Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We used TriNet to access better benefits. They are a PEO service that gave us access to other insurance products and HR support. We used them for two years before we had to abruptly end service. Having a PEO service can be helpful as it gives access to support that usually will be done completely in-house without guidance.

Pros

  • payroll was easy
  • support for difficult HR questions
  • tax and data administration

Cons

  • internal communication
  • communication to team working for
  • benefit administration
  • working for clients instead of share holders
  • technology
  • TriNet increased our benefits 400% and never contacted me about it
  • payroll was due so quick after our final paydate i would be stuck with fees doing extra pay cycles
  • the technology they use is not great like they promised it was
  • my reps never communicated within themselves making for miscommunication to me and my team
  • it reduced time spent on tax admin but increase time spent on benefit admin
the system worked for years. i really only used two or three sections in the whole app. a lot of unnecessary tools that would increase admin time not make it more efficient. just like the time and attendance tool. not a great tool especially for service based companies. and really not a great user experience. it's like the tool was made by really bad engineers with no understanding of UI/UX. But at the end of the day we used the three tools for two years and those tools seemed to not have issues. the fourth tool benefit section was trash. which is why it gets a 3
I'm giving it a two because only two support people was helpful. one was my assigned payroll specialist. she didn't have much to do but was at least responsive and easy to get a hold of. the second was a specialist when i had a technical HR problem. My HR specialist was non existent. never contacted me except maybe once in the two years. never had my back, and didn't communicate internally with her own team
I used Insperity for 1 year. they sold me mid year and screwed up our health insurance (something they promised me wouldn't happen which made the relationship start off bad. Their service was pretty good though, they were helpful just a little more expensive and had better technology then TriNet. Rippling was one i evaluated but overall did not go with them since they quoted me higher than expected health premiums with a provider i did not want and would not approve me for PEO services since TriNet increase d our benefits like they did

Do you think TriNet delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with TriNet's feature set?

No

Did TriNet live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of TriNet go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy TriNet again?

No

I cannot say TriNet would be well suited for any company. this PEO service should be able to last the life of the company. TriNet puts it's shareholders first and expect to last only a few years on the service before a shock value accident happens and they raise your premiums so much that it's an unaffordable service. and then tack on fees to enroll and end service with them. also the lack of communication upon benefit renewal process. This company should not be publicly traded because they should be fore their clients and not their shareholders.
