Generous startup program plan which was one of the main drivers of us choosing it - additionally, it offers ample of features. For anyone from engineering, marketing or sales - this was super intuitive so no knowledge transfer was necessary.
Chose Customer.io
I have tried multiple email marketing software, including MailChimp, ConvertKit, CustomerIO, and HubSpot, but I really liked how CustomerIO solved our problem. They were all somehow solving our problem, but lacked a few things here and there. For instance, ConvertKit’s forte is …
Chose Customer.io
There are so many ways to seamlessly connect all your tech together so the data stays consistent. I like their pricing model of charging per user vs data stored, like Iterable and Braze do. I also think their marketing is so good and the content they put out are actually …
Chose Customer.io
Customer.io offers push notifications, email building process in much much better, and the workflow building is way more intuitive.
Chose Customer.io
Customer.io is easier to use and offers better bang for the buck.
Chose Customer.io
Klaviyo doesn't have all the integrated options that Customer.io has. Braze has all the same features, but have a different pricing model (pay only for users that logged in and not for everything in the account), so depending on the company's needs it might be more suitable.
Chose Customer.io
Pardot has a clunky, outdated interface and capabilities, making it highly challenging to work with. On the other hand, Customer.io has been the opposite and it's one of the easiest tools to work on in our entire tech stack.
Chose Customer.io

Chose Customer.io
Customer.io had the best suite of features and - most importantly for us - was willing to sign a BAA with us so we could maintain HIPAA compliance. Mailchimp was fine but we felt Customer.io had a cleaner interface and was easier for general marketers who aren't dedicated email …
Chose Customer.io
Customer.io has in my opinion more robust features for comms campaigns vs some of the other tools available on the market that have other focuses primarily and then have CRM tacked on. We've also found Customer.io to be more easy to integrate with the tech stack of our business …
Chose Customer.io
Customer.io is much more comprehensive and powerful. It takes some getting used to but once you understand how it works, you have a ton of control when it comes to email marketing.
Chose Customer.io
I found Customer.io much easier to navigate than any of the other email platforms out there, and the pricing is MUCH better as well.
Chose Customer.io
Customer is much more flexible and enables a greater amount of personalization.
Chose Customer.io
Customer.io is one of the tools we use or suggest based on the situation. Customer.io is in a place between basic email marketing and marketing automation (in my opinion). And suits well with clients who wants to advance or start with marketing automation.

It's easy, the price …
Chose Customer.io
We used Autopilot in the past. It worked well but the integration wasn't very good, considering they only used cookies. We have a very complex system right now to be able to track every customer, and it was expensive but worth it. Autopilot worked very well when we were …
Chose Customer.io
I think Customer.io is a unique product. Most of the other email marketing products you'll find are more B2B focused and don't provide a good solution for high volume emails at a low price. If you're a B2C company, I can't think of any email product I'd rather use than …

We do still use Hubspot, but their email automation is very native and fixed within Hubspot. We needed something that was going to collect our events and integrate 2-ways with Segment in order to effectively send the campaigns we desired. There are so many events in our app …
Chose Customer.io
Customer.io was really the first pure, full-featured drip email program on the market and as far as I know, it's still the simplest and best overall for that specific function. SendGrid has also added drip campaign features, but I would seriously evaluate Customer.io against …

Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp has the best deliverability of all the email marketing software I've used, and the most customizable design features.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
These platforms have feature sets that are much better suited to B2B marketing than Intuit Mailchimp. In particular, the journey builders seem much better suited to long and complex business-to-business buying cycles like ours.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Intuit Mailchimp was far superior than Constant Contact. Also it was more affordable.

Afterwards, Intuit Mailchimp could not keep up with a full CRM like Highlevel.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
When we switched long time ago from Constant Contact it was because Mailchimp demonstrated more innovative features to be adapted in our communications. At that time Constant Contact it was too limited and it was constructed mainly to send bulk emails. So when we saw what …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp

Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We did not select this as we are happy with Intuit Mailchimp and this platform did not seem to be an upgrade for us.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is the gold standard currently for email campaigns.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
The pricing and features for Mailchimp beat constant contact hands-down.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Intuit Mailchimp is more affordable, scalable for all team sizes, has a shorter SMS registration approval timeframe, integrates with more platforms, and doesn't require training to get started.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp's email marketing is vastly superior to Bloomerang CRM or Fundraising (formerly Qgiv) but Mailchimp will integrate seemlessly to Bloomerang, so every email sent to a constituent will be recorded as a transaction. The email design blocks are much cleaner and easier to …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Constant Contact was overpriced and Action Network worked poorly.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
It's been years since I used Hootsuite and I used it to schedule posts on our social media channels. I do not need to use Intuit Mailchimp for this.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I think it’s so much nicer than Active Campaign on every level.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We went back to Flodesk due to their services being much more cost effective. We send emails to tens of thousands of people at a time, and we only pay $35/month for Flodesk
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I used constant contact years ago like 15-20... so Im unusre, I did not take the time to learn Intuit Mailchimp I hired someone.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
The user functionally is way better but we keep them on our list of CRM items due to the call features.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We ended up going with Intuit Mailchimp because of the templates and the pricing. While we didn’t actually use Constant Contact, just looking through it, Intuit Mailchimp seems much easier to use as well.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
My business was not allowed on other SMS services. The ridiculous rules the others have to deal with make it difficult to send anything for tactical training. It is used by many other businesses I know, so it seemed trustworthy. I don't like using services I have never heard of.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We do not use other programs and have not used other programs for this.

In the past, I've used 4Imprint, but it's not showing up in the list above.
Chose Printfection
We selected Printfection because they were local, had excellent customer support, had a nice variety of products available, and fit within our budget.
Chose Printfection
Printfection was within our price range in comparison to the others, plus they have a centralized warehouse that allows for global shipping.
Chose Printfection
Our standing relationship with Printfection and our partnership with their customer success teams have been the largest selling point. They take care of us too well.
Chose Printfection
We did not evaluate any other companies - we are happy with Printfection and the selection of their products and the quality they offer. There are a lot of other swag management companies out there, but we already had a relationship with Printfection when I started in this role …
Chose Printfection
We used to use Canary for smaller orders only because at the end of the day we needed a "housing swag" solution. So with Printfections warehousing capabilities it was a no-brainer for us. Printfection allows you to order, print and get shipped (or store) items. We have trade …

This tool is well-suited for companies looking to run email marketing campaigns or send out newsletters regularly to their users/customers. The workflow setup is especially useful for companies who want to send specific emails based on user behavior - i.e. they've not logged in recently, have bought a specific product, haven't opened any emails, etc. This could also be useful for freelancers like me since you can create different workspaces within Customer.io. I have configured it this way to handle email marketing for a few of my clients, and the software keeps everything organized and separate. This might not be the best tool for small businesses, considering the price. It may be better to start out with a cheaper email marketing tool, and then if/when necessary, scale-up with a tool like Customer.io.

It allows you to reach out to our customer base and discuss updates, sales, education, and much more. I am grateful to have reached out to them and to have gained brand loyalty in the process. It helps us truly connect, not just sell. I can segment my audiences and decide who I want to send communications to.

It is well suited for a one-stop shop that gets everything done in one place (sizing, order, warehousing, shipping, drop-shipping, ability to do one-off orders, support in the process). It is less appropriate if you need something very specific and what they have doesn't work for you or if you like to be very involved in the complete process. It is also less appropriate if price is a major factor.

Pros
  • Ease of use, a good tool for non programmers, or not so tech savvy people.
  • Great support, willing to help a lot, by chat, calls, or screen sharing.
  • Fast updates, it's a newer tool, but they are coming with fixes and updates fast.

  • Mailchimp allows you to manage your mailing list really well. You can subscribe people, unsubscribe people manage the mailing list directly into segments, and what not.
  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.

Cons
  • Customer.io needs to be more known! I don't know why they don't come up as a direct competitor to Iterable and Braze.
  • Their new Design Studio drag + drop tool could be improved with further customization.
  • Reports aren't the strongest - I use Amplitude to do all my Customer.io reporting.

  • The pricing tiers do scale quickly so if you have a free newsletter it may get expensive
  • The pricing is based on total emails so if you have users who you only email rarely it might not make sense to use Intuit Mailchimp
  • Customer support can be a bit lacking at times and their docs aren't always the best

We love the product. One thing we haven't mentioned yet is the human element. Recently, MailChimp re-structured their plans/pricing based on the feedback they had received. They listened to a pain their users were experiencing, then strategized a solution, and implemented it fairly. The updated pricing strategy was intended to save subscribers money, and they did a great job of communicating it to their users. I would be surprised if anyone reacted negatively to the change.

We are currently extremely satisfied with printfection. The quality of swag is very good, but the customer service ranks high above any other swag company. I have been working closely with my Printfection manager (Tyler Rowland) and he has been more than helpful from the start.

Usability
Super intuitive and easy interface to start off with. There are not a lot of guides and the documentation is helpful but not super extensive, but even if you're a little technical, you can easily figure most of the things out by yourself. Everything is super easy to start with and the platform does not overwhelm you with a lot of options, or data.

It's very easy to use - I could quickly explain how to use Mailchimp to someone not in marketing and feel confident they'd be able to use basic skills to figure it out. Plus, we use it beyond just email marketing now for subscriber welcomes, forms, and nurture sequences.

The product is really easy to use and manage. We love using Printfection. It's easy to order, ship and manage everything. I did remove one rating point because their set up for "giveaways" is a little cumbersome and I wish their platform notified you when products in your giveaways are running low.

Their team is very helpful in getting set up and we felt like they worked with us on price and also getting our previous inventory we had at our offices set up in Printfection. The only down side of shipping in your items to Printfection is the photography of the items (which clients can see) is pretty terrible if you don't have clear product photos prior to sending the items to Printfection warehouse.
**All items purchased through Printfection the product photos look better (so this issue won't be the case with those who aren't shipping existing swag to their warehouse)

I based my choices on response time to demo requests, customer service, items, ability to meet the needs of my supervisor, etc. I learned that 2 out of the 3 platforms I found were both under Custom Ink which I have used in the past. So I know the items are of good quality. The main deciding factor was the staff. Both companies had nice staff. But Printfection did a superb job of not making me feel like a cutomer but a friend. I didn't fee like I was a sale but a partner.

Scalability
No answers on this topic
Mailchimp over the years I've used it has grown in leaps and bounds. They have added so many additional features than were previously available. They are truly an all-in-one marketing platform now. If you're a small operation and just want to add email to your marketing efforts, they're there for you. If you're a larger operation and want to start sending postcard advertisements, they can do that. If you'd good with that and want to kick up your marketing by going social, you can do that on their platform. They are truly able to be as small as you need, but also get quite large in whatever it is you'd like to do through their system.

Return on Investment
  • Positive impact on the sales side. I'm not sure about the specific ROI (you have to include the designer and the time it takes to set up) but you certainly get back the investment in a few months, once you are able to scale your email marketing.
  • Customer experience is way better by having more segmented, contextual and accurate messages sent to them.
  • Integration is costly and it will take several days or weeks to be fully achieved. Expect to invest some money on this.

  • One of my retail web store clients was sending out email specials and notices about once a month. After clicking the send button, we would watch Google Analytics and the current site users would light up immediately. Often, the current site visitors would pop up to 20, 30 or more after the email was sent. On a normal day, seeing 1 or 2 online users would be OK.
  • Pretty much in all cases, we could see an uptick in positive activity after sending out a Intuit Mailchimp email to a list.
