ON24 is an intelligent engagement platform, that enables customers to continuously engage audiences with AI-powered, hyper-personalized webinar, virtual event and content experiences.
GoToWebinar was the best decision for comparing features and budget. ON24 had better branding and audience engagement options but came to be far above our budget limit.
Out first several attempts to use webinar solution was with ON24-- this is terrible software, with uncontrollable screen layouts and a number of limitations, making the session a nightmare for the presenter. Even having better traffic optimization, working with it was very …
ON24 is a great webinar platform if you are looking for the most high level, professional webinar. Zoom is good for webinars (though it is best for video conferencing) if you want something simple and bare bones. GoToWebinar is right in the middle of these two options, and …
I'm hating ON24 right now because they said they had a direct Pardot integration, but they don't. (They use a third-party provider, which means the set-up is intense and time consuming). Also, while ON24 seems to have better reporting and a more obvious kick-off process, they …
Our company has a contract with ON24 currently. They are both very similar and perform well, but I have to say I am more comfortable and prefer ON24. The ease of use and reporting capabilities are more helpful in terms of our goals with our clients, which is why we continue to …
GoTo Webinar comparing to its competitors has a lot of coins, below my list: GoTo Webinar X ON24: GoTo Webinar is much cheaper. GoTo Webinar x Webinar Jam: GoTo Webinar is more complete, has more analytics data after the webinar. GoTo Webinar x Zoom: GoTo Webinar is more …
Our target audience is within the financial sector and we struggled with security walls blocking their access to join Zoom or Teams meetings. ON24 seems to be one level up from GoTo Webinar when it comes to customization and a better UX. My new company now uses ON24 because of …
Pretty similar. I think the user gave is more simple with GoTo Webinar. I use ON24 sometimes and feel the response time is better. The competition delay during the presentation is sometimes delayed. It's very easy to use. Easy for our presenters and very easy for our customers …
I would be on the fence between choosing between GoTo Webinar and Zoom as I think for basic webinar tools, they are similar. ON24 is too much for me, and too expensive. BigMarker seems ok but expensive nonetheless. If I wanted a more branded experience and flexible interface, I …
Zoom scores well above GoTo and ON24 in brand recognition across mid to large enterprises. But GoTo scores well in SMBs. Regarding value for money and ROI, it's better than ON24. We selected GoTo because of the price point and to ensure that our partner-sourced SMB stacks do …
GoToWebinar met our needs for smaller scale webinars and internal meetings. Other competitors were much more expensive and we did not need extremely robust features at the time.
It was already a component of the tech stack before COVID, but with the introduction of numerous new platforms that are utilized on a daily basis for purposes other than webinars, it is currently not the greatest option for marketers. It's a useful addition to the tech stack, …
All of the other platforms are nice as well but something that has GoTo webinar is that it uses a software in your computer that makes the session to be more reliable and does not consume high ram or rom in your device. It has nice features to remind the people about the …
Super-smooth video and fantastic audio with an extended range of volume control. Other vendors can claim their product is a superior choice; however, in my history of experiencing multiple options, GoTo Webinar gets my highest marks!
ON24 is much easier to use as a producer and a presenter. I provide very little training for new presenters because it is pretty intuitive. Launching polls, videos, sharing screens is so seamless. Other platforms are little more clunky. I used GoToWebinar for many years and it …
We replaced GoToWebinar with ON24. We use MS Teams Live or Zoom alongside ON24 as it allows for interactive workshop format sessions with full audience participation. When we renewed ON24 this year I evaluated GlobalMeet which I was impressed with as it has a native integration …
I can't really compare those products with ON24 since the use case for the other products is less complicated. After using ON24 for a few webinars it's really easy to use. To compare ON24 and GoToWebinar: the whole look and use case of ON24 is way better, GoToWebinar feels like …
The capabilities of ON24 are much more superior to the features compared with GoToWebinar and BrightTALK, the interface and the ways we could engage our audience is very good in On24. Mainly GoToWebinar is suitable for small and mid market companies but ON24 definitely is an …

Chose ON24
In both instances where I have used ON24 we switched from GoToWebinar. The switch wasn't necessarily because of negativity towards GTW but we simply outgrew them. We needed to be able to do more webinars (a lot more) and wanted a more robust analytics platform with more …
We moved from GoTo Webinar around 3 years ago and at the time it was a tool that served the purpose of webinars but it didn't have a deep level of functionality or customisation which we were looking to grow into. ON24 has widgets and screens you can interact with as well as …
ON24 blows away Zoom and GoToWebinar when it comes to customization and branding. Plus, ON24's overall event management is more flexible than these other platforms. The recording features of ON24 are a big plus. However, Zoom and GoToWebinar have a more solid interface for …
In ON24 have more functionality while compare with other and also ON24 top rated software. Also best user interface and best functionality while syncing leads from third party software such as Adobe Marketo. Other therms easy to upload video for On-demand Video.
ON24 offers way more branding and personalization options then GoTo did in the past. We currently are really able to set up the webinar consoles to our branding. Next to that On24 offer more engagement options. Also the reporting both per event and on account level are more …
In my experience, ON24 is the most user friendly webinar tool. It is easy to set up and run webinars, whilst also providing an excellent customer experience.
I have found ON24 to be the most reliable, easy to use, and intuitive platform. It's great to have cheat sheets and tools to send to my presenters who may have never used ON24 before that day. Other platforms are confusing or have too many steps involved. ON24 makes it easy to …
The ON24 webinars is simple to use and is constantly updated to keep up with new technologies. Their assistance is typically valuable. I really like the webinars they provide. It always tells us what technology we might be employing or adding to our day-to-day operations, and …
ON24 had a lot more features than some of the other ones out there. It is simple to use, simple to send other presenter links and overall a nicer experience for attendees. Being able to add slides, move around lives, add images, take features away if they aren't going to be …
ON24 is more sophisticated in terms of functionalities, provide better options for aesthetics, gives more comprehensive reporting, readily provides live technical support, has on-demand training materials in various formats, and can cater to bigger live online events like a …
Simply put, ON24 offers a highly customizable user experience, as well as a completely professional branding ability, that no other platform compares to. In addition to the aesthetics and user-friendly nature of the platform, there is a proper back-end for producers/presenters …
Far better for branded presentation events. We will still use others for smaller, boutique screen-sharing types of demo events. And we do not worry about performance. Technical glitches with another platform (s) were the primary reason we started to look at On24, and it has …
GoToWebinar and ON24 are both webinar software designed to support businesses hosting large video conferences. GoToWebinar provides pricing and features that support businesses of all sizes, making it a popular choice with small to mid-sized businesses. ON24 provides simple to join webinars for large groups of people, making it a popular choice for larger enterprises.
Features
GoToWebinar and ON24 both support large webinars, but they also have a few standout features that set them apart from each other.
GoToWebinar allows for simple creation of webinars, but it also provides video channels that users can use to watch webinars or training videos after they go live. Additionally, GoToWebinar provides a desktop and mobile application that allows users to attend webinars from any device. In addition to providing easy access to webinars, administrators will have an easy time learning GoToWebinars user interface.
ON24 allows users to attend webinars without downloading anything through a browser. This makes it easy for new users to access webinars from any internet connected device without making any kind of commitment. Additionally, ON24 provide detailed analytics on webinar registrant tracking, as well as attendance and viewer drop-off rates.
Limitations
Though GoToWebinar and ON24 both help businesses host and record webinars, they also have some limitations that are important to consider.
GoToWebinar provides applications for desktop and mobile devices, but it isn’t as simple to use as ON24’s browser based webinars. Businesses that are aiming to make the webinar experience as smooth as possible for users may prefer ON24. Additionally, On24 provides highly customizable branding options, compared to GoToWebinars more limited branding functionality.
ON24 allows users to join meetings through a browser, and provides a simple user experience, but its administration features are more difficult to use compared to other options. Users should expect to need some training to use the program efficiently. Additionally, ON24 doesn’t provide video channel pages, which can make it worse for training videos compared to GoToWebinar.
Pricing
GoToWebinar offers several pricing plans starting at $49.00 per month for the Lite option which supports up to 100 webinar participants. As prices increase, the amount of participants and storage also increases. Higher pricing tiers can support up 3,000 participants for $399.00 per month.
On24 pricing is not detailed publicly, but businesses can reach out to vendors for a detailed quote.

GoTo webinars are well suited for smaller marketing/sales teams, SMBs, or companies with very tight budgets that want value out of their investments. They may be less appropriate for organizations that want to scale across large enterprises or invest in companies focusing on AI and Gen AI.
Having a platform where you can engage customers. It’s not only about the presentation, the polling, and customer engagement allows us to get feedback from customers. A major win for us is that it requires zero software to be downloaded. Running it within the browser window is such a huge impact. When webinar providers have software involved there could be issues with the end user trying to install and run it due to security settings or software.
Webinars hosted in ON24 run smoothly and never lag, and the help desk is very responsive.
Detailed analytics in every field include surveys, unique clicks, and downloads.
Registration details and multi-registration links in ON24 are very helpful and allow us to add additional registration fields and restrict certain domains.
Can't schedule recurring webinars twice per week or every other week--must manually add or delete instances.
Can't schedule recurring webinars more than 'x' number of instances (less than a year's worth).
If you want a recurring webinar to continue past the last instance (in order to keep the same link), your only option is to manually add future instances before the last one occurs. If the last instance occurs, the webinar (and corresponding link) are archived with no recourse and you must recreate it from scratch and update every bit of external collateral with a new link. So I have to have reminders on my calendar every 6 months to go in and add additional dates for all my recurring webinars in order to keep my links active.
Canceling/changing seats is a huge pain.
The default 'join' screen is app-based rather than web based, so registrants often have to download GTW. I have a lot of clients whose computers are locked down from unapproved apps and have missed the webinar because the ability to join on the web is very unintuitive.
ON24 sometimes does not work well with some of our clients firewall and VPN if they are attempting to join from their office.
ON24 can sometimes freeze and our trainers are unable to resolve the issue and are forced to reschedule the session or move to another platform available.
ON24 does not track the correct data for our number of registrants for forums events. So, the analytics component is not valuable to us.
Our largest issue with GoTo have been the limitations on recording and using recordings to host a webinar, and the biggest of those is the ability to record. We have had most of our webinars recorded successfully, but when it failed to save, it failed in a big way. Their customer service team was there to help, but they were unable to truly fix the problem. There are, of course, other providers, but as we are still seeing where hosted webinars fit in our marketing strategy, cost is an important factor. Since our company already uses GoToMeeting, it makes more sense for us to stay with the entire suite of products, especially while we are testing the strategy as a whole.
ON24 is everything we expected and everything we needed. It's simple to use, extremely customizable, and scales very easily. The integration to our CRM makes ON24 major lead generator for our sales team from our established webinars series. We can automate lead delivery to our sales team as well. If anything, we will look to expand our partnership in the future.
GoTo Webinar's User Interface is simple and straightforward, which is what I, as an end user, prefer to interact with when I only use a software once or twice a month; I don't want to have to remember extra steps just to attend a webinar.
97% of our attendees say it is the best trainings they have every attended. But they other 3% have a horrible experience (while watching the event live) interesting fact. On24 uses two different encoders for live vs OnDemand. I have never had issues with the On-Demand experience. My only complaints come during live events
I rated GoTo Webinar a 9 out of 10 for availability because it generally performs reliably, with minimal application errors or unplanned outages. The platform’s high uptime ensures that it’s usually accessible when needed, supporting a seamless experience for scheduling and conducting webinars. While occasional minor issues may arise, they are infrequent and typically well-managed, contributing to a strong overall rating for availability.
ON24 is always available when I have a question about a new feature, if I'm having issues during a live webinar, or if I'm having issues with a webinar on the backend. Our client support specialist, Heather Haines, has always been incredibly consistent with getting me the answers I need when I need them.
I rated GoTo Webinar an 8 out of 10 for performance due to its generally robust capabilities. Pages load quickly, and reports are generated efficiently, even for complex data sets. The platform’s integration with other systems typically doesn’t introduce significant latency or performance issues. However, during peak usage times or when handling very large data volumes, there can be occasional slowdowns. Despite these instances, GoTo Webinar consistently provides strong performance and reliability in its core functions.
Sometimes (it may be my computer) i cant login to ON24. I create a new PW and then i still cant get in. I clear cache/try new browser etc. and nothing works. I come back in a few hours and its like the problem never existed, its the strangest thing. Outside of that everything works pretty seamless. We've ran into a few bumps with Marketo talking to ON24 and passing reg through but have that figured out now. Not being able to be on a VPN when connecting to webcam on the presenter side does cause issues for our government speakers.
I was always able to get someone on the phone when I needed to. They were very thorough and ensuring my questions were answered. And if I was asking for a solution or request that they didn't offer, they told me so I could at least stop trying to search for it.
ON24 support is really good with the 24/5 support chat line, where someone actually responds within 30 seconds. The customers success team is also really good and our rep is very helpful with all our questions. Whenever we have more technical questions, she will bring on a IT designer or a tech specialist on our calls for additional comments and help.
On24 has amazing ON-Demand trainings that you can use at anytime and they walk you through step by step on different topics/ they are always updating and innovating and putting out new trainings. I would highly reccomend the trainings and reading the documents they have created. They also do live webinars on a rolling basis that are filled with so much knowledge and Information
I didn't participate in the implementation nor did my company. As far as I know we have an IT office running alla these projects and we just use the final products for our educational purposes. I also didn't notice implementation at any level while using the desktop interface, but would immediately recognize it, if so.
We had a few training's, which were broken up, and focused on specific areas of how to use the platform. Mostly though, a lot of it is just dedicating your time to learning and exploring what the possibilities are for enhancing your webinars
GoToWebinar has a user-friendly interface and intuitive controls. When comparing it with other platforms, assess how easily you can navigate through features, set up events, and engage with participants. Connection stability, audio and video quality seem pretty much ok. Interactive polls, Q&A sessions, recording options are also working fine and provide to the user experience
From what I've seen, ON24 is built specifically to meet the needs of event marketing (or marketing generally), versus the other platforms which are more about simply providing a mechanism to hold virtual meetings. The integration with sales and marketing systems is really valuable. I don't know about pricing differences, but if the competitors were comparable, I would still select ON24.
I rated GoTo Webinar an 8 out of 10 for scalability because it effectively supports deployment across multiple departments and sites with its flexible features. It allows for easy management of large-scale webinars and integration with various systems, accommodating a growing number of users and sessions. However, some users might find limitations in advanced customization or specific integration needs as their requirements become more complex. Overall, its robust capabilities and adaptability make it a strong choice for scalable webinar solutions.
The ON24 platform is straightforward to use and train clients on, which is a huge plus. Clients appreciate its features and simplicity. Internally, we receive valuable analytical data from webinar events, enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions. This helps us optimize strategies and drive success for B2B businesses effectively.
