No two email and customer automation tools are the same. They each have their little advantages so it's hard to compare them all because they all have little strengths and weaknesses. SendinBlue is a bit more visual - both with their visual workflow editor, and their email …
Brevo is very suitable for companies and individuals who want to run email marketing campaigns, create a strong corporate image, manage customer relationships, and build customer loyalty. Like any application, there are areas for improvement, such as more templates and a simpler CRM application, but I believe it has more positive features than negative ones, and for us, it has become a strategic partner. This review was originally written in Spanish and has been translated into English using a third-party translation tool. If your marketing model is selling products, services, or SAAS where you are doing inbound marketing and your website will do most of the lead generation and conversion, this is a great product. From live chat, support, event tracking, and automation, you could almost put your entire business on autopilot. If your marketing model is mostly outreach to cold leads and conversion, this software currently does not have any type of sales stages or task generation. I would still use Gist for website inbound but use another software for outreach and cold leads then when they become a lead put them into Gist for marketing automation.
Vero tends to play nice with companies that have their websites as the primary source of truth. This allows them to send as many events as they need and develop more complex workflows that introduce conditionality into Vero emails. However, for those that rely more on Salesforce, it might have more limited applications. The product is fairly easy to use, so it's easy for multiple people on the team to pick it up and do what they need for their respective groups. On the other hand, creating email templates will require some knowledge of HTML/CSS, unless those are copied from another source. That would require another product of course that provides more robust layout editing features and templates.
Customer service via a unified inbox so you dont have to separately monitor your twitter, Facebook or IG account for consumer communication there. Gist unified all into one inbox, better than anyone else I've seen in the market. They archive all communications and tie them back to a single user so you get unified customer history / data.
Marketing segmentation and automation: they track user history and behavior across the site and have super detailed segmenting capability, on par with ActiveCampaign's, but better I'd say. Better UI for the marketing admin person, and more unified data than in AC.
Live chat and chatbot. Usually it's either one or the other but with Gist you can do both seamlessly.
Onboarding can be a bit tricky. As with most WordPress additions, different plugins will have different configurations. Don't expect to install and just click activate.
Online support is highly technical. Email is its own beast and even good digital may not know more than the basics.
The reporting is strangely not intuitive or even very end-user friendly even with the robust data being tracked.
Composing in their editor can sometimes sync differently. Just like a video game, it's helpful to save often despite the autosave.
Plan limits can be confusing. For example, there is a monthly charge for support and a monthly charge for "growth," plus there's a separate charge depending on how many contacts and seats you have. Perhaps this is normal in the industry, but it can make it a little challenging to understand the bill every month.
The vast amount of features means development will never be as fast as you'd like it to be (even though they release updates all the time). This may not actually be a valid concern, and it certainly isn't unique to Gist (who doesn't have a wishlist they're waiting on their favorite SaaS to get to?), but I do believe the likelihood of being stuck without your desired feature being developed goes up a lot as the product gets bigger and bigger.
Email deliverability has been less than perfect in the past, but it has improved drastically in the last year.
While Vero offers some WYSIWYG editing, it's on the limited side, as it mostly allows you to edit copy, but not necessarily the layout.
The UI/UX has improved dramatically over the course of the last few years, but it can still lag from time to time and experience sluggishness.
While reliability is really good, it does have lapses from time to time that will introduce delays into emails being sent out. Once or twice, the system went completely down for a period of time.
Gist is a quite reliable service with a lot of added values. We don't need to pay for different Saas for these important features. If I had an issue the team was super responsive and helpful, that is essential for every business. The email delivery is great, so virtually no email has landed into spam folder
It's okay, it's easy to use, has good features, and good automation options, but it lacks better delivery support. Many messages end up in spam, even though I have a dedicated IP address that I pay for separately, and I think it needs more design options to make emails stand out, especially in terms of typography. That's why I'm not giving it a 10. It also lacks integration with other tools.
It’s pretty simple, but it does a lot so there are more complicated features which depend on an individuals ability for software implementation. I am not an IT expert and I’ve managed to implement everything myself, others that are more tech-minded may find everything easier.
Everything loads very quickly, it saves as you go along so you're unlikely to loose work if your computer fails. Reports are there immediately too so you're able to act quickly on customer engagement.
These people helped me identify errors when setting up DKIM and were more than helpful in trying to diagnose low open rates with a few campaigns identifying where improvement can be made and how to more effectively manage contact lists. The support is excellent.
Fantastic support. Ask a question, get an answer within 24 hours every time. And sometimes within a few minutes. They've always come through for me, helpful and, even when it's an issue on my end, they point me in the right direction.
Sendinblue not stacking up so great unfortunately. We are considering going back to Constant Contact because of ongoing issues we are having with Sendinblue. We have however just upgraded to Premium with Sendinblue, mainly so we can get Telephone Support. But now it seems Sendinblue do not call you, you have to call them. With Constant Contact they would phone us and talk us through any issues we were having.
We selected Sendinblue initially because of price.
Also, our average Open rate over the last few months we were with Constant Contact was about 20%. Our Open rate - to exactly the same database, has dropped to under 10% with Sendinblue. We can't understand this. Doesn't make sense.
The Click Rate has stayed about the same - averaging about 2-3% on both platforms.
Gist combines all our previous products into one application and adds many more features that would require more apps. Gist is excellent and a no-brainer all-in-one application when compared to having to manage multiple applications at higher cost. The support from the whole Gist team has been extremely responsive.
Vero's price tag is far more attractive but for what you will find to be clear and obvious reasons. Vero has no CRM unlike HubSpot and Infusionsoft. Vero also has limited tracking unlike the seemingly endless possibilities offered from HubSpot which as we all know comes with at a significant cost, often not feasible by a small startup company.
They are perfect for me as a someone who needs a lot of bang for the buck. The chat messenger device on my website alone has brought me new prospects that I did not have to spend money recruiting.
I am able to save hours of time with the automated emails that are GDPR compliant.
I don't have to pay for a designer to have excellent looking emails either.
The overall costs of using Vero have been much lower than using two comparable products that handle transactional emails and newsletters, respectively. MailChimp has relatively recently integrated their Mandrill product for transactional emails, so that's worth looking at as well.
Using a single product for many things lowers the learning curve, as team members only have to learn one product well, rather than several.
While infrequent, Vero's outages have impacted our operations at times. If absolute reliability is crucial to your business, then you may have to find a larger provider with a more robust infrastructure. As mentioned, though, it hasn't been a big problem for us.
