Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

It is easier to use than Semrush and I have some of my employees use it for that reason. It does a good job showing keyword data in an easy-to-understand way. It seems fairly accurate too.
  • Easy to use.
  • Nice interface.
  • Reliable.
  • I think slicing and dicing the data in the tool without exporting could be improved, but I am not thinking that this tool is for more advanced use cases.
To get a quick handle on keyword metrics and ideas, this tool really is idea. It is sooooooo much easier to work with than Semrush, which does a lot and is organized, on the whole, rather poorly.

Our entire SEO Department uses WordTracker daily and we find it an indispensable tool in our company. It supports our client strategy and is used for much of our SEO research. WordTracker is essential in determining ground-level keyword statistics such as search volume and level of competition and offers a very helpful Keyword Effectiveness Index (KEI) figure.
  • Over the years I have learned that WordTracker's KEI is particularly good at revealing a keyword's relative value.
  • WordTracker finds related search terms which helps us develop a more comprehensive keyword strategy.
  • WordTracker also enables practical sorting across columns which helps us select competitive keywords quickly.
  • We use WordTracker frequently in our first phases of keyword research and have found it to be very solid.
  • This tool provides us with data to support our recommendations for changes that may need to be made to be successful in the SERPs and is also helpful in explaining our overall strategy to our clients.
  • Cumulative month data or seasonal data would be appreciated.
Do you have a dependable keyword research tool? If you do not, this is a great place to develop a platform for your search. Do you have an SEO strategy in place? If not, WordTracker can help give you ideas for expanding that research through the referral term suggestion tool.

WordTracker has been invaluable for my company as a content marketing research tool. I manage the editorial calendar for our blog content - WordTracker helps me and other authors pick the keywords that will drive the most amount of relevant traffic back to our blog. In addition, WordTracker helps my social media team keep up to date on which keywords are trending in our specific industry. I would say that the biggest business problem that WordTracker addresses is understanding how my target audience writes for the web (especially how they use search engines) and the types of topics and information for which they search.
  • Keyword research to find the perfect phrases with low competition and high impression rate
  • Keeping up with trending topics in any industry field
  • Giving new ideas on longtail keyword phrases to target or utilize on your blog
  • More accurate impression rate per phrase - even if a phrase gets only 15 impressions a month, those impressions might be valuable customers/sales.
  • Pricing could be more affordable
  • Better explore keywords that indicate a customer is ready to purchase
During the selection process, you should keep in the mind the specific keywords that you think indicate a viewer is in your target audience. I think that WordTracker is well suited for pulling leads in with interesting SEO-driven keyword phrases, yet it is less appropriate if you need help discovering the keywords that indicate your customer is ready to make a purchase.

At Heinz Marketing we use WordTracker to help with our own keyword research as well as to help clients build a useful SEO strategy. Most of the coordinators and consultants in our company have used WordTracker for clients and we have helped clients set up and use the program. We have found WordTracker useful for both website optimization and even for optimizing search ads.
  • WordTracker provides alternate keywords that are similar to your search so you may find additional keywords that you may have not thought of using
  • WordTracker provides an easy-to-read assessment of each keyword phrase so you can see which keywords are commonly searched for and how competitive the landscape is for that phrase (if there are a lot of pages optimized for that particular keyword)
  • WordTracker will save your work so you can pick up where you left off- which can be very convenient
  • A more detailed walk-through for first time users which gives usage scenarios for the different features would probably get people up and running in WordTrack a lot quicker
  • For novice users it might be useful to have WordTracker point out the keywords that would be good to focus on based on the KEI. Something like highlighting the useful keywords in green and the highly competitive ones in red.
  • Maybe a quick intro video for new users. We help clients get up and running in WordTracker and a quick video demonstrating the usage and how it is beneficial might help.
It is well suited for those that are really looking to properly optimize their website. Combining WordTracker with tools such as Moz can be very useful and really make a difference in SEO.

Wordtracker gives me insight into what is going on, since Google has limited it data transparency.

Wordtracker allows us to:
1. Build keyword sets.
2. Expand existing keyword sets & do gap analysis
3. Insight into multiple data sources.

Best of all, they allow us to export large volumes of data to be analyzed in excel. It is nice that their data is updated all the time.
  • Keyword research for SEO and SEM
  • Keyword gap analysis
  • Multi source keyword research
  • UI
  • Data storage. Yes it would be nice to query all data which has ever entered your system.
  • Smarter query system
Good bang for the buck.
Access to nice data sets
Good for SEO and SEO / Paid Search / PPC
Great for all groups of all sizes.
Easy to export data.
It gives you data which Google used to give you.

Not so good for local search, uber specific categories, or international search. Since the data is 30 days old, it is not good for instant search campaigns, but is great for SEO and long tail SEM
