Experience testing. We have many many many forms that require the user step thru certain sequences to get to specific places to enter in the information. Once achieved, the user must use that information to perform other actions that must be frequently tested for response time and information accuracy. Once the first several forms are completed, they will in turn effect the outcome of the other actions. CP allows us to test each step of the experience and allows us to focus on specific actions and results. CP is not well suited to test environments that are ever changing as it is not as modularized as it can be. In environments that constantly change, it is difficult to keep CP up to date.

LogicMonitor is a great and easy to use monitoring software. It is not a heavy utilization product or an agent based product which allows you to isolate it from the environment. It is great for basic monitoring. Because it can leverage API's, it can read Active Directory as well as configs on switches.

- The built-in alerts are fantastic. By default all alerts are enabled. You can fine tune each alert as needed.
- The deployment was quick. Within 4 hours I had about 90% of our environment configured in LogicMonitor.
- The UI is quick.
- The support and POC team are fantastic. They helped us learn about the product and helped us configure the solution for our environment.

- Adding an endpoint to be monitored requires a lot of steps (since there are a lot of functions and features). A quick-add feature would be nice. If the settings are similar, the interface allows you to duplicate an existing setup and tweak the settings.

- Clicking through different tabs on the left nav pulls up entirely different interfaces and is a bit jarring at times.
- Being more linkable to share or export the exact screen / time window that you're looking at would be helpful.
- It does a very wide variety of monitoring, pretty well, but it is very limited on the SQL database related metrics / tracking which requires us to still maintain a separate tool for monitoring more in depth database related metrics.

This product has met virtually all of our needs. It was easy to implement and has been simple to support. Customization has been intuitive with many options available. They keep adding features and expanding available options. The future of LogicMonitor looks even better than it is today which is very promising. It's hard to find the functionalities that I am looking for in the application. Even if I did something in the past, after a time I have to re-learn again where the functionalities are. This is a powerful tool, but not user-friendly. Texts in the buttons and menus are not always meaningful or easily comprehensible.

Set up is super easy. Just stand up a small Linux or Windows server to act as a collector. There are no agents to install on monitored devices and all you need is SNMP or WMI access. When creating dashboards, all you have to do is find the widget on the device you want to show up and choose the menu option to add it.

I have supported 20-30 different vendor tools in my career and Catchpoint, by far, has the best customer service that I have ever experienced. They are very responsive and thoroughly track and provide visibility on progress. Their level one resources are generally very knowledgeable. Also, support is more than happy to join bridge calls to help troubleshoot application issues if requested. Finally, the scope of service provided by support is not just typical support activities - they will also help in creating new monitors, providing training/education, etc... I am extremely happy with Catchpoint support!

The Implementation team kept us on track even when we didn't have time. They made up for our lack of focus at times and boiled everything down to simple tasks which enabled a quick deployment and an easy transition to regularly using the tool. They also kept us in a post-implementation for a while after which ensured we have multiple support options after go-live

Primary reason we went with Catchpoint is that they offered us actual backbone testing locations. All the other features like a filmstrip and traceroutes have been very beneficial as well and were not available in the competitors' solutions.

We actually use both. We use LogicMonitor for the actual monitoring and alerting of our systems and Sumo Logic for aggregating the logs and finding "patterns" or providing some sort of audit trail. In my mind they are two different systems and should be used as such, even with some similarities.
