a sweet spot with features, price point, pros, cons, etc
In short it has more features and its a more robust solution and it works well with those solutions. I am sure it will keep track with Ai and action recommendations in the future as I didnt see any of it on the platform (at least the one we use) I thin that is the only thing that is missing in the current product

Our business used the trial period they provided on one of our systems and conducted sessions with all of this software. Our team tested all of these software options before deciding on LogicMonitor, as our business is expanding daily and we needed a system that could accommodate our growing workforce and automatically add systems to our network, which LogicMonitor alone provided.

Haven't really used it but our initial onboarding PS was disappointing. Felt like we were being told what we needed to cover as opposed to what we wanted to cover. In addition, we were pushed into using the PS in tight time frames and we were not ready to do so.

Business Units love It - Good for them, but worse for the IT Team until we share the responsibility of the dashboards.
If no one put their hands on it, it will take some time to give results. I'm talking about environments with 400 devices, for example, in something about 6 months to one year, if no one is dedicated, and depending on the consulting company. Some, even certified by CA, was not good. If possible, try to use CA services directly.
IT Teams, after they start to notice that the tool really work, will want to monitor everything. Depending on the company, this will be more or less easy to measure, as ROI. And I'm telling this because usually IT teams don't know how to sell them to C-Levels, and the tool, because of the price, is always a motivation to questions like: "What is this tool? Do you really need it? Is there another way to monitor this?"

It had a positive impact on solutions expense cause several teams we're using different solutions with different costs that used several servers and DB resources. Now, we've been able to simply that a lot with Lansweeper.
With my previous point, people had to train and learn about each of their solutions. Now we can put a team in charge and so the other teams can focus on other tasks.
Last year Lansweeper changed their licencing prices a lot so it slashed our budget.
