Considered Both Products
Conga Composer
Chose Conga Composer
Conga Composer was easier to use by far than PandaDoc and had more options than DocuSign for our particular org.
Chose Conga Composer
Conga was always the standard when first evaluating, it has the track record over others and was most used and felt it would handle our needs.
PandaDoc
Chose PandaDoc
PandaDoc is comparable to Conga in every way. In most cases, it is a matter of preference as to which option you go with. I am not sure how they stack up against each other in price.
Chose PandaDoc
We looked at Conga as an alternative for PandaDoc. While we found that more or less the two solutions had feature parity, with a few exceptions on both sides. Pricing was similar between both platforms with differences based on feature requirements. The deciding factor …
Chose PandaDoc
The awesome part of PandaDoc is for the price you are getting both a document management and e-signature application. The ability to quickly embed videos, links and pictures in templates also makes this product stand out from its competition. PandaDoc's support team is awesome, …

We used to manually process information which are available in Salesforce to another system, right now we just click a button and these information is available in another system. This process eliminate human error and provide accurate information in our financial reporting. This process helps our accounting department provide efficiency and accuracy on providing data.

It is ideal for going from phone call (or even while on a phone call) to sending an NDA or SOW out to a client. I have done this often, and have found the faster I get them out, the higher the likelihood of getting a signature. While it is more than capable for many proposals, for very complex proposals, numbering in the 100s of pages (not uncommon for complex ERP proposals), it is not the right tool. If you incorporate Powerpoint Slides in your proposals, it is not great for that either.

Cons
Conga
  • It is challenging to go from solutions to templates and then to each account record to generate - is there a way to generate for all?
  • the search for reports is unwieldy - can there be a "recents" to cut down on what reports we are searching through? or a way to view folders.
  • i have tried saving time by having conga composer up on several records and you can't generate records. again, if there is a way to generate for all?

  • The visibility of who has completed but not fully signed. I love the dashboard but have to consistently scroll to get back to where I was looking and find interesting agreements to surface where we have not counter signed yet.
  • More calculated fields that are custom to us

Though I love how easily Conga Composer ties into Salesforce and its given analytics, it takes a lot of data entry to get up and running. I don't love that sometimes queries can take a long time to pull. I like keeping our marketing templates consistent via templates in the system. Pulling multiple objects into one report is fantastic too.

The reason I gave it a rating of 7 is because it's probable, but not for sure. This is because there are a few little things we don't love about pandadoc. Mostly that there is not conditional logic such as: they must either fill this field out OR this one. Also it's a little pricey. But we'll probably stay because it's good enough and a pain to switch to something new

Usability
Conga
It's a fairly simple tool to integrate into your current business structure. When we've had issues, we were able to resolve them extremely quickly. The users click a button and it can bring in all the quote lines, and our credit application seamlessly into our tool. I'd definitely recommend it to other colleagues

Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use. There can be a slightly steep learning curve to get fully in on the system. The new editor v2 has really improved usability and allows us to collaborate on documents simultaneously. Once the templates and library items are set up, a new document, whether it be a sales or HR document, takes very little time to complete.

The documents load quickly for the most part but sometimes if there are larger documents with a high number of variables it could take a bit longer to get the document to show up. Most of the time the document comes on the screen relatively quickly allowing for quick access to documents to be edited and sent out.

It's been hit and miss depending on the issue. We use javascript to generate the urls which has confused many techs even though it generates a clean url - they are overwhelmed by the concept of code and can't understand that the url is all that matters.

Recently I could not upload a pdf to a contract - support was very responsive and easy to work with. They got back to me the next day with an apparent fix - however when I opened the document nothing had changed. I then could not respond to the rep who was helping me because it was a "no-reply address", the problem still has not been solved and we had to make alternate arrangements to get this to the client. Never had it happen before and was only with this one contract.

I think Nintex is the primary competitor for Conga Composer, but I have not personally used it. I was not present for the decision to purchase Conga but I would recommend it in future document automation vendor selection processes because I have seen how well it works! We are especially fond of complementary features in Conga Composer, including Conga Email Templates and Conga Global Merge.

  • Without Conga Composer we wouldn't be able to auto generate documents in Salesforce, the extra customisation is needed.
  • The ROI is obvious when it comes to having customised documents
  • As long as the data is available in Salesforce, it's available in Conga, and so we have no issues with it's efficiency

  • Time saved creating documents. Not copying that answer. I've said that several times in this review already
  • IDK about increasing close rate, but customers certainly aren't afraid to click on a PandaDoc link or attachment
  • Only miniscule, miniscule negative is that it isn't always instant
