Chose ClickUp
We chose ClickUp over Asana primarily for the docs. With Asana, it is really limiting to not be able to jump into docs natively within the platform. We value documentation and therefore really appreciate being able to easily add docs to everything we do. Whether a task or a …
Chose ClickUp
I selected ClickUp over all of these due to the extensive functionality available. Most would do this well of that well, but nothing would fully cover all I was seeking to do in one platform, or if it did, would be missing something, such as custom fields or sub-tasks or …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp offers more flexibility and customization, and the ability to share tasks and items between people and projects.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp's learning curve is very low vs. other tools, but it's only suitable if you need some complexity in your task organisation. If it's only for a simple list with tasks, there are other solutions to look at.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp has a much more customizable product and they put out new features/fixes more rapidly than any of their competitors. Their API is well documented and supports many features and their support team is top-notch for thinking outside the box to find creative solutions when …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp was more affordable and has so many features compared to these other tools. I also believe ClickUp has a really strong community and support system. They rolled out so many features month after month for a while that it was like Christmas every Friday, waiting to see …
Chose ClickUp
A lot of the other websites I have visited required me to either end up paying for a subscription or required some sort of purchase. While ClickUp does have premium subscriptions, the site is just as useful with a free account. I also found ClickUp to be easier to understand …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp Business Plan Task Record ✔️ Prioritization ✔️ Task Snooze ✔️ Customization ✔️ Start Date ✔️ Templates ✔️ The other software that I tried do not do all of these things.
Chose ClickUp
We were recommended towards other products but when we started researching our options on our own, there really wasn't any competition. ClickUp had all the customizing options we needed for complex project and task tracking with high automation. I loved the way we could add our …
Chose ClickUp
When I was tasked with selecting a project management app for our company, I was impressed when I came across the robust features lists comparisons of ClickUp and its competitors. To be honest, it's what sold me on using ClickUp. I was able to at a glance see feature by feature …
Chose ClickUp
I was searching for a tool that managed various level of tasks folders (and subfolders) in order to organize a very diversified job. I was also looking for a tool with a view that allowed me to see what i have to do today (not perfect in ClickUp but better than in other)
Chose ClickUp
After testing lots of project/task management and productivity apps, I think ClickUp provides the best combination of functions found in other apps on the market, and has lots of useful integrations with other services.
Chose ClickUp
It combines both task management, project documentation, planning in timesheet and recording the progress throughout the project. I believe it is just part of all possibilities that I personally use here. But I know that our management uses more features like specific graphs, …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp offers more features and a better experience than the others. Asana was the oldest competitor, and is great for task Management, but does not have many features beyond that.
Chose ClickUp
All these apps cannot compete in the number of features and ease of integration and visualization that ClickUp offers. But most of them offer the possibility to work offline, which doesn't sound very important until you're on a flight without wifi or a place without a signal …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp has allowed us to consolidate all of the above platforms into one. Also, customizing our ClickUp views has allowed us to properly taylor our task views to our project management/team requirements in order to increase organization and boost productivity.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp has a powerful and simple UI, that allows us to combine the effective components of other platforms into a single one.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp has more features, which can be overwhelming but I find that you can make it work the way you need to make it work. Trello and Asana are more simple so some people might like that better but you can use ClickUp just like you use Trello or Asana and then you have the …
Chose ClickUp
It's more suitable to our needs.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp is completely cloud-based which helps to manage my work from different places. Notion offers a desktop app but I faced difficulty syncing. Microsoft Planner was very handy but it lacks features compared to ClickUp. Wrike and Todoist are more focused on to-dos and face …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp's flexibility and time tracking are what set it apart from every other tools I tried. I was able to customize ClickUp to exactly what I needed from a project management tool. From there, having time tracking directly associated with each task and totaled up for each …
Chose ClickUp
I have used pretty much every checklist and project management tool there is and we've settled on ClickUp as being the most robust and flexible, while still being really easy for the end user.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp has given us everything these other apps have offered and then some. Overall we like how it is packaged and continuously updated and enhanced at a good cadence.
Todoist
Chose Todoist
I tried both ClickUp and Airtable for task management, but they were too complex for my needs and each had a major learning curve. Todoist is intuitive to use from the start and not bloated with features I would never use. It was easy to jump in and add projects, tasks, and set …
Chose Todoist
I've tried using project management software and other task management tools in the past but I have always come back to Todoist for its ease of use and simple yet effective functionality. It does a specific thing and does it really well without trying too hard or overextending …
Chose Todoist
Todoist is free and is much better than a Post-It note, as you will have to keep replacing the Post-It notes and you may forget about certain tasks. Not with Todoist!

ClickUp
ClickUp is fantastic for a company that has a strong emphasis on execution and project management. ClickUp feature set is amongst one of the strongest in the industry. As a software business, we require this sort of feature set for things like sprints, GANTT, agile and much more. ClickUp can be daunting for companies that are looking for basic project management without the bells and whistles. There are other project management providers that have a much simpler platform. If you are a fast growing dynamic tech company I really don't see another option that rivals ClickUp

There have been lots of times when we need to add a new habit into our daily work routines, and having the option to do so in the To-Doist app on the very first screen is incredibly helpful. It's a good reminder, and I believe that professionals who truly appreciate and properly value the implementation of good habits would be very grateful for this feature. It's also a time saver because you don't have to manually type it in every day/week / etc.

  • Notifications about every update, so you never really need to go asking around for one.

Cons
ClickUp
  • The mobile app is confusing to use and does not represent a mobile version of the web app.
  • Some new features are included with the current plan and some you have to pay extra for.
  • Learning curve can be a bit much for non-digital native users.

  • The Todoist application now works almost identically across all platforms. There is a minor improvement that I would like to see on iOS and that is the ability to show task count by custom filter.
  • In Board view, I want to be able to easily add sub-tasks to a parent task.
  • Besides those two minor improvements, I am extremely happy with the application.

We're very pleased with how the system works in general. For over a year we've barely ever had any problems with ClickUp and there might have only been one or two times when it wasn't operational for us due to a global emergency. Moreover, when we had a problem once with renewing our licenses we've been contacted directly by our account manager and taken care of in a very professional way (with a due refund as well). The exceptional customer service makes us firmly believe that ClickUp is just the right tool for us.

Usability
ClickUp
Far easier to use than any other PM tool. ClickUp is incredibly intuitive and had us saving time and energy within the first week of implementation. In my opinion, PM software should make it easier to focus on the deliverables - it shouldn't take all your time and energy to learn how to use the tool in the first place. ClickUp is a user-friendly tool that actually helps us focus on what's important.

Excellent features and concept, simple implementation, but the software is not very clear in training new users and communicating features. The occasional unexplained crash or freeze is not handled gracefully by the desktop software, requiring either the user or tech support to manually restart.

Reliability and Availability
ClickUp
For over a year ClickUp was unavailable to us just twice for a couple of hours. I would say for a system this big and working globally that was a minor issue. They managed to fix all the issues within a couple hours and then it was back up and running perfectly fine.

Performance
ClickUp
I understand that it's a beast and does a lot of things, which is probably why it's laggy. But I do find it takes longer than I'd like to load, and if I am sending a complex document to a client or team member they aren't quite sure if they're getting the right thing at first. This is actually a pretty significant problem - my biggest beef with ClickUp.

Support Rating
ClickUp
ClickUp support is incredible! They respond quickly with any questions about my issue, provide a timeline, and elaborate on how they will solve my problem. They are incredibly respectful and accommodating. Whenever I run into an issue, I know that ClickUp support will be happy to answer any questions and help my team out. When I start a support ticket, I know that I won't be getting sent article recommendations, I will be speaking to their customer support team immediately

I've used Todoist for about three years now and I haven't needed to contact support, which I'm considering a 10 out of 10. Honestly, their platform is so easy to use that I never had to look up a knowledge base or forum to be able to do what I wanted in Todoist. So I'm not sure what their support system looks like or how it works, but I do know that if I haven't needed support, that's also a good sign!

There are multiple guides on literally all of the functions you can find within the system, therefore it's easy to learn anything you'd really like to use, starting from project and people management, down to Gantts, mind maps, time tracking, inviting Clients as guests to work with you on the projects and so much more.

Alternatives Considered
ClickUp
They are all very similar, but ClickUp was easier to use. The UX design is great, everything falls into place. I didn’t have to train anyone from the team on how to use it. They easily understood how it works. It’s simple, clear and straightforward. Every move you make, it’s actually what you expect it to do.

Doist
[Todoist: To-Do List & Task Manager] is significantly simpler and cheaper than most of the alternatives and doesn't complicate the management of tasks with a plethora of unnecessary features. While all the alternatives have strong feature sets, what Todoist does better than any of them is manage tasks, in theory the central point of them all.

Scalability
ClickUp
Scaling with ClickUp is superb. If you create a workflow best suited for your organization then it's all about creating new accounts and teaching the new employees the workflow you're using. It's that simple. There is no black magic when it comes to Clickup.

ClickUp
  • ClickUp has had a positive impact since it has allowed the Global Operations Department to have a consistent collaboration by having this app as a repository of Projects and Programs, which has enabled a faster synchronization and stronger collaboration to better allocate resources.
  • A positive impact is a faster and clearer prioritization process for the executives since this app allows you to have a full picture of what's going on across the board.

  • Location-based reminders ensured that my staff didn't miss things when they went onsite with a customer. This has led to renewals on a regular basis.
  • Sharing of task visibility for managers with their direct reports has enhanced 1-on-1 meetings and ensured that field coaches kept focused
  • The cost of Todoist vs. the value it creates is a huge selling point for the software. For the price per user, I've found nothing that even comes close!
