Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now

I use ADP Workforce Now for timekeeping and to process our payroll. We are a manufacturing plant so ADP Workforce Now is used for all of our employees. The biggest problem that is solved is the ability to keep accurate track of our time and it avoids the old punch cards.

Cons

  • There is alot to learn and instructions are not very clear
  • Using the time clock can be frustrating for older employees
  • Relying on the bridge for answers can be frustrating
  • ADP Workforce Now is much cheaper than previous payroll so an automatic ROI.
  • Self-service for the employees reduces the workload on HR another example of ROI.
I believe there are many things that can be done or adapted to fit the needs of my company but without knowledge on how to do several things, it is hard for me to answer this question. It can be used by several supervisors but integrating each person takes time and they would have to familiarize themselves with the software.

We have not integrated other systems with ADP Workforce Now.
We have used Paycor in the past and it works similar to ADP but the interface just looks simpler. ADP is much better since there are numerous tutorials or helpful links to teach you how to use the software. The bridge also offers help from other users that have similar isssues.

Every time I have an issue that needs to be addressed it is very easy to reach a representative to guide you through options. They can easily fix the problems or walk you through to learn how to fix it yourself. The steps are simple to understand and with Service connect you can find previous isssues and keep track of the fixes.
ADP Workforce Now solves the problem of keeping accurate track of an employee's day. The mobile app gives employees access to their information and it helps to keep records and personal information up to date. For some users with basic computer/app knowledge, it is simple but for some employees that lack that experience, it can be more difficult.

COVID-19 Response

The biggest help workforce now did during Covid 19 was the ability to generate the needed documents for the PPP loan. Reports were easy to find and all of the information was clear for the process. When our bank asked for clarification, I was able to reach out to customer support and all of my questions were taken care of.
We were fortunate to continue to work as an essestianl service but the loan assistance and the loan forgiveness paperwork was valuable. We were able to secure our PPP loan and we achieved 100% forgiveness thanks to the supporting documentation.
Some of the information was usefull but it was not important in the decision making. We were able to continue to work during the covid shut down and we made adjustments to the schedule. I did not find information that was relevant to our situation or the needs of the employees during this time.
We offer limited use of the self serve option for the employees. The employees are all able to update their contact information and tax information as well. We do not use the self serve option for new hires since I prefer to use hard copies for applications and then I can upload all of the information into workforce now. The ease of use for self serve options is convienent for the employees

Workforce now is simple and has a great support team. Running payroll weekly is a breeze with Workforce now. Employees are able to manage their personal information and simple requests can be done online. The use of paper has been reduced and approvals for requests can be responded to in minutes as opposed to several days or weeks.

Evaluating ADP Workforce Now and Competitors

Yes - Paycor. We were using paycor for our payroll but the cost was higher and we were unable to use the other software to pay vendors from our account. The time and attendance is easier to navigate and schedules are easy to create and adjust. The company will not go back to another payroll company after finding ADP.

The price for the service was much cheaper than both Paycor and Palocity. Each service charges per employee and the rate that ADP offered is much better. We had discussed the charges with the previous companies and they were unable to match what ADP was able to charge for a better service.
If I had to go thru the process all over again I would stress to see how the software worked and to have an example of how friendly it is to work with. Most payroll works the same way but the differences in how the user is able to work with the software that makes the biggest difference.

We did not purchase premium support. The support that is provided by Client Loyalty is sufficient to resolve most of my concerns. I have not had a problem yet that can not be addressed by my support team so the need to purchase more support would not seem to be cost effective.
I needed help with bonus checks and I was able to call the support center. Not only did they answer my question, they were able to make a seperate payroll for bonuses with taxes paid. I am now able to create bonus checks with no issue and will continue to use the same way

Using ADP Workforce Now

The software is easy to use and there are helpful links attached to almost every action. There are plenty of opportunities to learn how certain functions work and there is a vast library of helpful tutorials to guide you with every step. You can rewatch the tutorials as many times as needed to make sure you are able to grasp the program.

Yes - The mobile interface is good for self service. Employees are able to view or update their personal information. In addition requests can be made for time off and vacation. The mobile app also alows for clock in and clock out of the shift. If the schedule has been set up, an employee can see their upcoming schedule.
