ADP RUN seems to be very well suited towards smaller businesses. The site is simple to use and has plenty of features for handling payroll and basic HR functions. I think the system would be a bit cumbersome to use with a larger number of employees (25+), unless you opted to use their time and attendance program.

Workday is a great tool if companies want to consolidate the number of platforms they use to keep track of employee related information. The layout of the platform is easy to figure out for first time users and from my own experience, works decently on mobile devices. The tool also offers many ways to create a more visualized layout of the company and teams for those who are new or those who are looking to get a broader image of the people within the organization.

After some initial challenges with change management, Georgetown has been successfully using Workday for over two years. We will go live this year with Financials replacing our current highly customized Peoplesoft Financials system. We have high confidence in a successful financials implementation and have been very pleased with Workday's responsiveness and adaptability to the needs of higher education.

Overall this is a highly useable product. It does require continual use to stay current on changes in the User Interface and functionality, but as noted earlier, this is a reasonable trade-off for the rapid rate of improvement. It is very user friendly and the templated business processes prevents the system from becoming overly complicated

From my perspective, the system runs like a well oiled machine and I have not had any issues with customers complaining about speed. If a report is taking long to run, the report can run in the background and you can go about your business. For larger enterprises, there is additional space and machines to process the application in what Workday refers to it as Extended Configuration Tenant

Support is provided by OneSource, the reseller. They really have no expertise and their level of technical expertise is poor. When we went to our training, the room was filled with OneSource people going through the same training. We finished training in 1 day, they took 4 days. They are hardly experts. Workday has come out with two more releases since then and Onesource have doubled in size in the last year – so it’s hard to see how they can keep up.

There is an online community/portal that is pretty good. There is however no easy answer to “guided completion”

I have done for report writing and mass imports (EIBs). They give materials and you run through examples, i.e. you don’t just watch them do tasks, so that is helpful. Training is expensive – a single reporting writing class is $600 per person for virtual training

I would rate OneSource VHR a 5. They do well with benefits and payroll, but poorly with customizations, integrations, and reports. I will not renew with OneSource VHR, and would not use them again or recommend them. The project team was bad. I would give them a 2/10 or 3/10. It was a terrible experience. They were knowledgeable but didn’t lead us through the implementation. We had a lot of surprises. We found out that we were submitting employee data in August but going live in January and we are adding a few hundred people in a few months, so we would have to do a big chunk of data entry, and to adjust for all the organization changes.

Workday only work directly with certain size companies. One other company I talked to works with them directly and raves about Workday’s support. I have not IDd a better channel partner to work with yet.

My key advice is to know the timeline i.e. when data is going to be uploaded, the time from that to getting your tenant back and understand how your payroll parallel testing will work

While I still use QuickBooks for other accounting and bookkeeping uses, RUN was a lot more user-friendly when it came to payroll. It was cheaper and I felt that the help/assistance was much better, that if I did run into any issues, I would have an answer very quickly.

Previously I have used internally created tools similar to workday that are not available to the public, however, Workday is much more intuitive in comparison has much stronger impact than other tools I have used and many times easier to navigate to the areas where you want to be than any other tool I have used.

Workday has released Financials and is continuing to develop it's Human Capital Management footprint with the addition of Workday Recruiting. I think customers will find that is easy to add on additional functionality in the system.Workday does make it easy for customers to make changes without relying on IT resources. The Business Process framework is a visual tool that allows functional resources to make changes and see the flow of the transaction

  • The data analysis that Workday has made possible is a quantum leap from our legacy system. Our HR strategy initiatives are much more informed as a result.
  • Once we got past the initial adoption phase, self service of our team members has freed up HR staff resources to focus on other strategic initiatives
  • The completeness of the product suite has enabled us to jettison duplicate systems and has helped the overall cost of ownership from an IT systems perspective
